Ep 71: From Desperation to Relief: Stacy Wismer on the Power of Kratom

Stacy Wismer shares her journey from decades of chronic pain to finding relief with Kratom, easing her symptoms and restoring her quality of life while advocating for safe, responsible use.

In this powerful episode, Madalyn sits down with Stacy Wismer, who has faced decades of complex health challenges, including interstitial cystitis, depression, and a rare Tarlov cyst that left her in debilitating pain. After surgeries, medications, and therapies failed to provide lasting relief, a 2022 car accident worsened her condition, and then a friend introduced her to Kratom. Starting with small doses and experimenting with strains, Stacy discovered a life-changing balance that brought her pain down from an eight to a two.

Today, Kratom not only eases Stacy’s chronic pain but also helps with menopause-related joint pain and lifts her mood. While mindful of minor side effects, she says the benefits far outweigh them. Now a passionate advocate, she educates others on safe, responsible use and the importance of sourcing only from reputable vendors. Her story is one of resilience, hope, and reclaiming the ability to live fully again.

1
00:00:00,440 --> 00:00:07,640
I've got to 3G and I noticed I'm
like, OK, that's that is

2
00:00:07,640 --> 00:00:13,000
something like from head to toe.
My pain got better.

3
00:00:13,040 --> 00:00:15,600
I mean, I had really bad, you
know, the bladder pain and the

4
00:00:15,720 --> 00:00:19,800
sacral pain and the nerve pain
was just excruciating.

5
00:00:20,800 --> 00:00:25,000
And that went from an 8 to a
two, I would say 8 to a 2.

6
00:00:25,160 --> 00:00:29,080
And I was like, and I used to be
a big runner and I was like, I

7
00:00:29,080 --> 00:00:31,760
feel like I'm going to run.
And my husband's like slow it

8
00:00:31,760 --> 00:00:34,040
down.
You know, you just took this at

9
00:00:34,040 --> 00:00:36,920
your, this is a little just
let's adjust.

10
00:00:37,360 --> 00:00:42,320
So I kind of stayed with the
greens and Reds and I went up to

11
00:00:42,320 --> 00:00:56,760
eventually about a 3 1/2 Grants.
So I'm here with Stacy Wismer, A

12
00:00:56,800 --> 00:01:01,040
fellow kratom consumer, eager to
hear her story and have her

13
00:01:01,040 --> 00:01:04,360
share it with you all.
So Stacy, thank you so much for

14
00:01:04,360 --> 00:01:07,200
coming on the podcast.
I, I just love doing this.

15
00:01:07,200 --> 00:01:10,280
You know, this is something I'm
just very passionate about and I

16
00:01:10,280 --> 00:01:12,280
think it's important for people
to hear our stories.

17
00:01:12,440 --> 00:01:14,520
Absolutely.
Thank you for having me.

18
00:01:15,240 --> 00:01:18,800
Yeah, so tell us a little bit
about yourself and life before

19
00:01:18,800 --> 00:01:22,800
kratom.
OK, well I was born in Michigan.

20
00:01:22,800 --> 00:01:25,320
I'm from like a little outside
Ann Arbor, MI and where

21
00:01:25,320 --> 00:01:30,680
University of Michigan is.
My parents divorced when I was

22
00:01:30,680 --> 00:01:33,640
young so I then I my parents
remarried.

23
00:01:33,640 --> 00:01:37,160
I moved around about 13 times.
Wasn't in the army, I just

24
00:01:37,160 --> 00:01:39,400
happened to move around a lot.
Only child.

25
00:01:40,800 --> 00:01:44,720
As a child I've always was
really sickly.

26
00:01:44,960 --> 00:01:48,960
I had just odd things all the
time.

27
00:01:49,120 --> 00:01:54,720
I was happy, but I just always
had really odd sicknesses and

28
00:01:54,720 --> 00:01:57,720
you know, I just kind of blew
through them.

29
00:01:57,720 --> 00:01:59,440
Didn't even think anything about
it.

30
00:02:00,960 --> 00:02:07,120
When I got into college, I was,
I think part of it was I

31
00:02:07,120 --> 00:02:09,960
started, I started drinking a
lot to cover up some of my

32
00:02:09,960 --> 00:02:12,720
symptoms.
Cannabis didn't do it for me.

33
00:02:12,720 --> 00:02:16,240
It didn't cover anything up.
I mean, I just had no good

34
00:02:16,240 --> 00:02:19,800
reaction to it.
So I would just drink a lot.

35
00:02:19,800 --> 00:02:23,040
It would cover up a lot of my
symptoms of pain.

36
00:02:23,720 --> 00:02:26,800
Just weird things that were
happening that no one could

37
00:02:26,800 --> 00:02:28,400
figure out.
But it wasn't constant.

38
00:02:28,440 --> 00:02:32,560
It was just here and there.
I started dating my husband my

39
00:02:32,560 --> 00:02:36,760
freshman year of college and we
had a pretty good, I had a

40
00:02:36,760 --> 00:02:40,400
pretty good four years of decent
health, just weird little blips

41
00:02:40,400 --> 00:02:45,560
on the radar.
And I'd say probably when I was

42
00:02:45,560 --> 00:02:53,040
22, I started having really
horrible pain in my bladder.

43
00:02:53,480 --> 00:02:56,880
But I had had this kind of in
the past and I thought it was a

44
00:02:56,880 --> 00:03:00,320
urinary tract infection.
And so of course, you drink

45
00:03:00,320 --> 00:03:02,520
cranberry juice that doesn't do
anything.

46
00:03:03,000 --> 00:03:06,040
And then it just got worse and
worse and worse.

47
00:03:06,320 --> 00:03:11,960
So I went to like every doctor.
This is back in, gosh, 1998.

48
00:03:12,520 --> 00:03:15,360
I went to every doctor you could
think of and they just didn't

49
00:03:15,360 --> 00:03:17,440
know what I had.
They just said you don't have an

50
00:03:17,440 --> 00:03:21,040
infection.
But the pain and I was at this

51
00:03:21,040 --> 00:03:26,520
point I was bleeding just pure
blood when I would go pee and I

52
00:03:26,520 --> 00:03:30,800
was, it was just excruciating.
And I just gotten engaged and I

53
00:03:30,800 --> 00:03:34,200
was getting ready to start a job
and I was thinking I can, I

54
00:03:34,200 --> 00:03:35,840
can't do this.
I don't, I don't know what's

55
00:03:35,840 --> 00:03:37,560
going on.
I'm 22 years old.

56
00:03:38,200 --> 00:03:43,160
And so I started, I went to a
urologist and they said, well,

57
00:03:43,160 --> 00:03:46,640
you might have something called
IC interstitial cystitis, but we

58
00:03:46,640 --> 00:03:49,960
don't really know what it is.
We don't know what what has

59
00:03:49,960 --> 00:03:52,080
caused.
We don't know really what's

60
00:03:52,080 --> 00:03:54,880
going to go on.
And I said, well, OK, is there a

61
00:03:54,880 --> 00:03:57,600
specialist in this?
So I finally found a specialist,

62
00:03:58,240 --> 00:04:04,600
which is very rare in 1998.
And I went to Beaumont, which is

63
00:04:04,600 --> 00:04:07,960
in Royal Oak in Michigan.
And probably one of the top guys

64
00:04:07,960 --> 00:04:14,320
that is the the IC specialist.
I still see him today and he's

65
00:04:14,480 --> 00:04:17,600
he did a bunch of tests.
You have to have a camera go in

66
00:04:17,600 --> 00:04:19,959
and look at your bladder and
basically what it is, is you

67
00:04:19,959 --> 00:04:22,120
have open ulcers in your
bladder.

68
00:04:22,120 --> 00:04:25,720
The what your bladder lining has
worn away and you just have

69
00:04:25,720 --> 00:04:28,400
these open ulcers that are in
your bladder that we don't know

70
00:04:28,400 --> 00:04:31,000
why they're there.
So it's not infection, you just

71
00:04:31,000 --> 00:04:35,160
have ulcers in your bladder.
So I had a choice at that time

72
00:04:35,160 --> 00:04:40,600
to start medication, to build a
fake lining in my bladder, start

73
00:04:40,600 --> 00:04:43,520
pain medication, which I had to
at that time.

74
00:04:43,520 --> 00:04:48,560
I had to do something in until I
could heal up the ulcers and

75
00:04:48,560 --> 00:04:52,360
then change my diet completely.
So it's called an IC diet.

76
00:04:52,920 --> 00:04:57,680
And at that point I had been
drinking a lot in my life and I

77
00:04:57,680 --> 00:05:02,120
had to absolutely cold Turkey,
cut out alcohol.

78
00:05:02,960 --> 00:05:05,680
Like right away it was just cold
Turkey.

79
00:05:06,000 --> 00:05:08,760
No alcohol, no caffeine, no
nothing acidic.

80
00:05:09,320 --> 00:05:15,120
So my life became bland.
Mashed potatoes, macaroni, I

81
00:05:15,120 --> 00:05:18,000
mean, anything that was the most
bland food you could ever, ever

82
00:05:18,000 --> 00:05:19,760
want to to eat.
That's what I had to eat.

83
00:05:19,760 --> 00:05:21,520
Water and milk, that's all I
could eat.

84
00:05:22,360 --> 00:05:26,320
And that went on for about a
year and I got better.

85
00:05:27,120 --> 00:05:31,040
We moved to Colorado and I
thought, oh, I'm, I'm going to

86
00:05:31,040 --> 00:05:33,480
have a mixed drink one night.
I'm better.

87
00:05:35,040 --> 00:05:41,000
Threw myself right back into it
again and I said I can't do this

88
00:05:41,000 --> 00:05:42,640
anymore, I have to stick to my
diet.

89
00:05:43,080 --> 00:05:46,640
In between this I was taking
pain medication and in those

90
00:05:46,640 --> 00:05:50,280
days they gave you whatever they
were trying to give me

91
00:05:50,280 --> 00:05:52,840
methadone, they were trying to
give me all sorts of stuff.

92
00:05:52,840 --> 00:05:56,000
And I think at that time I was
just going to take, I was

93
00:05:56,000 --> 00:06:00,680
probably 89 lbs soap and wet.
So I think I would take like 1/2

94
00:06:00,680 --> 00:06:03,800
a Percocet just to get me by for
like a month, like a day.

95
00:06:04,840 --> 00:06:08,080
And then I get better.
And then I'd stick to my IC

96
00:06:08,080 --> 00:06:11,040
diet.
And that kind of went on for I

97
00:06:11,120 --> 00:06:16,680
would say like 10 years.
And then I got pregnant with my

98
00:06:16,680 --> 00:06:19,760
daughter and I went into
remission, which is very common

99
00:06:19,760 --> 00:06:24,640
when you're pregnant with IC.
And this is kind of where my

100
00:06:24,640 --> 00:06:27,600
health, it's like something
about pregnancy just brings out

101
00:06:27,600 --> 00:06:33,480
stuff and your body had a
healthy pregnancy, had her and

102
00:06:33,840 --> 00:06:37,560
I, I, I just lost too much
blood.

103
00:06:37,560 --> 00:06:40,880
I had an emergency C-section.
I ended up having postpartum

104
00:06:40,880 --> 00:06:45,640
psychosis.
I ended up getting seizures from

105
00:06:45,640 --> 00:06:48,400
that, from something, it was
something with the spinal damage

106
00:06:48,400 --> 00:06:51,160
from the Spinal Tap.
It was a mess.

107
00:06:51,640 --> 00:06:55,520
So that started on my severe
depression kick.

108
00:06:55,600 --> 00:06:58,480
So then I have IC and
depression, which the IC was

109
00:06:58,480 --> 00:07:00,160
still kind of in remission a
little bit.

110
00:07:00,880 --> 00:07:05,320
And so then that started my
journey with living with IC and

111
00:07:05,320 --> 00:07:08,600
then deep, deep depression,
which I'd never had ever.

112
00:07:09,280 --> 00:07:13,840
And then I would say I waited.
I had to wait five years to get

113
00:07:13,840 --> 00:07:16,960
pregnant again with Griffin
because I was not well.

114
00:07:17,120 --> 00:07:19,760
I was just not well.
And I maybe had one or two

115
00:07:19,760 --> 00:07:22,400
episodes where I had to go back
on some pain medication in

116
00:07:22,400 --> 00:07:26,120
between them.
But it wasn't a big deal.

117
00:07:26,120 --> 00:07:29,720
I didn't have to do it for long.
And then I had Griffin had a

118
00:07:29,760 --> 00:07:31,720
actually a really great
pregnancy.

119
00:07:32,040 --> 00:07:34,640
Everything went well, still in
remission.

120
00:07:34,640 --> 00:07:41,440
And then I would say maybe about
2018, I started feeling like I

121
00:07:41,440 --> 00:07:45,440
was sitting on a rock, like
something was in my pelvic area.

122
00:07:46,280 --> 00:07:49,120
And I'm like, this is just
bizarre.

123
00:07:49,120 --> 00:07:53,200
Do I have a pelvic infection?
Do I have a, do I have cancer?

124
00:07:53,200 --> 00:07:57,920
Like what's going on went to
every doctor you could think of

125
00:07:59,520 --> 00:08:01,200
at this point.
I'm used to doctors.

126
00:08:01,680 --> 00:08:04,640
I'm used.
I, I can, I will push, I will

127
00:08:04,640 --> 00:08:08,040
push and push and push and I
will go to every doctor until I

128
00:08:08,040 --> 00:08:09,960
get what I want.
Because I have been doing this

129
00:08:09,960 --> 00:08:16,240
since I was 22 and I finally my
gynecologist is like, let's give

130
00:08:16,240 --> 00:08:19,960
you a pelvic floor MRI and
everybody else was giving me MRI

131
00:08:19,960 --> 00:08:23,320
is up.
So they went lumbar up and this

132
00:08:23,320 --> 00:08:30,360
one was lumbar to your tailbone.
And right away a big cyst in my

133
00:08:30,360 --> 00:08:37,440
sacrum popped up.
It was a big on my S3 and it was

134
00:08:37,440 --> 00:08:38,880
pretty big.
And they're like, well, that's a

135
00:08:38,880 --> 00:08:41,760
Tarloff cyst.
They're like, usually these are

136
00:08:41,919 --> 00:08:43,840
asymptomatic.
And I said, well, I'm telling

137
00:08:43,840 --> 00:08:46,120
you, I have pain.
And it felt like I was sitting

138
00:08:46,120 --> 00:08:51,160
in Iraq and I had horrible pain
in my like, lower sacrum and my

139
00:08:51,360 --> 00:08:54,880
left part of my butt.
And it was to the point where I

140
00:08:54,880 --> 00:08:57,920
could barely walk now.
And then also my urine would

141
00:08:57,920 --> 00:08:59,800
just trickle out, just trickle
out.

142
00:08:59,880 --> 00:09:02,360
And I was like, this is crazy.
Like, what's going on?

143
00:09:02,880 --> 00:09:08,320
So I looked up Tarlov, cyst
specialist, and number one was

144
00:09:08,320 --> 00:09:10,640
Doctor Frank Feigenbaum in
Dallas.

145
00:09:11,120 --> 00:09:16,080
So I called him and I said, can
I fly?

146
00:09:16,080 --> 00:09:18,200
I mean, I barely could drive at
this point.

147
00:09:18,640 --> 00:09:20,640
I said I need to come in and
have a consultation.

148
00:09:20,640 --> 00:09:24,080
I got all my MRI reports.
I said no one wants to do

149
00:09:24,080 --> 00:09:26,560
anything at U of M No one wants
to treat it.

150
00:09:26,560 --> 00:09:29,160
And if they did, they wanted to
do some weird procedure that I

151
00:09:29,160 --> 00:09:32,480
read up on and everybody and
everybody was saying no, don't

152
00:09:32,480 --> 00:09:36,320
have the aspiration of the cyst
flew into Dallas.

153
00:09:37,080 --> 00:09:39,240
He looked at my MRI.
He said all of your symptoms

154
00:09:39,240 --> 00:09:41,960
correlate to Tarloff's cyst
disease, which is basically a,

155
00:09:43,040 --> 00:09:47,120
it's basically a fluid filled
cyst on your, your spinal nerve

156
00:09:47,120 --> 00:09:53,320
root.
And it's, it's, I guess, spinal.

157
00:09:53,760 --> 00:09:57,800
What's the spinal fluid that
balloons your nerve root out and

158
00:09:57,800 --> 00:09:59,680
then starts compressing all the
other nerves.

159
00:09:59,680 --> 00:10:01,600
So that's why my urine was
trickling out.

160
00:10:01,960 --> 00:10:04,040
That's why I felt like I was
sitting on a rock.

161
00:10:04,760 --> 00:10:06,560
And he said, I can do the
surgery.

162
00:10:06,840 --> 00:10:08,880
You'll be here, you'll be in
hospital for 10 days.

163
00:10:08,880 --> 00:10:10,440
And then you'll have to for
seven days.

164
00:10:10,440 --> 00:10:13,520
And then you'll be recovering
for 10 days in Dallas.

165
00:10:13,520 --> 00:10:16,600
So here I am in Michigan.
I have two children.

166
00:10:17,200 --> 00:10:19,040
And then I have to have somebody
go with me.

167
00:10:19,040 --> 00:10:24,440
And my husband at the time had a
really, really high paced sales

168
00:10:24,440 --> 00:10:26,680
job.
He was in global payments and he

169
00:10:26,680 --> 00:10:29,440
was always gone.
And I'm thinking, how am I going

170
00:10:29,440 --> 00:10:30,040
to do this?
Mom?

171
00:10:30,040 --> 00:10:32,520
My parents were very supportive.
So I knew I had help.

172
00:10:33,240 --> 00:10:37,680
So we flew to Dallas.
I and he said, listen, I'm going

173
00:10:37,680 --> 00:10:41,920
to stop the progression, but
your symptoms might still be

174
00:10:41,920 --> 00:10:43,600
there.
And I'm like, he's like, it's

175
00:10:43,600 --> 00:10:46,920
possible your nerves can get
better, but it if we don't do it

176
00:10:46,920 --> 00:10:50,360
now, it's possible that you
might not be able to, to walk

177
00:10:50,600 --> 00:10:52,280
pee again.
I mean, it was bad.

178
00:10:52,840 --> 00:10:58,480
So I went, he had the surgery.
It, it wasn't actually that it

179
00:10:58,480 --> 00:11:00,280
was bad.
Don't get me wrong, it was bad,

180
00:11:01,600 --> 00:11:03,320
but they, they were just
amazing.

181
00:11:03,320 --> 00:11:05,800
He knew what he was doing.
I loved Dallas.

182
00:11:05,800 --> 00:11:07,440
I had never been to Dallas
before.

183
00:11:09,320 --> 00:11:11,560
They were great.
The whole team was great.

184
00:11:11,760 --> 00:11:14,600
He's just phenomenal.
And I had like, I'd become

185
00:11:14,600 --> 00:11:17,120
friends with like two or three
other people that were having it

186
00:11:17,120 --> 00:11:20,000
done at the same time.
It's usually women that have

187
00:11:20,000 --> 00:11:22,560
these and they're you can go all
up down your spine.

188
00:11:22,560 --> 00:11:25,080
So now I have a propensity to
get them all up and down my

189
00:11:25,080 --> 00:11:27,600
spine.
I haven't gotten a new one,

190
00:11:27,600 --> 00:11:30,560
thank God.
But there was a young man that

191
00:11:30,560 --> 00:11:34,760
was with in the next room and he
was probably 20 years old and

192
00:11:34,760 --> 00:11:36,360
very unusual for a man to have
it.

193
00:11:36,560 --> 00:11:39,760
And he had had it.
And oh, the things that men have

194
00:11:39,760 --> 00:11:41,360
when they have it in their
sacrum.

195
00:11:41,840 --> 00:11:46,240
Terrible.
So I recovered, he said, a five

196
00:11:46,240 --> 00:11:51,720
year recovery, five years.
So I was like, oh man.

197
00:11:51,720 --> 00:11:53,720
And at this point I was working
part time.

198
00:11:53,920 --> 00:11:56,000
I'd never really been able to
go.

199
00:11:56,280 --> 00:11:59,120
First of all, I had children.
And second of all, my health was

200
00:11:59,120 --> 00:12:02,280
just never great.
It was just never, it was always

201
00:12:02,280 --> 00:12:04,720
something bizarre.
I had these myoclonic seizures.

202
00:12:04,720 --> 00:12:07,200
I had the deep depression.
I also had two children.

203
00:12:07,680 --> 00:12:10,480
I just was never able to go.
Now I had a career job.

204
00:12:10,480 --> 00:12:13,640
I work in engineering, but they
let me come back part time.

205
00:12:13,640 --> 00:12:17,400
It was amazing and they were
very, very, I was blessed.

206
00:12:17,400 --> 00:12:21,400
I got had a really good manager.
He's like you do do the work,

207
00:12:21,400 --> 00:12:23,480
you're fine.
Just come in 20 hours a week.

208
00:12:23,480 --> 00:12:28,600
I was on my husband's insurance,
thank God, and I just started

209
00:12:28,600 --> 00:12:31,120
healing.
It took about 6, I think I took

210
00:12:31,120 --> 00:12:36,200
six months off.
It took me a while and then I

211
00:12:36,200 --> 00:12:42,160
went back part time.
And I would say in 2022, I got

212
00:12:42,160 --> 00:12:45,400
in a bad car accident and
totaled my car.

213
00:12:45,400 --> 00:12:50,480
A guy had hit me in a roundabout
and it ignited something in my

214
00:12:50,480 --> 00:12:54,640
body, some kind of inflammatory
response.

215
00:12:54,720 --> 00:12:59,360
Not really sure at this.
Before that I had been

216
00:12:59,360 --> 00:13:04,840
acupuncture, massage therapy,
homeopathic I I have done it all

217
00:13:05,080 --> 00:13:10,920
anything natural I have done and
it nothing was helping me.

218
00:13:10,960 --> 00:13:13,600
I couldn't stop the pain.
I couldn't even, I couldn't even

219
00:13:14,680 --> 00:13:17,360
go to work barely if I did, I
was crying.

220
00:13:18,240 --> 00:13:21,320
It was bad.
And I was thinking either I'm

221
00:13:21,320 --> 00:13:25,760
going back on pain medication,
which I never did a lot.

222
00:13:26,040 --> 00:13:30,240
I was very careful with it, or I
got to do something else like a

223
00:13:30,240 --> 00:13:32,520
spinal simulator.
What do I do at this point?

224
00:13:32,520 --> 00:13:35,280
And people with Tarloff cyst
don't do well with spinal

225
00:13:35,280 --> 00:13:39,520
stimulators.
So I was like, gosh, I, I can't

226
00:13:39,520 --> 00:13:40,720
live the rest of my life at this
point.

227
00:13:40,720 --> 00:13:43,000
I'm, I think I, I was 45 when I
got it.

228
00:13:43,000 --> 00:13:46,400
So I was about 48, I think when
that well, 2022.

229
00:13:46,400 --> 00:13:49,320
I can't remember how old I was,
but I was, I was like, I cannot

230
00:13:49,320 --> 00:13:51,680
end my life now.
Like this is, I have a lot more

231
00:13:51,680 --> 00:13:55,960
life left.
So my husband said, you know,

232
00:13:55,960 --> 00:14:00,640
Amanda, his best friend's wife,
she has endometriosis really bad

233
00:14:00,800 --> 00:14:03,560
in the hospital, in the hospital
every month.

234
00:14:04,480 --> 00:14:06,720
He's like, she takes kratom
every night.

235
00:14:06,760 --> 00:14:09,880
Remember I told you that?
And I, I said, yeah, I remember.

236
00:14:09,880 --> 00:14:13,120
But I, I don't know.
I just didn't think anything of

237
00:14:13,120 --> 00:14:15,880
it because I, I was so weirded
out by it.

238
00:14:15,880 --> 00:14:18,080
I was like, no, I'm not taking a
tea, you know?

239
00:14:20,160 --> 00:14:24,560
And then he's like Stacey, don't
you remember in the mid 90s, my

240
00:14:24,560 --> 00:14:28,000
friend Bart, he was in the mid
90s.

241
00:14:28,120 --> 00:14:30,840
I remember Zach telling me his
friend Bart would crush up the

242
00:14:30,840 --> 00:14:34,960
kratom leaves, put him in
capsules and then mail.

243
00:14:35,120 --> 00:14:38,240
He was, he worked for a mail
order company in Ann Arbor and

244
00:14:38,240 --> 00:14:41,680
he would ship them to women that
have women's problems, whatever

245
00:14:41,680 --> 00:14:42,960
that meant.
That's about the only

246
00:14:42,960 --> 00:14:46,200
information I got on my husband.
I tried to before I talked to

247
00:14:46,200 --> 00:14:47,800
you and he was, that's all I got
out of them.

248
00:14:48,000 --> 00:14:50,920
So this was, I've heard this in
the mid to late 90s.

249
00:14:50,920 --> 00:14:54,320
I just thought, I have no idea
what this plant is.

250
00:14:54,960 --> 00:14:58,960
I just knew that if this guy
that he was seeing encapsulating

251
00:14:58,960 --> 00:15:00,600
it, I was, he was a little
sketchy.

252
00:15:00,600 --> 00:15:02,400
So I was like, I I'm not
touching this.

253
00:15:03,240 --> 00:15:05,960
But then when he knew and I was
desperate and I think this is

254
00:15:05,960 --> 00:15:08,560
what you hear a lot.
People are desperate because

255
00:15:08,560 --> 00:15:10,320
they're kind of weirded out by
kratom, right?

256
00:15:10,320 --> 00:15:14,760
I don't know what this is.
And I called Amanda and I said,

257
00:15:14,880 --> 00:15:18,680
how do you take it?
What do you take?

258
00:15:18,680 --> 00:15:23,680
Where do I go?
And she was just unbelievably

259
00:15:24,000 --> 00:15:26,560
helpful.
She gave me, you know, go to the

260
00:15:26,560 --> 00:15:33,040
AKA, look at vendor approved,
try little sample packs, you

261
00:15:33,040 --> 00:15:36,880
know, certain she went the whole
gamut, greens, Reds, whites, all

262
00:15:36,880 --> 00:15:40,040
that.
And I did, I ordered the stuff.

263
00:15:40,040 --> 00:15:45,800
I started out 1g, got one of
those teeny little scales start

264
00:15:45,800 --> 00:15:49,120
out 1g.
And it was probably, I think my

265
00:15:49,120 --> 00:15:51,240
first time taking kratom was
probably one of the funniest

266
00:15:51,240 --> 00:15:56,200
things that my family has seen.
We had just had a garage sale

267
00:15:56,440 --> 00:15:59,800
and I'm like I'm going to try my
kratom for the first time trying

268
00:15:59,800 --> 00:16:05,200
to green belly strain.
Did a 1g and remember I don't

269
00:16:05,200 --> 00:16:10,200
drink caffeine.
I took 1g and I could not stop

270
00:16:10,200 --> 00:16:15,920
talking like I literally could.
I was like, and I was outside

271
00:16:15,920 --> 00:16:17,840
and my family's like, what did
she take?

272
00:16:17,840 --> 00:16:20,880
Like at this point, I think Zach
is the only one, My husband is

273
00:16:20,880 --> 00:16:23,200
the only one that knew that I
had taken the creative.

274
00:16:23,320 --> 00:16:26,640
I could not stop talking Now it
didn't, it didn't really help

275
00:16:26,640 --> 00:16:31,360
with my pain at the point, but
it made me happy and I could not

276
00:16:31,360 --> 00:16:33,360
stop talking.
And it was they were laughing

277
00:16:33,360 --> 00:16:35,880
hysterically and they like they
will never forget the first day

278
00:16:35,880 --> 00:16:40,760
that I took it because I talked
nonstop.

279
00:16:41,160 --> 00:16:43,480
So then I'm thinking, well, I
got I need to increase this.

280
00:16:43,840 --> 00:16:51,280
So I think the next, I think I
went into it very slow, maybe

281
00:16:52,040 --> 00:16:56,440
two days later I did 2 grams.
OK, I can feel a little bit, but

282
00:16:56,440 --> 00:16:59,000
it made me a little jittery
because I remember I don't drink

283
00:16:59,000 --> 00:17:02,400
anything caffeinated so and I'm
super sensitive to medication.

284
00:17:02,400 --> 00:17:07,839
So I said, well, Amanda said
that sometimes the Reds can make

285
00:17:07,839 --> 00:17:09,440
you tired.
And you know how everybody says

286
00:17:09,440 --> 00:17:12,720
the Reds make the pain better?
Well, I tried the red and it

287
00:17:12,720 --> 00:17:15,680
didn't work for me.
It didn't even make me sleepy

288
00:17:15,680 --> 00:17:17,079
really.
It just did nothing.

289
00:17:17,560 --> 00:17:20,200
So but I'm thinking the greens
making me a little jittery.

290
00:17:20,200 --> 00:17:25,000
I'm just going to add a touch of
the red in I've got to 3G and I

291
00:17:25,000 --> 00:17:32,320
noticed I'm like, OK, that's
that is something like from head

292
00:17:32,720 --> 00:17:35,600
to toe.
My pain got better.

293
00:17:35,680 --> 00:17:38,240
I mean, I had really bad, you
know, the bladder pain and the

294
00:17:38,320 --> 00:17:42,440
sacral pain and the nerve pain
was just excruciating.

295
00:17:43,440 --> 00:17:47,600
And that went from an 8 to A2, I
would say 8 to a 2.

296
00:17:47,800 --> 00:17:51,680
And I was like, and I used to be
a big runner and I was like, I

297
00:17:51,680 --> 00:17:54,360
feel like I'm going to run.
And my husband's like slow it

298
00:17:54,360 --> 00:17:56,640
down.
You know, you just took this at

299
00:17:56,640 --> 00:17:59,520
your, this is a little just
let's adjust.

300
00:17:59,960 --> 00:18:04,920
So I kind of stayed with the
greens and Reds and I went up to

301
00:18:04,920 --> 00:18:08,400
eventually about a 3 1/2 grams.
And I'm one of those people that

302
00:18:08,400 --> 00:18:12,600
measure it out to the NTH.
I'm just real OCD that way.

303
00:18:12,840 --> 00:18:15,440
I know some people just dump it
and they're good.

304
00:18:15,520 --> 00:18:20,720
I am not that way.
I did one time take 4G and I

305
00:18:20,720 --> 00:18:22,640
threw it up.
So I know that I have a

306
00:18:22,640 --> 00:18:28,760
threshold for me personally.
And so 3 1/2 is my sweet spot.

307
00:18:29,120 --> 00:18:34,000
I alternate between different.
I have different strains of

308
00:18:34,000 --> 00:18:40,360
green and different vendors,
which I learned from you and

309
00:18:40,360 --> 00:18:45,440
other people, but I also learned
from my husband because he is a

310
00:18:45,440 --> 00:18:48,800
cannabis user and he would have
talked about strain confusion

311
00:18:49,280 --> 00:18:52,400
and stuff like that.
And he actually now works in the

312
00:18:52,400 --> 00:18:55,520
cannabis industry.
So he and they, the cannabis

313
00:18:55,600 --> 00:18:58,680
industry, they sell kratom in
Michigan at their places.

314
00:18:58,920 --> 00:19:01,720
I don't get it from there.
I get it from the the approved

315
00:19:01,720 --> 00:19:04,480
vendors.
But he had no, he had no by

316
00:19:04,480 --> 00:19:06,640
kratom for a long time.
And he's like, Stacey, you

317
00:19:06,640 --> 00:19:08,480
should have tried this 20 years
ago.

318
00:19:09,200 --> 00:19:11,240
I'm like, there's no way I would
have done it.

319
00:19:13,200 --> 00:19:17,680
So now I'm still bizarre.
I'm a little weird about it

320
00:19:17,680 --> 00:19:19,560
still.
I probably should take it every

321
00:19:19,560 --> 00:19:25,360
day, but I take it five days,
five times a day, five days,

322
00:19:25,720 --> 00:19:29,080
once a day, five days a week.
And I have two days off.

323
00:19:29,960 --> 00:19:33,560
And the reason I do that, and I
probably this is too much

324
00:19:33,560 --> 00:19:37,400
information, but Constipation.
And it doesn't matter what I do

325
00:19:39,360 --> 00:19:43,120
now that I I went through early
menopause because of my surgery.

326
00:19:43,240 --> 00:19:45,240
It threw me in an early
menopause at 45.

327
00:19:46,160 --> 00:19:52,040
And every single symptom that
you can have with menopause, I

328
00:19:52,040 --> 00:19:54,840
have had Constipation is one of
them.

329
00:19:55,040 --> 00:19:57,760
And so then you add kratom on to
it.

330
00:19:58,240 --> 00:20:00,320
It does not matter.
I think the only thing that it

331
00:20:00,320 --> 00:20:06,280
can dislodge anything is if I
take a fiber drink probiotic.

332
00:20:06,880 --> 00:20:09,280
Lacks, 2 Lacks.
I mean, it's ridiculous.

333
00:20:09,680 --> 00:20:14,320
So I take two days off just to
kind of give my body a little so

334
00:20:14,320 --> 00:20:17,880
I don't get used to the strains,
and then just to give my body a

335
00:20:17,880 --> 00:20:20,280
little bit of regular day.
Now those days are rough.

336
00:20:21,600 --> 00:20:26,840
I will admit that I sometimes
take a tramadol, 25 milligrams

337
00:20:26,840 --> 00:20:30,760
Tramadol, and I'll take a
Tylenol and an Aleve.

338
00:20:32,920 --> 00:20:34,440
My husband thinks it's
ridiculous.

339
00:20:34,440 --> 00:20:36,880
He's like, you should be taking
it all the time.

340
00:20:37,280 --> 00:20:39,720
He's like, why are you doing
this to yourself?

341
00:20:41,160 --> 00:20:45,720
I'm still working through that.
It's been since 2022.

342
00:20:46,320 --> 00:20:49,000
I'm still like finding new
vendors.

343
00:20:49,240 --> 00:20:53,040
I'm really like weird about
finding new vendors because I

344
00:20:53,040 --> 00:20:55,200
don't know, some people got me
all weirded out.

345
00:20:55,200 --> 00:20:58,080
They're like, you should test it
for fentanyl and all that other

346
00:20:58,080 --> 00:21:00,280
stuff.
And I was like, oh, don't put

347
00:21:00,280 --> 00:21:03,440
that in my brain.
I'm already a warrior and I'm

348
00:21:03,440 --> 00:21:05,640
getting it from their approved
vendors.

349
00:21:05,640 --> 00:21:08,560
So I was like, oh, OK, so I'm
going off of this list, you

350
00:21:08,560 --> 00:21:12,720
know, And yeah, that's kind of
where I am now.

351
00:21:14,000 --> 00:21:19,480
I took it today at about 10 and
I feel great.

352
00:21:20,040 --> 00:21:23,880
I mean, I felt like like with
with another thing with

353
00:21:23,880 --> 00:21:27,880
menopause is not only does my
back, my nerves hurt where my

354
00:21:27,880 --> 00:21:32,520
back is and my bladder, but the
joint pain that comes with

355
00:21:32,520 --> 00:21:36,600
menopause from head to toe.
I feel like I have the flu all

356
00:21:36,600 --> 00:21:39,800
the time.
Did not know that that would

357
00:21:39,800 --> 00:21:41,400
happen.
My mom had a hysterectomy at a

358
00:21:41,400 --> 00:21:43,400
very young age.
She didn't tell me about any.

359
00:21:43,440 --> 00:21:48,000
No one talks about this, but I
love to talk about this.

360
00:21:48,000 --> 00:21:50,480
I like to talk about kratom and
I like to talk about menopause.

361
00:21:52,200 --> 00:21:53,880
That sounds like a podcast you
just start.

362
00:21:54,800 --> 00:21:58,120
And my, that's all my
girlfriends and I talk about and

363
00:21:58,800 --> 00:22:02,360
I, it has helped me so much with
menopausal symptoms.

364
00:22:03,160 --> 00:22:08,560
The, the pain, that joint pain.
I mean, if I take it and I have

365
00:22:08,560 --> 00:22:11,600
all that my normal pain and the
joint pain and I take it and it

366
00:22:11,600 --> 00:22:16,760
just eases everything I can, I
can go out and run now I do like

367
00:22:16,760 --> 00:22:19,360
a run, walk.
I can do any kind of video, like

368
00:22:19,360 --> 00:22:24,120
workout video.
I mean, I can't I still have, if

369
00:22:24,120 --> 00:22:26,920
you'll see me shifting a lot, I
still can't sit normally.

370
00:22:26,920 --> 00:22:30,320
That's the one thing with is I
have a plate in my back where my

371
00:22:30,320 --> 00:22:33,240
sacrum is and it still hurts to
sit.

372
00:22:33,240 --> 00:22:36,640
That was the so I have a stand,
sit desk wherever I'm at.

373
00:22:38,760 --> 00:22:43,200
Driving hurts me tremendously to
this day, even if I have kratom,

374
00:22:43,360 --> 00:22:48,480
I can't drive very far.
So that kind of stopped me going

375
00:22:48,480 --> 00:22:51,160
for long distance drives, even
long plane rides.

376
00:22:51,880 --> 00:22:56,000
My in laws live in Spain.
It's a tough, tough flight over.

377
00:22:57,720 --> 00:23:01,280
I have two teenagers, so one's
almost 28, and they drive me

378
00:23:01,280 --> 00:23:05,960
around, so thank God.
But yeah, that's that's kind of

379
00:23:05,960 --> 00:23:08,840
a short Cliff Notes version of
my crazy life.

380
00:23:10,160 --> 00:23:13,600
Stacy, your story's amazing and
you're a great storyteller.

381
00:23:13,600 --> 00:23:17,200
I mean, you just painted the
entire picture and you did such

382
00:23:17,200 --> 00:23:20,400
a great job of that.
So thank you for for sharing all

383
00:23:20,400 --> 00:23:21,880
of that.
You know what's interesting with

384
00:23:21,880 --> 00:23:23,640
you?
And I think like many of us as

385
00:23:23,640 --> 00:23:27,560
we get older, you're so in tune
to your body and like you really

386
00:23:27,560 --> 00:23:32,240
are aware of everything.
Because when we're like that,

387
00:23:32,240 --> 00:23:37,040
we're able to understand more
than the doctor does many times,

388
00:23:37,080 --> 00:23:39,840
you know, because that we're
paying attention to every little

389
00:23:39,840 --> 00:23:42,720
detail.
Yeah, I, I have become my own

390
00:23:42,720 --> 00:23:47,960
advocate right away and I do the
same for my children and my

391
00:23:47,960 --> 00:23:53,640
husband.
I, I, I have probably had 95%

392
00:23:53,840 --> 00:24:01,360
bad doctors, 4% good doctors,
maybe one, well, No 3% good

393
00:24:01,360 --> 00:24:05,680
doctors and 1% excellent doctors
because I've been in the system

394
00:24:05,680 --> 00:24:08,320
since I was very young.
I'm about 50 now.

395
00:24:08,320 --> 00:24:12,320
So it's like I've seen, I've
seen and heard it all.

396
00:24:12,480 --> 00:24:16,800
And I, I go into certain
situations if I go into a new

397
00:24:16,800 --> 00:24:20,960
specialist and I could just tell
right away, I'm like, we're not

398
00:24:20,960 --> 00:24:22,640
going to get along.
You know what I mean?

399
00:24:23,880 --> 00:24:26,600
It's just not going to happen.
I do have a really fabulous

400
00:24:26,600 --> 00:24:28,920
doctor that's a homeopath and MD
right now.

401
00:24:29,560 --> 00:24:33,440
And she's, she's like, you can
do the Kratom or I can give you

402
00:24:33,440 --> 00:24:35,000
Tramadol.
What do you, I mean, she was the

403
00:24:35,000 --> 00:24:38,440
first doctor since they stopped
giving opioids.

404
00:24:38,600 --> 00:24:41,840
That's like, you know what,
you're a chronic pain patient.

405
00:24:42,400 --> 00:24:45,200
She's like, I know you don't
abuse it.

406
00:24:45,200 --> 00:24:47,840
If anything, you don't take
anything I give you like I've

407
00:24:47,840 --> 00:24:49,680
been on all I've been at all.
I've been on every

408
00:24:49,680 --> 00:24:52,720
antidepressant, I've been on
every gabapentin.

409
00:24:52,720 --> 00:24:56,360
I've been at all for pain and
nothing helped until I did grade

410
00:24:56,360 --> 00:24:57,720
them.
Not even when I take the

411
00:24:57,720 --> 00:25:02,760
tramadol during the off days
takes my pain from a nine to

412
00:25:02,760 --> 00:25:08,320
maybe a 5-6.
And then I have to take a leave

413
00:25:08,320 --> 00:25:10,880
and a Tylenol on top of it and
it still doesn't do anything.

414
00:25:11,360 --> 00:25:13,520
So again, like why am I doing
this to myself?

415
00:25:15,640 --> 00:25:18,200
Yeah, yeah, that's, it's so
interesting.

416
00:25:18,200 --> 00:25:21,000
Well, you know, when I was in
pain management for 9 years, I,

417
00:25:21,000 --> 00:25:24,800
I had never really ventured into
botanicals and, and supplements

418
00:25:24,800 --> 00:25:27,000
and stuff all that much.
So, you know, you don't know

419
00:25:27,000 --> 00:25:29,040
what you don't know, at least
for me.

420
00:25:29,040 --> 00:25:32,360
And so I was just like, grateful
I could get access to the

421
00:25:32,360 --> 00:25:35,480
opioids for my chronic pain.
And I was like, OK, well, at

422
00:25:35,480 --> 00:25:38,480
least I'm able to function more
and I can work more and do

423
00:25:38,480 --> 00:25:41,240
stuff.
And I'm like, OK, this is not

424
00:25:41,240 --> 00:25:42,720
bad.
I mean, I didn't feel great.

425
00:25:42,720 --> 00:25:44,560
And I still have a very high
pain level.

426
00:25:44,560 --> 00:25:48,560
I mean, my really good day would
be a six or seven easily.

427
00:25:48,560 --> 00:25:53,400
Like, I never was below that.
On a good day, bad days with all

428
00:25:53,400 --> 00:25:56,320
the opiates, I'd be at a 10 or I
told the doctor, I'm at 11.

429
00:25:56,320 --> 00:25:59,000
You know, like a lot of people
don't understand what we go

430
00:25:59,000 --> 00:26:01,480
through when we suffer from
really severe chronic pain.

431
00:26:02,080 --> 00:26:05,360
And when I lost that access, I'm
like, really freaking out.

432
00:26:05,360 --> 00:26:09,640
Like, I mean, it wasn't that
opiates were a magic pill for

433
00:26:09,640 --> 00:26:12,640
me, but it allowed me to not be
on disability, to be able to

434
00:26:12,680 --> 00:26:16,440
work, to be functioning, to be a
mom, to do all the things I

435
00:26:16,440 --> 00:26:18,920
wanted to do.
I couldn't do a lot of physical

436
00:26:18,920 --> 00:26:22,280
activity, but that was OK.
You learn to that.

437
00:26:22,280 --> 00:26:25,760
You learn that that's OK.
Yes, you really do.

438
00:26:25,760 --> 00:26:28,000
And that's like, I was an
athlete before, I'm not an

439
00:26:28,000 --> 00:26:29,560
athlete anymore, you know what I
mean?

440
00:26:29,560 --> 00:26:33,800
I at least can live my life and
I'm not in a wheelchair, right?

441
00:26:35,680 --> 00:26:38,560
I, yeah, I you got to put things
into perspective.

442
00:26:38,560 --> 00:26:43,160
And even, I mean, I remember
them trying to give me methadone

443
00:26:43,400 --> 00:26:46,080
and my husband's like, you're
not taking that.

444
00:26:46,720 --> 00:26:51,760
And I'm like, take something at
some point as before kratom And

445
00:26:51,800 --> 00:26:54,960
he knew it.
I mean, and he's he's like, take

446
00:26:54,960 --> 00:26:57,600
it if you need it.
But I think at that point I had

447
00:26:57,600 --> 00:27:00,280
gotten on some better
medication, but it, this was

448
00:27:00,280 --> 00:27:04,600
just such a Hayden was just such
a blessing to me.

449
00:27:05,680 --> 00:27:09,920
And I, I didn't even know it was
out there.

450
00:27:10,120 --> 00:27:12,400
You know, I knew it was out
there, but I didn't believe it.

451
00:27:12,480 --> 00:27:16,040
I didn't believe it.
I just assumed it would never

452
00:27:16,040 --> 00:27:19,320
happen with my pain because I
have the nerve pain is so bad.

453
00:27:19,320 --> 00:27:22,480
I thought, well, it's muscle
pain, it's endometriosis.

454
00:27:22,480 --> 00:27:24,880
No.
And I also have 5 ruptured dips

455
00:27:24,920 --> 00:27:29,120
in my neck.
And that was the car accident

456
00:27:29,640 --> 00:27:32,000
and I'm not having surgery on
that.

457
00:27:32,000 --> 00:27:34,800
I'm just, I just go to PTIII
mean it.

458
00:27:35,080 --> 00:27:37,640
I have to say sometimes my neck
pain is worse than my back pain.

459
00:27:37,640 --> 00:27:42,200
I don't know which one's worse.
So I say to my doctor sometime I

460
00:27:42,200 --> 00:27:44,240
said, listen, I feel like I'm
dying.

461
00:27:44,480 --> 00:27:47,960
Like do I, if someone would say
I, this is terrible to say and

462
00:27:48,080 --> 00:27:50,440
gosh, God, I don't mean this,
but I, it's like if someone

463
00:27:50,440 --> 00:27:52,520
would say I had cancer, like I
would not be shocked.

464
00:27:52,920 --> 00:27:55,480
Like that's how bad I felt.
Like my bones hurt.

465
00:27:55,520 --> 00:27:59,440
You know, you can't live like
that.

466
00:27:59,640 --> 00:28:03,280
You just can't.
It's to the point where the pain

467
00:28:03,280 --> 00:28:07,440
is so bad I shake, you know,
I'll start shaking and all I can

468
00:28:07,440 --> 00:28:09,880
do is lay down on the like on
the side.

469
00:28:10,480 --> 00:28:12,720
I can't stand the ground laying
down all the time.

470
00:28:12,720 --> 00:28:19,040
So kratom has just been amazing,
just with just a few side

471
00:28:19,040 --> 00:28:23,200
effects that it's not bad.
Trying the Constipation.

472
00:28:24,720 --> 00:28:28,640
I do notice that it does effects
my sex drive a little bit.

473
00:28:30,760 --> 00:28:33,800
That's just me.
I am trying to figure out if the

474
00:28:33,800 --> 00:28:37,000
30 lbs I gained was from
menopause or something.

475
00:28:37,000 --> 00:28:40,360
I don't know what it's from
because I work out and I don't

476
00:28:40,360 --> 00:28:43,480
eat very much, so I'm just like
a lot of people that take kratom

477
00:28:43,480 --> 00:28:46,920
say they lose weight.
I people have been all over the

478
00:28:46,920 --> 00:28:50,240
map with that because you know,
my TikTok so many times people

479
00:28:50,240 --> 00:28:54,000
ask questions and then like in a
comment, I'll turn into a video

480
00:28:54,000 --> 00:28:55,840
post so that everybody can
answer.

481
00:28:55,840 --> 00:28:59,080
And it's always interesting when
we have that particular subject

482
00:28:59,080 --> 00:29:03,480
because, you know, some people
say they, they've lost a lot of

483
00:29:03,480 --> 00:29:04,760
weight since they started
Kratom.

484
00:29:04,760 --> 00:29:06,280
Some people say I've gained
weight.

485
00:29:06,480 --> 00:29:09,520
You get a lot of us that say no
change, no change.

486
00:29:09,520 --> 00:29:12,640
It's just it's always across the
board, isn't it's never like

487
00:29:12,640 --> 00:29:14,840
this pinpoint.
I've heard sex drive.

488
00:29:14,840 --> 00:29:16,480
I've heard that one before from
people.

489
00:29:16,480 --> 00:29:20,080
Usually men will say that, but
sometimes I've heard that one.

490
00:29:20,360 --> 00:29:24,400
Constipation, I think is the
most common reaction with

491
00:29:24,400 --> 00:29:27,520
Kratom.
And but you know what, so was

492
00:29:27,520 --> 00:29:29,560
opiates.
I I actually had worse

493
00:29:29,560 --> 00:29:32,400
experience with that when I was
in pain management than I did

494
00:29:32,400 --> 00:29:34,320
with Kratom.
But what's interesting that I

495
00:29:34,320 --> 00:29:36,680
always tell people, because a
lot of people are like, I don't

496
00:29:36,680 --> 00:29:39,360
know what to take with with this
kratom Constipation.

497
00:29:39,760 --> 00:29:43,000
I said, look, when I was in pain
management, I had a lot of that

498
00:29:43,000 --> 00:29:46,480
was like my biggest adverse
reaction was dealing with that.

499
00:29:46,840 --> 00:29:51,480
And at one point my doctor had
me use Senna S, which is over

500
00:29:51,480 --> 00:29:53,760
the counter.
And you know, that one's good

501
00:29:53,760 --> 00:29:56,440
because the combination of the
softener and a laxative.

502
00:29:56,760 --> 00:29:58,840
And he says it's safe to take
every day.

503
00:29:58,840 --> 00:30:02,360
You could take 3A day and, and
that should help you

504
00:30:02,360 --> 00:30:04,680
tremendously because we were
going to put me on prescription

505
00:30:04,680 --> 00:30:05,840
one.
I'm like, well, if I can avoid a

506
00:30:05,840 --> 00:30:07,920
prescription one that's not as
strong.

507
00:30:08,160 --> 00:30:10,120
So he said, let's try this.
If it doesn't work, then we'll

508
00:30:10,120 --> 00:30:13,920
do the prescription Senna S3
times a day took care of me, you

509
00:30:13,920 --> 00:30:15,200
know, on the tail end of my
opiate.

510
00:30:15,280 --> 00:30:19,160
It's pain management days when
just because of the different

511
00:30:19,160 --> 00:30:21,800
meds we were using.
That was a lot worse than before

512
00:30:22,760 --> 00:30:25,920
when I switched to kratom and
everybody was talking about

513
00:30:25,920 --> 00:30:29,520
Constipation being, you know,
like the one big thing a lot of

514
00:30:29,520 --> 00:30:31,680
people talk about having to deal
with.

515
00:30:32,040 --> 00:30:33,480
I thought, well, I'm already
taking a Cinna S.

516
00:30:33,480 --> 00:30:36,680
I'll just continue taking it and
maybe I need more, maybe I need

517
00:30:36,680 --> 00:30:37,600
less.
Let's see.

518
00:30:38,080 --> 00:30:40,520
And I so I didn't stop the Cinna
S.

519
00:30:40,520 --> 00:30:42,840
So I did not have any
Constipation issues.

520
00:30:43,160 --> 00:30:46,600
And as a matter of fact, I even
tried taking less of it to see,

521
00:30:46,600 --> 00:30:48,240
well, maybe I don't need it
three times a day.

522
00:30:48,240 --> 00:30:51,640
Maybe I can take less of it.
And and I was like, OK, I'm just

523
00:30:51,640 --> 00:30:53,000
do it twice a day.
So I do it twice a day.

524
00:30:53,000 --> 00:30:56,040
And so all these years so I
still take the same over the.

525
00:30:56,040 --> 00:30:57,600
Counter.
That's amazing, yeah.

526
00:30:57,800 --> 00:30:59,480
And I sweat, but I take a little
bit less.

527
00:30:59,600 --> 00:31:03,000
And I've mentioned this quite a
few times in conversations with

528
00:31:03,000 --> 00:31:06,600
people and so many people said I
didn't think to try that one.

529
00:31:06,600 --> 00:31:09,360
And when people come back and
say, wow, that that really did

530
00:31:09,360 --> 00:31:11,880
help me.
Yep, Yep, I've been.

531
00:31:11,960 --> 00:31:16,560
I take a fiber trach in the
morning and then I take and then

532
00:31:16,560 --> 00:31:20,640
sometimes I'll push it with some
little Miralax in my water and

533
00:31:20,640 --> 00:31:26,280
that seems to be fine.
And yeah, I, I think it, I never

534
00:31:26,280 --> 00:31:29,440
had an issue with that before.
So it was like another thing.

535
00:31:30,960 --> 00:31:33,000
But yeah, I mean, there's
certain side effects.

536
00:31:33,000 --> 00:31:39,280
But to to be pain free and live
my life, I mean the, the small

537
00:31:39,280 --> 00:31:44,440
little things that I can deal
with outweighs dramatically.

538
00:31:44,760 --> 00:31:47,640
Now I do notice, I did notice
when I was there was a point

539
00:31:47,640 --> 00:31:52,240
when I was taking it twice a day
and I do I was doing it more

540
00:31:52,240 --> 00:31:56,880
twice a day.
I had my dentist tell me my

541
00:31:56,880 --> 00:32:00,360
teeth were getting stained and I
was like, you brush my teeth a

542
00:32:00,360 --> 00:32:03,960
lot.
I have, I'm just genetically

543
00:32:04,040 --> 00:32:05,520
predisposed to have terrible
teeth.

544
00:32:05,520 --> 00:32:08,440
Like I I could brush my teeth
all day long and I get cavities.

545
00:32:08,440 --> 00:32:10,600
That's just what happens.
To my teeth, I'm the same way.

546
00:32:10,880 --> 00:32:13,520
And it's like, I don't even
think if I took I would still

547
00:32:13,520 --> 00:32:15,600
get a cavity.
But they're like, we noticed

548
00:32:15,600 --> 00:32:17,840
that you have some staining and
that they're like as soon as

549
00:32:17,840 --> 00:32:20,120
you're due, you know, because I
wasn't brushing right after the

550
00:32:20,120 --> 00:32:22,720
kratom.
And so now I just brush real

551
00:32:22,720 --> 00:32:25,160
soon after just to hurry and get
the stain off.

552
00:32:25,160 --> 00:32:27,040
And then I just do some more
whitening stuff.

553
00:32:27,040 --> 00:32:29,640
But they haven't said anything
since about that.

554
00:32:30,920 --> 00:32:33,240
I haven't heard that one before
though I haven't heard anybody

555
00:32:33,240 --> 00:32:35,400
say about staining.
Though that's yeah, he's like,

556
00:32:35,400 --> 00:32:37,560
he's like a little stained and
I'm like.

557
00:32:38,000 --> 00:32:41,320
Like a coffee stain.
Yeah, and I didn't really ask

558
00:32:41,320 --> 00:32:44,200
what color because I was like,
oh, I'm probably my kratom,

559
00:32:44,240 --> 00:32:49,560
which I tell everybody about
because I everybody that's knows

560
00:32:49,560 --> 00:32:52,600
me knows that I've had pain for
a long, long time, especially at

561
00:32:52,600 --> 00:32:54,920
work.
I measure my little cup.

562
00:32:55,800 --> 00:32:59,320
I we have a beautiful, I have a
beautiful workplace.

563
00:32:59,320 --> 00:33:02,840
And when I go, I go in twice a
week and I get my hot water.

564
00:33:03,000 --> 00:33:05,440
And so I'm always in the
cafeteria, which is there's

565
00:33:05,440 --> 00:33:07,160
little cafeterias all throughout
the building.

566
00:33:07,560 --> 00:33:09,440
And so people, I've been there
15 years.

567
00:33:09,440 --> 00:33:11,600
So people come up and they're
like, Oh, you taking your drink?

568
00:33:11,600 --> 00:33:15,880
And I have educated more people
than I ever thought possible.

569
00:33:16,440 --> 00:33:19,800
And because people know me and
they know that I'm not somebody

570
00:33:19,800 --> 00:33:23,160
that's just would take anything.
They're very interested in it.

571
00:33:23,640 --> 00:33:27,480
And I've had quite a few people
start taking it.

572
00:33:28,200 --> 00:33:31,920
So it's, it's been interesting.
They'll say, look, my, my, my

573
00:33:31,920 --> 00:33:34,720
brother-in-law, he can't move,
come as a back pain.

574
00:33:34,720 --> 00:33:38,120
And, and I said, well, get, get
him in contact me.

575
00:33:38,120 --> 00:33:40,960
I'll you kind of need somebody
to kind of help you.

576
00:33:41,720 --> 00:33:44,280
It's a little bit intimidating
if you know nothing about it.

577
00:33:44,680 --> 00:33:47,080
And I've, I've done that with a
few people now.

578
00:33:47,280 --> 00:33:53,560
So I, I did have, I did have
somebody recently, I'd had a

579
00:33:54,240 --> 00:33:58,680
party for my husband for his
50th and I had somebody say,

580
00:33:58,960 --> 00:34:02,080
Stacy, I saw you post that you
were taking Kratom.

581
00:34:02,080 --> 00:34:04,480
So I, he goes, I have really bad
back pain.

582
00:34:04,480 --> 00:34:11,120
So he went to the gas station
and got the seven whatever or

583
00:34:11,120 --> 00:34:15,600
the and he said he had never
been so sick in his whole life.

584
00:34:15,600 --> 00:34:20,560
I said, you cannot take.
I told you to contact me and

585
00:34:20,560 --> 00:34:22,880
there was somebody else that was
there that was taking it.

586
00:34:22,880 --> 00:34:24,960
And they're like, no, you never
take that.

587
00:34:24,960 --> 00:34:28,159
You always do the crushed, you
know, purely of kratom.

588
00:34:28,480 --> 00:34:32,440
He's like, I didn't know.
And it was he's it soured him on

589
00:34:32,440 --> 00:34:35,040
it so badly that I don't know if
he's going to try it again.

590
00:34:35,040 --> 00:34:38,280
But I was trying to tell him
like that's not kratom so.

591
00:34:39,239 --> 00:34:41,840
Yeah, it's scary.
Like those products because

592
00:34:41,840 --> 00:34:44,360
they're synthesized and when
people hear us talk about

593
00:34:44,360 --> 00:34:46,159
kratom, we're just talking about
a leaf.

594
00:34:46,520 --> 00:34:49,560
But they go to a smoke shop or
convenience store and there's

595
00:34:49,600 --> 00:34:53,400
all these other extremely potent
products that are nothing like

596
00:34:53,400 --> 00:34:56,280
what you and I assume, but they
but they're called kratom.

597
00:34:56,520 --> 00:35:01,680
Yes, yes, it's very deceptive.
I actually had my, my old boss

598
00:35:01,680 --> 00:35:05,160
say to me, he comes up to me
last week.

599
00:35:05,160 --> 00:35:08,840
He said, is this the stuff
they're banning that you drink

600
00:35:08,840 --> 00:35:11,520
that green stuff?
And I said, no, it's not.

601
00:35:11,520 --> 00:35:16,520
And I tried to like go into it.
I felt like he was not listening

602
00:35:16,520 --> 00:35:18,200
to me very well.
But I mean, I was like, no,

603
00:35:18,200 --> 00:35:21,960
that's not kratom.
And I've had a few people say

604
00:35:21,960 --> 00:35:25,440
that to me and I've had to have
a few chats with them,

605
00:35:25,520 --> 00:35:29,080
especially my mom.
My mom, she's very conservative.

606
00:35:29,080 --> 00:35:31,240
She doesn't want me to eat
really taking anything.

607
00:35:31,240 --> 00:35:34,520
But she like encourages me now
she's like Stacy, just take

608
00:35:34,520 --> 00:35:36,760
Kratom.
She's like, why are she's like,

609
00:35:36,760 --> 00:35:38,720
why are you making yourself
suffer?

610
00:35:38,960 --> 00:35:42,600
Like why?
Because she sees me suffer and

611
00:35:43,640 --> 00:35:46,080
she's just like, I don't just
take it, stop being weird about

612
00:35:46,080 --> 00:35:48,120
it.
So I'll just take it.

613
00:35:48,760 --> 00:35:50,680
I love that.
Well, it's great to have support

614
00:35:50,680 --> 00:35:53,440
of your family for sure.
I think that's incredibly

615
00:35:53,440 --> 00:35:55,000
important.
So that leads me to my next

616
00:35:55,000 --> 00:35:57,640
question for you.
What did your family think when

617
00:35:57,640 --> 00:36:02,720
they saw you like suffer in pain
and then start switch to kratom

618
00:36:02,720 --> 00:36:04,360
and you're just doing so much
better?

619
00:36:04,360 --> 00:36:05,360
What?
What were their thoughts on

620
00:36:05,360 --> 00:36:08,640
that?
It was like a miracle, like it

621
00:36:08,640 --> 00:36:15,560
was like taking someone that was
almost an invalid and I was not

622
00:36:15,560 --> 00:36:20,280
only normal but almost back to
better than I was before because

623
00:36:20,280 --> 00:36:21,800
I've always been had some
issues.

624
00:36:22,400 --> 00:36:25,560
But not only that, but it helped
with my depression too.

625
00:36:27,440 --> 00:36:29,440
It gave me a little bit of a
mood lift.

626
00:36:30,360 --> 00:36:32,440
I felt happy.
I didn't, I don't feel any

627
00:36:32,440 --> 00:36:33,960
euphoria.
I don't feel.

628
00:36:34,480 --> 00:36:37,440
I just feel happier.
Maybe that's also because I

629
00:36:37,440 --> 00:36:41,040
don't have any pain, but I think
everybody thought it was a

630
00:36:41,040 --> 00:36:42,720
miracle.
My mom at first was a little

631
00:36:42,720 --> 00:36:44,760
skeptical because of course you
don't really know.

632
00:36:44,880 --> 00:36:48,600
But she also trusts me and she
knows I'm very, very picky with

633
00:36:48,600 --> 00:36:50,600
what I take, like any
medication.

634
00:36:51,600 --> 00:36:55,840
And my husband was amazed.
He was like I he, we had known

635
00:36:55,840 --> 00:36:59,000
that our friend that had
infometerosis, she had sworn by

636
00:36:59,000 --> 00:37:03,640
it not had to go back to the
hospital in years now because of

637
00:37:03,640 --> 00:37:06,160
it.
And I'm thinking, well, maybe

638
00:37:06,160 --> 00:37:10,840
that's just her, you know, But
when it hit my nerve pain, I was

639
00:37:10,840 --> 00:37:15,280
like, is this a fluke?
You know, like it's just like I

640
00:37:15,280 --> 00:37:16,680
didn't know what to think.
Actually.

641
00:37:16,680 --> 00:37:20,840
It was shocking to me that a
plant leaf could do this.

642
00:37:22,240 --> 00:37:24,760
My husband was shocked.
Everybody was shocked.

643
00:37:24,760 --> 00:37:28,520
And then they were they were
like, continue taking it like

644
00:37:28,520 --> 00:37:31,760
obviously be careful, don't
overdo it, which obviously if I

645
00:37:31,760 --> 00:37:35,200
did like I took the 4G and I
threw it up like I'm very

646
00:37:35,200 --> 00:37:37,800
sensitive.
So but they're they're very

647
00:37:37,800 --> 00:37:41,840
supportive.
My kids know what it is.

648
00:37:42,360 --> 00:37:47,360
I educate them on that.
Yeah, I don't all both of my

649
00:37:47,360 --> 00:37:50,280
friends when I have two good
girlfriends from college, I just

650
00:37:50,440 --> 00:37:54,560
went on a vacation with one of
them and she knows I measure out

651
00:37:54,560 --> 00:37:56,920
my Kratom before we do anything
during the day.

652
00:37:57,480 --> 00:37:59,480
And it's like no one even says
anything.

653
00:37:59,760 --> 00:38:01,920
They're just so used to it, you
know.

654
00:38:01,920 --> 00:38:05,680
And if I say and I kind of like
I don't drink it fast like I I

655
00:38:05,920 --> 00:38:10,040
put it in like a mug like this
fill up with hot water and I

656
00:38:10,040 --> 00:38:12,400
kind of believe it or not, I can
handle the taste.

657
00:38:13,240 --> 00:38:14,920
There's something about it I
don't mind.

658
00:38:14,920 --> 00:38:18,640
I know I probably want the weird
ones, but a small percentage of

659
00:38:18,640 --> 00:38:21,080
y'all that's.
For sure, you know I have.

660
00:38:22,000 --> 00:38:26,000
I've always had low iron like
and so I crave like earthy

661
00:38:26,000 --> 00:38:30,600
tastes and so like beets,
anything that's earthy tastes

662
00:38:30,600 --> 00:38:34,160
that people mostly don't like I
like.

663
00:38:34,200 --> 00:38:36,880
I like very earthy taste.
So this do I love it?

664
00:38:36,880 --> 00:38:41,160
No, but I can sip on this puppy
for a good 30 minutes.

665
00:38:41,680 --> 00:38:42,480
Wow.
Which is probably.

666
00:38:42,480 --> 00:38:44,560
When my teeth get.
Stained, I was about to say,

667
00:38:44,560 --> 00:38:46,760
because I was.
Curious, you know, like how are

668
00:38:46,760 --> 00:38:51,000
you drinking it like like I I do
it as a tea as well, but I just

669
00:38:51,000 --> 00:38:53,720
do small amount of water.
I just want to mix it up really

670
00:38:53,720 --> 00:38:56,080
good, add some orange juice,
drink it really fast or some

671
00:38:56,080 --> 00:38:59,800
kind of juice drink it really.
So I mean, and I and even drink

672
00:38:59,800 --> 00:39:03,040
it really fast in the beginning
is like this tastes so bad.

673
00:39:03,160 --> 00:39:07,720
But I know, I know.
But one day, yeah, I don't know

674
00:39:07,720 --> 00:39:10,560
how.
So even one day into my journey,

675
00:39:10,560 --> 00:39:13,600
like couple years in, I'm like,
what if I use a straw?

676
00:39:13,640 --> 00:39:16,320
So then they'll go down.
Then I don't have to taste it as

677
00:39:16,320 --> 00:39:19,000
much, even though I'm still
drinking a very small amount of

678
00:39:19,000 --> 00:39:21,160
the liquid part of it.
And so I did a straw.

679
00:39:21,160 --> 00:39:24,520
I'm like, that was easier.
I wish I'd known to do that in

680
00:39:24,520 --> 00:39:26,520
the beginning.
So I always tell people if

681
00:39:26,520 --> 00:39:29,200
they're having, if they're doing
swamp water, like like I'm not

682
00:39:29,200 --> 00:39:30,840
going to do toss and wash.
That's not for me.

683
00:39:31,840 --> 00:39:34,680
I'm going to just make it like
the little tea tea, but not a

684
00:39:34,680 --> 00:39:38,600
big tea like I, you know, those
are all that drink a big drink.

685
00:39:38,640 --> 00:39:41,840
I'm like, no, I just want to be
a little like a cappuccino.

686
00:39:41,840 --> 00:39:45,200
Like I just yeah, mix the powder
in with with a small amount of

687
00:39:45,200 --> 00:39:48,480
liquid as it would take to mix
it in, add some juice, slam it

688
00:39:48,480 --> 00:39:51,160
down really quick and and now
I'm getting my 6 hour pain

689
00:39:51,160 --> 00:39:54,400
release.
Yeah, but a straw did help a lot

690
00:39:54,440 --> 00:39:58,600
and and there probably it would
be a way to avoid staining teeth

691
00:39:58,600 --> 00:40:01,480
if but like if you like sipping
it, I can totally understand

692
00:40:01,480 --> 00:40:02,880
like and it's a routine you
have.

693
00:40:03,040 --> 00:40:05,560
It's a routine and I do.
This, like this is what I drink

694
00:40:05,560 --> 00:40:07,400
out of it earlier.
I mean, I probably fill it to

695
00:40:07,400 --> 00:40:09,440
like right here with hot, like
hot water.

696
00:40:09,440 --> 00:40:12,840
And then I do my 3 1/2 and it
probably takes me about 20

697
00:40:12,840 --> 00:40:17,000
minutes to drink.
It's something about, yeah.

698
00:40:17,600 --> 00:40:21,080
It's something.
I don't know, it's just my way.

699
00:40:21,120 --> 00:40:24,280
It's just my way.
And I for some reason it's I'm

700
00:40:24,280 --> 00:40:26,600
not going to say it tastes good.
It just doesn't bother me.

701
00:40:28,000 --> 00:40:29,720
And so I just, I'm able to do
it.

702
00:40:29,720 --> 00:40:31,920
I know I have given to my
husband a few times and he's

703
00:40:31,920 --> 00:40:35,200
like, he's like gagging like I'm
like, give me a break.

704
00:40:35,600 --> 00:40:38,280
You could not be gagging right
now.

705
00:40:38,280 --> 00:40:41,240
And he chugs it and it's I've
given it to him.

706
00:40:41,240 --> 00:40:44,160
He has, he's a snowboarder, A
skateboarder.

707
00:40:44,160 --> 00:40:48,600
He has so many injuries.
So now he has pins are all over

708
00:40:48,600 --> 00:40:52,160
and cannabis is his thing.
So it works for him.

709
00:40:52,160 --> 00:40:54,560
But every now and then I said,
why don't you try some kratom

710
00:40:55,160 --> 00:40:57,960
and I'll give it to him.
And it does work.

711
00:40:57,960 --> 00:41:00,920
He likes it, but he has to pound
it really fast.

712
00:41:01,240 --> 00:41:03,440
And so I make it a little, I
don't make it as hot.

713
00:41:03,440 --> 00:41:04,960
I make it pretty hot when I
drink it.

714
00:41:05,880 --> 00:41:08,480
He pounds it and then he's like,
Oh my gosh, how do you do that?

715
00:41:08,960 --> 00:41:14,520
And I'm like, I don't know, I
just do, you know, And then I've

716
00:41:14,520 --> 00:41:17,160
had a few people at work,
they're like, can I taste that?

717
00:41:17,240 --> 00:41:19,760
It looks disgusting.
And I'm like, sure.

718
00:41:19,760 --> 00:41:23,400
And they're like, Oh my gosh,
you're drinking that for like at

719
00:41:23,400 --> 00:41:25,360
least 1520 minutes.
I'm like, I know.

720
00:41:26,160 --> 00:41:29,160
But it's, it's just, it's
comforting to me, you know?

721
00:41:29,520 --> 00:41:31,560
Yeah, no, that makes.
I totally get that, and that

722
00:41:31,560 --> 00:41:33,920
makes perfect sense.
And I also think it's

723
00:41:33,920 --> 00:41:38,360
interesting that, you know, your
system is five days on, two days

724
00:41:38,360 --> 00:41:40,440
off.
You know, the other people do

725
00:41:40,440 --> 00:41:41,840
that.
I mean, you have to figure out

726
00:41:41,840 --> 00:41:44,840
what works for you and what you
know, what helps you, what

727
00:41:44,840 --> 00:41:48,600
you're comfortable with.
In my case, I've taken it every

728
00:41:48,600 --> 00:41:50,600
day for six years, over six
years.

729
00:41:50,600 --> 00:41:52,040
I've never taken a tolerance
break.

730
00:41:52,200 --> 00:41:54,640
I've never needed to.
And I don't know if it's from

731
00:41:54,640 --> 00:41:58,760
rotating vendors and strains.
When I first started, people

732
00:41:58,760 --> 00:42:01,280
that knew more than I did would
talk about that.

733
00:42:01,280 --> 00:42:04,760
They would say the best way to
avoid tolerance issues is to

734
00:42:04,760 --> 00:42:07,240
always be rotating.
And I thought, well, that's

735
00:42:07,240 --> 00:42:08,760
interesting.
And I was already buying from

736
00:42:08,760 --> 00:42:11,320
several different companies.
I thought, well, I can just

737
00:42:11,320 --> 00:42:14,120
regularly do that.
So I always have different ones

738
00:42:14,120 --> 00:42:16,680
to rotate.
And because I was when I was

739
00:42:16,680 --> 00:42:19,440
still experimenting, you want to
try other brands just to see

740
00:42:19,440 --> 00:42:22,480
like you get that point where
like, well, maybe this next one

741
00:42:22,480 --> 00:42:24,200
will be better.
And you're like, oh, this one is

742
00:42:24,200 --> 00:42:26,040
better.
And then you go to another one.

743
00:42:26,040 --> 00:42:28,240
You go, oh, that was mediocre.
OK, I see.

744
00:42:28,320 --> 00:42:30,200
Some are really good, some are
mediocre.

745
00:42:30,200 --> 00:42:33,160
Yes.
It really lets me down like I'll

746
00:42:33,160 --> 00:42:35,840
get the sample packs and it's
like a kid opening a Christmas

747
00:42:35,840 --> 00:42:39,040
present and I'm like, oh, it
looks really green like is this?

748
00:42:39,360 --> 00:42:42,400
And sometimes it just doesn't
hit like I felt nothing.

749
00:42:42,960 --> 00:42:49,440
And I've gone through at least
5-6 vendors and I still go back

750
00:42:49,440 --> 00:42:53,960
to the one and it's just, I
can't get that level.

751
00:42:53,960 --> 00:42:56,320
Whatever.
I don't know what they it's a

752
00:42:56,320 --> 00:43:00,320
green strain and I, I don't know
what they specifically do.

753
00:43:00,320 --> 00:43:02,280
It looks like a higher
percentage.

754
00:43:02,760 --> 00:43:04,520
I can never say the word of what
exactly.

755
00:43:04,520 --> 00:43:06,160
Yeah.
Midragaining, yes.

756
00:43:06,480 --> 00:43:08,000
There's multiple.
Ways of saying that?

757
00:43:08,000 --> 00:43:10,480
I just yeah, midragaining.
Midragaining I.

758
00:43:10,760 --> 00:43:14,880
Always say, I see, I do well
with the high mint greens is

759
00:43:14,880 --> 00:43:17,280
what I've noticed.
Because some, some of the

760
00:43:17,280 --> 00:43:21,920
vendors will list what that
percentage of the medragynine is

761
00:43:22,560 --> 00:43:25,760
or you go look up the QR code or
go to their website for their

762
00:43:25,760 --> 00:43:28,880
certificate analysis to see it.
But some of them like some of

763
00:43:28,880 --> 00:43:31,400
the brains I like, they actually
have it right on the package,

764
00:43:31,400 --> 00:43:35,080
the amount of the medragynine.
And I've noticed when it's the

765
00:43:35,080 --> 00:43:38,360
higher ones, I get the best pain
relief.

766
00:43:38,360 --> 00:43:40,720
But everybody's different.
Everybody's different.

767
00:43:41,160 --> 00:43:44,680
If I go down a certain
percentage, if it's like a below

768
00:43:44,680 --> 00:43:49,120
for me personally, if it's a
below a 1.4, yeah, I don't feel

769
00:43:49,120 --> 00:43:51,480
anything.
So I have to be specific.

770
00:43:52,200 --> 00:43:55,360
I was like I said, adding a
little red here and there just

771
00:43:55,360 --> 00:43:57,320
to sometimes I get the jitters a
little.

772
00:43:58,560 --> 00:44:03,680
I have tried white White's too.
Much I felt.

773
00:44:04,040 --> 00:44:09,120
I felt like I was like, oh, I
just felt very jittery and I

774
00:44:09,120 --> 00:44:13,200
felt like my skin was crawling
and I, I didn't like it red just

775
00:44:13,200 --> 00:44:15,680
didn't really.
Maybe it was a little calmy

776
00:44:16,200 --> 00:44:18,760
maybe, but nothing for pain.
Same here.

777
00:44:18,800 --> 00:44:19,800
Same here.
It's.

778
00:44:19,800 --> 00:44:22,920
Just sometimes I might feel a
little bit calmer with it, but

779
00:44:22,920 --> 00:44:25,320
no pain relief.
It's like, okay, but I want pain

780
00:44:25,320 --> 00:44:26,480
relief.
That's the only reason why I

781
00:44:26,480 --> 00:44:28,040
take this.
The only reason why I take it I

782
00:44:28,040 --> 00:44:29,280
would love.
To get some good.

783
00:44:29,280 --> 00:44:31,880
Sleep from it.
When people talk about the best

784
00:44:31,880 --> 00:44:35,800
sleep they've had from red
kratom, I'm like, I wish that

785
00:44:35,800 --> 00:44:37,480
worked for me, too, but it never
has.

786
00:44:37,480 --> 00:44:39,960
And that's OK.
Because for me, the main thing,

787
00:44:39,960 --> 00:44:42,360
if I can get pain relief for my
neck and back with my

788
00:44:42,360 --> 00:44:44,120
degenerative disk disease, I'm
happy.

789
00:44:44,360 --> 00:44:47,320
Now I have other pains.
You know, I don't look it, but

790
00:44:47,320 --> 00:44:49,360
I'm 60.
And yeah, you look great.

791
00:44:49,760 --> 00:44:51,200
Thank you.
Good genes, my mom.

792
00:44:51,200 --> 00:44:53,400
Always looked young, my mom
always looked young and I'm

793
00:44:53,400 --> 00:44:55,000
like, I hope I'm like that when
I get older.

794
00:44:55,520 --> 00:44:58,480
But we're going to have other
pains as we age and kratom

795
00:44:58,480 --> 00:45:00,840
doesn't always help my other
joint pains and stuff.

796
00:45:01,080 --> 00:45:05,240
And that's OK because my main is
a degenerative, this disease.

797
00:45:05,240 --> 00:45:08,480
And if I can have that under
control, I can live with

798
00:45:08,480 --> 00:45:10,200
anything else, you know?
Absolutely.

799
00:45:10,280 --> 00:45:13,040
So I do great.
And I will supplement with

800
00:45:13,040 --> 00:45:17,080
Tylenol from time to time for my
joint pain or Aleve or whatever

801
00:45:17,240 --> 00:45:18,880
is figuring out what works for
you.

802
00:45:19,200 --> 00:45:20,640
Yeah, yeah.
And it's.

803
00:45:21,120 --> 00:45:23,560
You know, for me, I'm just
trying to like I had, I also

804
00:45:23,560 --> 00:45:28,000
take some seizure medication.
So it's like I did notice that

805
00:45:28,000 --> 00:45:33,320
sometimes if I took two doses of
kratom, I felt like there's a

806
00:45:33,320 --> 00:45:36,440
feeling when you you're getting
ready to have a seizure, like

807
00:45:36,440 --> 00:45:39,160
you could feel it coming.
I noticed it made me feel a

808
00:45:39,160 --> 00:45:43,160
little off, just me personally,
but that's because I have a

809
00:45:43,160 --> 00:45:46,040
seizure disorder.
It's my chronic seizure.

810
00:45:46,040 --> 00:45:48,120
So it almost looks like I have
Tourette's.

811
00:45:48,240 --> 00:45:52,040
It's really bizarre.
And it gets so bad at night.

812
00:45:52,040 --> 00:45:55,400
So if I don't take a seizure
medication at night, I can't

813
00:45:55,400 --> 00:45:57,320
sleep.
But I also can't sleep anyways

814
00:45:57,440 --> 00:46:00,000
now that you're in menopause.
So it's like I'm trying

815
00:46:00,000 --> 00:46:05,040
everything, you know, magnesium,
I'm doing everything, every

816
00:46:05,040 --> 00:46:07,760
supplement you could take, I'm
trying.

817
00:46:07,760 --> 00:46:09,880
And you know, I don't drink
alcohol.

818
00:46:10,000 --> 00:46:14,880
So like really I'm kind of
boring now.

819
00:46:14,880 --> 00:46:18,160
I just don't, I don't do much.
I mean, I take my cream tea,

820
00:46:18,160 --> 00:46:22,080
that's about it, you know, but
it, it makes me, it makes me

821
00:46:22,080 --> 00:46:23,760
happy.
I mean, I still, I've always had

822
00:46:23,760 --> 00:46:28,160
the depression since my first
child and they put me on an

823
00:46:28,160 --> 00:46:31,840
antidepressant and I've now down
to 5 milligrams of it.

824
00:46:31,840 --> 00:46:34,840
I've been on it for 20 years.
I cannot get off of it.

825
00:46:35,240 --> 00:46:40,520
I have tried, everybody's tried
to get me off of it slow, it

826
00:46:40,600 --> 00:46:43,560
doesn't matter.
I've tried it and it's not even

827
00:46:43,560 --> 00:46:46,480
helping my depression anymore.
So I'm like, let's just get off

828
00:46:46,480 --> 00:46:49,240
of it.
But when I try, I get severe

829
00:46:49,400 --> 00:46:54,080
Vertigo and nausea.
And I said, you know what, I'm

830
00:46:54,080 --> 00:46:56,400
just, I'm not dealing with it.
I'm just going to take the 5

831
00:46:56,400 --> 00:46:59,840
milligrams and then I take the
kratom and it helps with the

832
00:46:59,840 --> 00:47:03,120
depression.
So it's like, you know, I'm just

833
00:47:03,760 --> 00:47:06,160
and it unfortunately it doesn't
help with the, with the

834
00:47:06,160 --> 00:47:07,720
withdrawals from
antidepressants.

835
00:47:07,720 --> 00:47:11,480
Kratom does not there.
It didn't help with the Vertigo

836
00:47:11,640 --> 00:47:17,000
and the and the nausea.
It just help us pain, you know,

837
00:47:17,840 --> 00:47:21,120
But yeah, I mean, it's just,
it's just like I did take one of

838
00:47:21,120 --> 00:47:23,280
my seizure meds out about a few
months ago.

839
00:47:23,280 --> 00:47:26,560
So I've only had one now.
But it's just, you know, what

840
00:47:26,560 --> 00:47:29,080
works for everybody.
And you're, you're a different

841
00:47:29,080 --> 00:47:30,400
stage in your life.
You're like, OK, that's not

842
00:47:30,400 --> 00:47:32,280
working anymore.
Let's ship this around.

843
00:47:33,120 --> 00:47:35,880
And I mean, God bless the people
that don't have to do this.

844
00:47:36,840 --> 00:47:40,000
Yeah, I mean, they're lucky I
have.

845
00:47:40,000 --> 00:47:42,200
This pill container.
And I, you know, I've, I've had

846
00:47:42,200 --> 00:47:45,600
it since I was in my young 20s
and my, my college friends are

847
00:47:45,600 --> 00:47:48,560
like, Stacy, I have never seen
you without your pill container.

848
00:47:49,320 --> 00:47:51,320
And I used to take offense at
it.

849
00:47:51,320 --> 00:47:53,600
Now I'm like, I don't really
care.

850
00:47:54,040 --> 00:47:57,000
You know, it's just what it's
just what it takes to keep this

851
00:47:57,120 --> 00:48:01,440
going, right?
Exactly, exactly.

852
00:48:01,640 --> 00:48:04,280
Your story is so interesting and
I'm so glad we're doing this

853
00:48:04,280 --> 00:48:06,280
because I know there are people
listening right now.

854
00:48:06,280 --> 00:48:08,360
They're getting so much value
out of this.

855
00:48:08,520 --> 00:48:10,680
You're such a great storyteller.
I know I already said that, but

856
00:48:10,680 --> 00:48:11,720
I'm gonna say it again because
you are.

857
00:48:11,880 --> 00:48:14,640
You really paint the picture
really well for us.

858
00:48:15,080 --> 00:48:18,520
Before we wind down, is there
anything that we haven't covered

859
00:48:18,520 --> 00:48:20,560
yet you think people need to
hear about?

860
00:48:21,040 --> 00:48:23,440
I mean, you're a great advocate.
I love that you've been like

861
00:48:23,480 --> 00:48:25,960
educating people around you.
Is there anything else we

862
00:48:25,960 --> 00:48:28,600
haven't covered yet that we want
to make sure is out there?

863
00:48:29,120 --> 00:48:33,360
I just think.
Go, just do your research.

864
00:48:34,560 --> 00:48:36,960
Make sure it's an approved
vendor.

865
00:48:37,720 --> 00:48:41,920
Don't go to gas stations, don't
go to the head shops.

866
00:48:43,240 --> 00:48:46,880
Get start with the sample packs.
You know, for me, I measure it

867
00:48:46,880 --> 00:48:48,240
out.
Some people might just want to

868
00:48:48,240 --> 00:48:52,640
take a teaspoon.
Start slow, low, slow and low.

869
00:48:52,640 --> 00:48:54,160
Low and slow.
Yeah, that's possible.

870
00:48:54,160 --> 00:48:56,480
For to tell.
People, yeah.

871
00:48:56,800 --> 00:48:58,280
Go.
I think it's always good to.

872
00:48:59,440 --> 00:49:01,760
Take a stool softener.
Just pop it in there.

873
00:49:01,760 --> 00:49:05,840
It can't hurt you.
Yeah, it won't hurt.

874
00:49:06,080 --> 00:49:11,200
It won't hurt and you know.
What it it may combat something

875
00:49:11,200 --> 00:49:12,840
that might change your mind
about it.

876
00:49:12,840 --> 00:49:15,000
Maybe you're like, oh, I can't
deal with this and you'll stop

877
00:49:15,000 --> 00:49:17,600
it.
And and I think with anything

878
00:49:17,600 --> 00:49:21,160
you just need to be cautious.
You can't overdo it, right?

879
00:49:21,160 --> 00:49:24,040
You can't take it like 20 times
a day.

880
00:49:24,040 --> 00:49:27,200
You need to be cautious with
anything to take even a Tylenol.

881
00:49:28,520 --> 00:49:31,200
And I think I do a lot of I'm a
big researcher, so I'm

882
00:49:31,200 --> 00:49:34,440
constantly up on the laws.
And in Michigan, it's legal.

883
00:49:35,480 --> 00:49:38,080
I'm always terrified that
something's going to happen.

884
00:49:38,200 --> 00:49:40,680
And but then my husband's like,
just stop.

885
00:49:40,760 --> 00:49:42,880
Just just stop thinking like
that.

886
00:49:43,920 --> 00:49:45,760
I'm always just seeing what's
going on.

887
00:49:45,760 --> 00:49:49,040
And because my family, I have
family all over, I do travel

888
00:49:49,040 --> 00:49:52,400
sometimes from state to state
and I go over to Spain with it,

889
00:49:52,880 --> 00:49:55,040
which is always very nerve
wracking for me.

890
00:49:55,040 --> 00:50:00,640
So just keeping up on the laws
statewide and worldwide I have

891
00:50:00,640 --> 00:50:05,000
to do because I do travel.
So that's a little nerve

892
00:50:05,000 --> 00:50:07,400
wracking, but I've done it a
lot.

893
00:50:07,480 --> 00:50:13,480
I still get nervous, but just
being being careful with that

894
00:50:13,480 --> 00:50:16,920
and just know that I mean, it's
just a plan.

895
00:50:17,440 --> 00:50:20,440
It's just a, a plant in the
coffee family.

896
00:50:20,440 --> 00:50:23,520
It's not an opioid.
It's not something that's going

897
00:50:23,520 --> 00:50:26,560
to make you high.
It's something that if you have

898
00:50:26,560 --> 00:50:29,800
pain, especially it's, it's
really going to be beneficial.

899
00:50:31,360 --> 00:50:33,520
That's so well said that I love
that.

900
00:50:33,840 --> 00:50:36,640
What a great way to end this
amazing conversation, Stacey,

901
00:50:36,640 --> 00:50:39,440
because I mean, you wrapped it
up so well and you're giving

902
00:50:39,440 --> 00:50:43,160
great advice for anybody that
wants to learn more about kratom

903
00:50:43,160 --> 00:50:45,160
and get started.
And that's really you should

904
00:50:45,160 --> 00:50:46,240
write a book because you're
good.

905
00:50:46,280 --> 00:50:50,720
You really got a.
Lot going on OK I won't yeah,

906
00:50:50,720 --> 00:50:52,040
I'd only.
Give you something else to do,

907
00:50:52,040 --> 00:50:54,040
but but you would write you
would do it really well.

908
00:50:54,480 --> 00:50:56,280
Well with the book.
This has been great.

909
00:50:56,280 --> 00:50:57,920
Stacey.
Thank you for having me.

910
00:50:58,080 --> 00:50:59,040
We appreciate.
This.

911
00:50:59,080 --> 00:51:00,320
Yeah.
Thank you so much.

Stacy Wismer Profile Photo

Mom, Wife, Chronic Pain Patient for 27 years

I'm a 49 year old Chronic Pain Patient. I've been sufffering with pain since I was 22 years old. I have Tarlov Cyst Disease and Interstitial Cystitis. I've been with my husband Zach for 31 years, 25 years married (college sweethearts). I have a 19 year old daughter Sophia who goes to University of Michigan and 14 year old son Griffin that is a Freshman in High school. I've been on Antidepressants, Anticonvulsants, Toradol Shots. Tried accupucture, Nerve blocks, Homeopathic medicine, cryotherapy etc.. I've been offered many opioids for many years but chose not to take them. Nothing really worked for the pain. In 2022 I got in a bad car accident and it made my nerve pain so severe that I could barely get out of bed. Out of desperation my husband encouraged me to talk with his best friends wife who had been using Kratom tea for over 5 years for Endometriosis. . She basically was my guide on how and who to buy from. I started very slow 1 gram and tried different strains and vendors. I noticed that the Green Strain was the only one that touched the pain. I now take 3.5 grams 5 days a week usually once a day. I've been able to go back to work full-time after working part-time for over 11 years. I've been able to be the mom and wife I've always wanted to be because Kratom has given my life back.
