Kratom bans and restrictions are spreading, and in this episode we look at what’s happening in Massachusetts, North Dakota, and Utah and why we believe regulation and enforcement are better solutions than prohibition.

The conversation begins with the growing divide surrounding Kratom and 7OH, including the experiences of chronic pain consumers who say these products have given them options when traditional pain treatments were no longer working or available. We discuss why listening to different consumer experiences matters and why responsible use and misuse shouldn’t be treated as the same thing.

We then react to news coverage from Massachusetts, North Dakota, and Utah, where lawmakers and regulators are considering or implementing restrictions on Kratom and related products. We question why mislabeled, noncompliant, or irresponsible products aren’t being addressed through stronger enforcement and accountability rather than restricting access for everyone.

Later, the conversation turns to what consumers can do right now, from contacting local news outlets and lawmakers to sharing personal stories and educating friends, family, and communities. Advocacy doesn’t have to be complicated. Sometimes it starts with simply having a conversation.
