Ep 57: Beryl Higgins: From Cancer to Kratom, a Paramedic's Journey to Pain Relief
Following ovarian cancer, paramedic Beryl Higgins overcame chronic pain with the help of Kratom, experiencing improved energy levels and better sleep, significantly enhancing her quality of life. Her experience highlights the potential of alternative pain management approaches.
Beryl Higgins, a paramedic, knows firsthand the struggles of chronic pain. After a bout with ovarian cancer, she found herself trapped in a cycle of pain medications that left her feeling sluggish and depleted. Desperate for a better solution, Beryl discovered Kratom through online research and began her own journey of experimentation. Finding the right dosage and strain, specifically green Kratom, proved transformative. Smaller doses have provided her with an energy boost while larger ones allow for relaxation and better sleep, freeing her from the grip of constant pain. Beryl's story is a testament to the power of personalized plant-based medicine.
Beyond pain relief, Kratom has also given Beryl a new lease on life, allowing her to enjoy activities she once thought impossible. However, her journey has also involved challenging the stigma and misinformation associated with Kratom, even within the medical community. Beryl's experience underscores the critical need for accurate information and open-mindedness when exploring alternative treatments. Her story is an inspiring example of self-advocacy and the potential of Kratom to provide a pathway to a healthier, more fulfilling life.

7
00:01:57,280 --> 00:02:00,360
I'm here with Beryl Higgins, who
I've met on TikTok.
8
00:02:00,520 --> 00:02:04,480
I still can't get over how many
amazing kratom consumers and
9
00:02:04,480 --> 00:02:08,360
advocates I meet on TikTok.
I never thought that's where so
10
00:02:08,360 --> 00:02:11,480
many of us would congregate.
But Beryl, I'm so glad I met you
11
00:02:11,480 --> 00:02:13,760
there.
I really love your content.
12
00:02:14,040 --> 00:02:17,080
You come on to my TikTok and
comment and it's great that
13
00:02:17,080 --> 00:02:18,760
that's how we met.
Yeah, I know.
14
00:02:18,760 --> 00:02:21,840
I'm super excited.
I think TikTok and I mean
15
00:02:21,880 --> 00:02:24,160
hopefully it doesn't get banned
or anything because obviously
16
00:02:24,160 --> 00:02:28,160
there's that talk, but it's
finding your community, right
17
00:02:28,320 --> 00:02:31,320
and being in that kratom
community.
18
00:02:31,600 --> 00:02:34,960
I definitely.
I actually found it through
19
00:02:34,960 --> 00:02:36,960
Misty I.
Believe Misty Brown.
20
00:02:37,240 --> 00:02:41,840
Yes, and then that just spiraled
into then finding you into
21
00:02:41,840 --> 00:02:47,680
finding Jordan and I just I love
it because I felt so want to say
22
00:02:47,680 --> 00:02:52,520
like isolated in a way, like I
only knew about kratom and that
23
00:02:52,520 --> 00:02:54,680
was it.
But hearing other people use it
24
00:02:54,680 --> 00:02:57,800
for so many amazing benefits
that it is, it just makes me
25
00:02:57,800 --> 00:03:00,840
feel a lot more like heard.
Yeah, well, you don't feel so
26
00:03:00,840 --> 00:03:04,320
alone, you know, with with this
journey, being able to connect
27
00:03:04,320 --> 00:03:08,760
with all these other great
people on TikTok as people talk
28
00:03:08,760 --> 00:03:11,360
about kratom very regularly over
there.
29
00:03:11,360 --> 00:03:13,960
And I love that.
Yeah, no, I'm.
30
00:03:13,960 --> 00:03:18,120
I'm hearing other people's
stories and being able to hear
31
00:03:18,120 --> 00:03:20,720
other people with almost like
the same story that I do.
32
00:03:20,720 --> 00:03:24,120
Like when I see you reply to
comments about people who use it
33
00:03:24,120 --> 00:03:27,360
for pain and all that stuff, I'm
like yes, I'm not the only one
34
00:03:27,440 --> 00:03:28,560
so.
Right.
35
00:03:29,360 --> 00:03:31,880
That's why I love this podcast
because I, you know, we all have
36
00:03:31,880 --> 00:03:35,720
our own unique story.
And while we have a lot of
37
00:03:35,720 --> 00:03:38,640
things in common with others, we
also had, you know, nobody has
38
00:03:38,640 --> 00:03:42,360
our very own story.
And it's just so validating to
39
00:03:42,360 --> 00:03:46,000
be able to share it out to the
world, but then also help other
40
00:03:46,000 --> 00:03:47,640
people.
But I guarantee you there's
41
00:03:47,640 --> 00:03:51,480
somebody listening to this right
now who's getting help by
42
00:03:51,480 --> 00:03:54,120
hearing your story.
And that's so powerful.
43
00:03:54,440 --> 00:03:58,400
Yeah, I really hope that
somebody can take, but I'm
44
00:03:58,440 --> 00:04:03,040
saying and take my story and be
like, this was the reason why I
45
00:04:03,040 --> 00:04:09,240
started a journey so.
That it happens, you know, so a
46
00:04:09,280 --> 00:04:12,120
lot of people do get on TikTok
to research and learn more about
47
00:04:12,120 --> 00:04:15,840
this, especially those in the
pain community that come from
48
00:04:15,840 --> 00:04:18,720
pain management like I did,
where they're looking for
49
00:04:18,720 --> 00:04:20,640
alternatives.
A lot of people are looking for
50
00:04:20,640 --> 00:04:24,960
healthier alternatives,
especially with plant medicine
51
00:04:24,960 --> 00:04:27,960
and discovering kratom.
And so that's why I think our
52
00:04:27,960 --> 00:04:32,360
message is so powerful.
So I'm eager to hear your kratom
53
00:04:32,360 --> 00:04:33,920
journey.
Let's start with you telling us
54
00:04:33,920 --> 00:04:36,400
a little bit about yourself and
life before kratom.
55
00:04:36,680 --> 00:04:39,000
So.
Well, right now I'm 28 years old
56
00:04:39,280 --> 00:04:46,200
and about, I want to say six
years ago already, I had ovarian
57
00:04:46,200 --> 00:04:48,600
cancer.
I got diagnosed with stage 1
58
00:04:48,600 --> 00:04:52,920
ovarian cancer.
And that was obviously a journey
59
00:04:52,920 --> 00:04:57,720
in itself and whatnot.
And because of everything, I
60
00:04:57,720 --> 00:05:01,920
started going to a pain clinic
that literally just shoved me
61
00:05:02,360 --> 00:05:06,680
full of pills and whatnot.
And I'm a medic.
62
00:05:06,800 --> 00:05:11,080
I'm a paramedic as well, and
being in the healthcare world
63
00:05:11,400 --> 00:05:16,080
itself, I've kind of learned in
a way that you kind of just take
64
00:05:16,080 --> 00:05:19,000
what they gave you and you deal
with that, right?
65
00:05:19,320 --> 00:05:23,880
And I did not like that because
I did not like how the payments
66
00:05:23,880 --> 00:05:27,480
made me feel.
I got so lazy because of them.
67
00:05:27,960 --> 00:05:33,160
I did not feel like myself.
I thankfully did not get
68
00:05:33,160 --> 00:05:37,400
addicted to them, but for how
much I was taking, I knew that
69
00:05:37,400 --> 00:05:40,160
that would be an issue down the
road.
70
00:05:40,680 --> 00:05:46,440
And I was luckily able to get
into remission and I was still
71
00:05:46,440 --> 00:05:51,120
dealing with chronic pain.
And they were just like, OK,
72
00:05:51,120 --> 00:05:53,000
just continue going to this pain
clinic.
73
00:05:53,240 --> 00:05:56,760
We'll keep giving you these
scripts and you'll be fine.
74
00:05:57,080 --> 00:06:01,680
And I almost got worried once I
did start going back to work a
75
00:06:01,680 --> 00:06:05,960
little bit that I would be able
to function normally on pain
76
00:06:05,960 --> 00:06:08,560
medication.
You know, we get drug tested
77
00:06:08,560 --> 00:06:12,760
when we start work for a reason.
So why should it be OK for me to
78
00:06:12,800 --> 00:06:18,200
be on oxycodone or whenever just
because I have chronic pain?
79
00:06:18,200 --> 00:06:23,840
So I needed to find an alternate
and right now we became a huge
80
00:06:23,840 --> 00:06:28,320
thing, especially in my state.
I live in Arizona and I, you
81
00:06:28,320 --> 00:06:32,280
know, obviously I thought about
it, but I could not do that
82
00:06:32,280 --> 00:06:37,560
because of my medical license.
So if I tested positive for it,
83
00:06:37,600 --> 00:06:39,640
that could end very badly for
me.
84
00:06:39,960 --> 00:06:42,600
So there was not very many
options.
85
00:06:43,080 --> 00:06:49,840
And I went on Google and I just
looked up plant or just pay Med
86
00:06:49,840 --> 00:06:53,440
alternatives.
And I came across after days of
87
00:06:53,440 --> 00:06:57,120
searching a Reddit page that
talked about kratom.
88
00:06:57,680 --> 00:07:02,040
And I started reading it.
And then I'm like, OK, well,
89
00:07:02,040 --> 00:07:05,320
maybe like, I don't know.
And then I just started kind of
90
00:07:05,320 --> 00:07:08,040
slowly researching more and more
into that.
91
00:07:08,320 --> 00:07:13,040
And there was finally one day I
was at my breaking point.
92
00:07:13,080 --> 00:07:17,160
I was in a lot of pain.
My payments were not doing what
93
00:07:17,160 --> 00:07:19,760
I wanted them to do anymore
because my tolerance had gotten
94
00:07:19,760 --> 00:07:23,160
up so much.
And finally went to that smoke
95
00:07:23,160 --> 00:07:28,120
shop that was close to me that
sold kratom and I tried it and I
96
00:07:28,120 --> 00:07:31,560
actually got sick off of it.
Like the first time was actually
97
00:07:31,560 --> 00:07:33,960
the first couple times I tried
it, I got sick off of it because
98
00:07:33,960 --> 00:07:36,600
I didn't know about the dosage
or anything like that.
99
00:07:36,960 --> 00:07:38,600
And I kind of gave up for a
little bit.
100
00:07:38,600 --> 00:07:41,960
And then I tried it again and I
messed with the dosage.
101
00:07:42,280 --> 00:07:46,880
And then I remember I was
sitting there and I was waiting
102
00:07:46,880 --> 00:07:50,720
to get that feeling that almost
like pain meds give you because
103
00:07:50,720 --> 00:07:53,920
it says that it messes, it deals
with your opioid receptors.
104
00:07:54,480 --> 00:07:58,480
I didn't get that feeling, but
then the more I just kind of
105
00:07:58,480 --> 00:08:02,480
waited, I realized my pain was
gone and it was just in that it
106
00:08:02,480 --> 00:08:04,880
was almost like a light bulb
moment.
107
00:08:04,880 --> 00:08:08,440
Like, Oh my gosh, what I
actually read online was true
108
00:08:08,760 --> 00:08:11,160
and this is something that I can
actually take.
109
00:08:11,480 --> 00:08:13,760
And then I just started taking
it and I love it.
110
00:08:14,160 --> 00:08:16,280
How long ago was that?
When did you start?
111
00:08:16,640 --> 00:08:19,840
I started five years ago.
OK, me too.
112
00:08:19,920 --> 00:08:21,880
Me too.
There's A and Misty Brown.
113
00:08:21,880 --> 00:08:25,320
There's a lot of us that we call
ourselves A5 year crew because
114
00:08:25,320 --> 00:08:29,680
we all started five years ago.
So that is so cool.
115
00:08:29,920 --> 00:08:33,840
When you said you first tried it
and you got sick and you know
116
00:08:33,840 --> 00:08:36,120
you had to figure out the dose,
you were just taking too much
117
00:08:36,159 --> 00:08:37,880
from the start.
I think so.
118
00:08:38,000 --> 00:08:43,080
I remember I got home, I opened
the bag and I, I took a
119
00:08:43,080 --> 00:08:46,520
spoonful, just a spoonful, and
then threw it back.
120
00:08:46,840 --> 00:08:50,280
And I yeah, I threw up within
like 30 minutes.
121
00:08:51,440 --> 00:08:54,360
Because usually when we usually
with like supplements, like
122
00:08:54,360 --> 00:08:58,000
powder supplements, usually it's
like a big scoop, right?
123
00:08:58,000 --> 00:09:02,000
Because that's how you, right?
And so I can totally see that.
124
00:09:02,120 --> 00:09:04,960
Whereas with capsules, I think
so many times when people are
125
00:09:04,960 --> 00:09:08,040
new and they just go to smoke
shop, they buy capsules and they
126
00:09:08,040 --> 00:09:10,920
say, well, Kratom doesn't do
anything for me because we're so
127
00:09:10,920 --> 00:09:14,520
conditioned from the healthcare
industry that you don't ever
128
00:09:14,520 --> 00:09:16,560
need more than one or two
capsules of something.
129
00:09:16,560 --> 00:09:19,840
But that's pharmaceuticals.
This is a plant, right?
130
00:09:19,960 --> 00:09:23,680
So that's so interesting.
Like because I can totally see,
131
00:09:24,000 --> 00:09:27,120
you know, I've been doing
smoothies forever and like
132
00:09:27,120 --> 00:09:29,160
putting all kinds of powder
supplements and you're just used
133
00:09:29,160 --> 00:09:30,560
to like a big scoop of it,
right?
134
00:09:30,560 --> 00:09:33,240
That's just normal.
I can totally see where that
135
00:09:33,240 --> 00:09:36,000
would happen to you.
How did you first hear about
136
00:09:36,000 --> 00:09:37,880
Kratom?
How did how did you find out
137
00:09:38,200 --> 00:09:39,880
about it?
Just from from Reddit?
138
00:09:40,240 --> 00:09:44,040
And just from Reddit, like I was
just doing Google searches
139
00:09:44,040 --> 00:09:48,440
because I knew that there had to
be something out there that was
140
00:09:48,440 --> 00:09:52,960
different than just let me just
take payments now because that
141
00:09:53,320 --> 00:09:55,240
was going to be my whole bike,
literally.
142
00:09:55,680 --> 00:09:59,440
And so again, it took a couple
of days to start, you know, I'm
143
00:09:59,440 --> 00:10:02,960
going feeds into that Google
search and it was just for my
144
00:10:03,040 --> 00:10:04,680
page.
Talk about beta.
145
00:10:05,160 --> 00:10:07,240
People use it for different
things.
146
00:10:07,640 --> 00:10:11,800
And then I just search crazy and
then I saw MTR news article
147
00:10:11,800 --> 00:10:15,800
about it and then I saw another
article about it talking about
148
00:10:15,800 --> 00:10:20,280
how it helped plus pain person
or personally had chronic pain.
149
00:10:20,680 --> 00:10:25,080
And then I saw it be used for
other things like withdraws from
150
00:10:25,240 --> 00:10:28,640
hard drugs.
And so I knew that it was
151
00:10:28,640 --> 00:10:31,280
something very powerful.
But it's like it's also to that
152
00:10:31,280 --> 00:10:33,680
point where you chip always
believe what you're rude on
153
00:10:33,680 --> 00:10:37,480
Internet.
And so I'm kind of skeptical at
154
00:10:37,480 --> 00:10:40,240
first.
It took me, I'm missing 3 weeks
155
00:10:40,400 --> 00:10:44,800
before I finally decide, OK, you
know what worst comes to worst?
156
00:10:44,800 --> 00:10:48,680
I waste $40 and it doesn't do
anything for me.
157
00:10:49,000 --> 00:10:50,600
So I was the same way in the
beginning.
158
00:10:50,600 --> 00:10:54,640
You know, I like, I, I bought
somebody said buy all three of
159
00:10:54,640 --> 00:10:57,840
the colors, a red, a white and a
green because you need to
160
00:10:57,840 --> 00:11:00,200
experiment and see what works
for you.
161
00:11:00,520 --> 00:11:02,840
So and I was thinking, well,
I'll just buy these.
162
00:11:02,840 --> 00:11:05,320
If it works, great.
If not, you know no worries.
163
00:11:05,720 --> 00:11:08,600
But same with me.
It took me several weeks to
164
00:11:08,600 --> 00:11:12,320
figure out that greens are the
only ones that work on me.
165
00:11:12,680 --> 00:11:16,440
I don't know why the Reds and
whites Whites make me way too
166
00:11:16,440 --> 00:11:19,040
jittery.
I still can remember the way I
167
00:11:19,040 --> 00:11:23,040
felt the first time I tried just
white and I felt like my
168
00:11:23,040 --> 00:11:27,440
eyeballs were just going like I
just, it was weird.
169
00:11:27,760 --> 00:11:30,480
It's like I had 10 cups of
coffee or something.
170
00:11:30,480 --> 00:11:32,880
It was just this too jittery
feeling.
171
00:11:33,040 --> 00:11:36,080
It helped my pain though, but
not enough where I felt
172
00:11:36,080 --> 00:11:38,960
comfortable, you know?
Because of this, the effects I
173
00:11:38,960 --> 00:11:41,080
was getting were not very
positive.
174
00:11:41,320 --> 00:11:44,080
The Reds did nothing for me.
People are like Reds are great
175
00:11:44,080 --> 00:11:46,600
for pain, it's great for
relaxing, it's great for sleep.
176
00:11:46,800 --> 00:11:49,400
They don't relax me.
It doesn't help me sleep and it
177
00:11:49,400 --> 00:11:51,440
didn't help my pain.
And I thought well this is
178
00:11:51,440 --> 00:11:53,320
weird.
So I almost gave up because I
179
00:11:53,320 --> 00:11:55,120
didn't even try the green till
last.
180
00:11:55,640 --> 00:11:57,600
OK.
And I'm like finally trying the
181
00:11:57,600 --> 00:12:00,080
green.
I'm like, Oh my gosh, this one
182
00:12:00,080 --> 00:12:02,880
works.
Did you like have to experiment
183
00:12:02,880 --> 00:12:05,560
with the different colors to
figure that out for yourself as
184
00:12:05,560 --> 00:12:08,560
well?
So I did a little bit, I
185
00:12:08,560 --> 00:12:13,360
actually got forgot what website
it was, but it was chart that
186
00:12:13,360 --> 00:12:16,280
had all the colors and then all
the different strays.
187
00:12:16,280 --> 00:12:21,200
So manga, Bali, Kapula, all the
different names, right?
188
00:12:21,200 --> 00:12:25,200
And then next to it, it showed
the benefits of all of those and
189
00:12:25,560 --> 00:12:27,840
desk when I learned Reds are
great shirt, you know, red in
190
00:12:27,840 --> 00:12:30,360
the bed, green for energy and
stuff like that.
191
00:12:30,720 --> 00:12:34,920
At first I did take a red
because I was so in my mind, I
192
00:12:34,920 --> 00:12:37,000
was so tired, I just wanted to
sleep.
193
00:12:37,120 --> 00:12:39,360
If it took my pain away, then I
can sleep.
194
00:12:39,760 --> 00:12:44,880
And I realized that yes, it took
my pain away, but I would just,
195
00:12:45,120 --> 00:12:50,600
I would almost be as lazy as I
was on the pain medication.
196
00:12:50,920 --> 00:12:56,360
So then I tried to green and the
green, which I think is so funny
197
00:12:56,360 --> 00:12:59,760
because that's the only thing I
take now, is only green because
198
00:12:59,760 --> 00:13:02,760
what I can do for a green is I
can actually take a little bit
199
00:13:02,760 --> 00:13:04,840
in the morning.
I don't take a full dose or
200
00:13:04,840 --> 00:13:07,960
anything, but I could take a
little bit in the morning and I
201
00:13:07,960 --> 00:13:11,160
get my energy.
And then at night I can take a
202
00:13:11,160 --> 00:13:14,360
little bit more, almost like a
full dosage or take a full
203
00:13:14,360 --> 00:13:17,480
dosage and then I can relax and
I sleep amazing.
204
00:13:17,760 --> 00:13:21,720
And so it's like, I just think
it's just so cool, you know,
205
00:13:21,720 --> 00:13:24,960
like I'm take a little bit, I
can get the energy that I need
206
00:13:24,960 --> 00:13:28,160
that the green does provide and
then I can take a little bit
207
00:13:28,160 --> 00:13:31,360
more and I can relax.
I have tried a white and I did
208
00:13:31,360 --> 00:13:34,640
kind of get that feeling.
I almost also kind of felt like
209
00:13:34,960 --> 00:13:38,840
I didn't know how to explain it,
almost like really jittery or
210
00:13:38,840 --> 00:13:41,320
like almost over anxious in a
way.
211
00:13:41,640 --> 00:13:45,960
Yes, that's what I felt too,
because I even what what I even
212
00:13:45,960 --> 00:13:50,680
did like since I'm five years in
as well, I went years of not
213
00:13:50,680 --> 00:13:53,720
ever doing white kratom ever
again, and I've done multiple
214
00:13:53,720 --> 00:13:56,600
vendors.
But then I had ordered, you
215
00:13:56,600 --> 00:13:59,160
know, some of my greens from
Jordan at New Hope botanicals
216
00:13:59,160 --> 00:14:01,840
and love them so much.
And I know you mentioned Jordan
217
00:14:01,840 --> 00:14:04,480
from TikTok and they always
throw in a sample, right?
218
00:14:04,480 --> 00:14:06,600
They always throw in a sample,
which is awesome.
219
00:14:06,960 --> 00:14:09,160
And so they had thrown in a
sample of a white.
220
00:14:09,280 --> 00:14:11,920
So all these years have gone by
and I'm thinking to myself,
221
00:14:12,120 --> 00:14:14,600
well, maybe I can add a little
bit of it.
222
00:14:14,600 --> 00:14:17,840
I won't do full, but I'll do
like my green and like maybe do
223
00:14:17,840 --> 00:14:21,480
a little less green and just add
the, you know, like maybe 1/4
224
00:14:21,760 --> 00:14:24,800
teaspoon or half a teaspoon of
the white instead, you know, to
225
00:14:24,800 --> 00:14:27,320
still be my usual dose, but
we'll put a little bit of white
226
00:14:27,320 --> 00:14:29,040
in there.
I thought, well, you know, maybe
227
00:14:29,040 --> 00:14:31,080
his white strain cream is
different.
228
00:14:31,320 --> 00:14:33,800
So I did that just about a year
ago, I think.
229
00:14:34,000 --> 00:14:37,080
So I did that.
I swear to God, for four hours.
230
00:14:37,080 --> 00:14:40,360
My right hand was just had had
just barely the shakes just a
231
00:14:40,360 --> 00:14:43,840
little like noticeable.
And I'm like, why is it that I
232
00:14:43,840 --> 00:14:47,080
react this way to the white?
And it wasn't even a full like
233
00:14:47,080 --> 00:14:50,000
it was just partial.
I, I made it into a blend and I
234
00:14:50,000 --> 00:14:53,760
just, I'm like, OK, obviously
whites are not for me ever,
235
00:14:53,760 --> 00:14:56,360
ever, ever.
And I even got to the point when
236
00:14:56,360 --> 00:14:59,240
I next time I ordered from
Jordan, I put there's like a
237
00:14:59,240 --> 00:15:02,480
little comment section in your
order form and I put whatever
238
00:15:02,480 --> 00:15:04,640
sample you send, please make it
a green.
239
00:15:05,280 --> 00:15:08,640
I'm like, let me be proactive
here because I just don't ever
240
00:15:08,640 --> 00:15:11,600
want to try white strain ever
again.
241
00:15:11,760 --> 00:15:14,600
But a lot of people say they do
really well with the white
242
00:15:14,600 --> 00:15:16,600
strain.
So it's so individualized, but
243
00:15:16,600 --> 00:15:18,920
you don't know until you try it.
Exactly.
244
00:15:18,920 --> 00:15:23,520
Yeah, I think, you know, even
with not even just the colors,
245
00:15:23,520 --> 00:15:29,160
but there's different strains to
like I only like the I stick
246
00:15:29,160 --> 00:15:31,480
with bodies and maintenance
because I heard maintenance or
247
00:15:31,480 --> 00:15:35,360
Gracful pain that first started
and those are the only two
248
00:15:35,360 --> 00:15:39,120
strains that I will do because
any other strain that I have
249
00:15:39,120 --> 00:15:44,040
tried either doesn't feel like
take my pain away or I just feel
250
00:15:44,320 --> 00:15:46,760
off on them.
I don't know how to like that
251
00:15:46,760 --> 00:15:50,800
makes sense.
And so during my experimental
252
00:15:50,800 --> 00:15:54,120
phase, you know, I did try
everything that I possibly
253
00:15:54,120 --> 00:15:57,080
could.
The smoke shop that I did go to,
254
00:15:57,080 --> 00:16:01,160
they have their own in house
kratom that came from a
255
00:16:01,200 --> 00:16:05,320
reputable vendor.
And I ended up becoming really
256
00:16:05,320 --> 00:16:07,240
good friends with the owner of
the smoke shop.
257
00:16:07,480 --> 00:16:11,480
And he would give me free
samples, different ones, because
258
00:16:11,480 --> 00:16:14,280
he knew why I was starting to
take it and all that stuff.
259
00:16:14,680 --> 00:16:17,960
And that allowed me to kind of
try a little things, you know, a
260
00:16:18,000 --> 00:16:21,160
little 5g bags.
I can see how it works for me.
261
00:16:21,160 --> 00:16:22,920
If I like it, great, if I don't,
you know.
262
00:16:23,320 --> 00:16:26,280
So no, it was, it was
interesting for the experimental
263
00:16:26,280 --> 00:16:30,440
time even trying capsules, you
know, I tried capsules for a
264
00:16:30,440 --> 00:16:34,360
little while.
I did not get the same effect as
265
00:16:34,360 --> 00:16:36,840
the powder.
You know, I do a toss and wash.
266
00:16:36,840 --> 00:16:39,440
I don't know.
But like, I don't know if there
267
00:16:39,440 --> 00:16:42,600
is a difference.
I don't know, I'm going to be
268
00:16:42,600 --> 00:16:45,320
completely honest with you.
I don't know exactly how much I
269
00:16:45,320 --> 00:16:47,880
take.
I just know I'd do like little
270
00:16:47,880 --> 00:16:52,040
like a kids soon, a little bit
of that and do that two times
271
00:16:52,560 --> 00:16:54,440
and that's it.
So maybe, you know, with the
272
00:16:54,440 --> 00:16:57,600
capsule I just take as much or
whatever.
273
00:16:57,960 --> 00:17:02,000
But no, I experimented until I
found everything that lined up
274
00:17:02,000 --> 00:17:05,359
for me and I'm happy now.
And that's the way to do it.
275
00:17:05,520 --> 00:17:07,800
Well, I think, you know, with
you being somebody consuming for
276
00:17:07,800 --> 00:17:10,720
five years that you can easily
eyeball it and know what's that
277
00:17:10,720 --> 00:17:12,920
right amount, You know, when you
take it every day.
278
00:17:13,160 --> 00:17:16,079
I use a little teaspoon thing
and I do 2 teaspoons every six
279
00:17:16,079 --> 00:17:17,520
hours.
That's what works for me.
280
00:17:17,760 --> 00:17:21,000
But I think I'm at a point where
I could eyeball it, you know, if
281
00:17:21,000 --> 00:17:24,079
needed and, and know like how
much is the right amount?
282
00:17:24,319 --> 00:17:27,480
What's interesting with capsules
because I have talked to a lot
283
00:17:27,480 --> 00:17:30,400
of people about this to kind of
compare notes, because I did
284
00:17:30,400 --> 00:17:33,120
start with capsules because
everybody said in the beginning,
285
00:17:33,120 --> 00:17:34,880
oh, it tastes so bad, it's
gross.
286
00:17:35,160 --> 00:17:38,320
And I'm thinking, oh, I don't
want to like have some nasty
287
00:17:38,320 --> 00:17:39,960
tea.
I'd rather like take capsules if
288
00:17:39,960 --> 00:17:42,240
I could.
So I started with capsules and
289
00:17:42,240 --> 00:17:45,080
very quickly it's like, OK, this
didn't do anything.
290
00:17:45,080 --> 00:17:48,200
And a lot of people were saying
powder is better to go in the
291
00:17:48,200 --> 00:17:51,520
powder route, whether you toss
and wash or mix it up like swamp
292
00:17:51,520 --> 00:17:54,080
water like I do.
But something like that is
293
00:17:54,080 --> 00:17:56,160
better than the capsules.
And what I pretty much
294
00:17:56,160 --> 00:17:59,400
determined was for me, and a lot
of people say the same thing
295
00:17:59,400 --> 00:18:02,120
with the capsules, you're
ingesting all those capsule
296
00:18:02,120 --> 00:18:05,640
shells and they don't always
open up and dissolve, you know?
297
00:18:05,720 --> 00:18:08,680
And So what I always felt like
when I took capsules is it
298
00:18:08,680 --> 00:18:10,920
always felt like my stomach felt
heavy.
299
00:18:10,920 --> 00:18:14,320
I would feel nauseous and
bloated because again, it's a
300
00:18:14,320 --> 00:18:16,160
plant.
So you're having to consume
301
00:18:16,160 --> 00:18:20,240
quite a few capsules to equal
your powder dosage.
302
00:18:20,240 --> 00:18:22,600
So if I'm sitting here
consuming, you know, 2
303
00:18:22,600 --> 00:18:26,200
teaspoons, which is roughly 5
grams, well that could easily be
304
00:18:26,200 --> 00:18:28,960
10 capsules.
And like, who wants to have 10
305
00:18:28,960 --> 00:18:32,680
capsule shells sitting in your
stomach, number one.
306
00:18:32,680 --> 00:18:34,960
But then are they all opening up
fully?
307
00:18:35,120 --> 00:18:38,400
Whereas if you just consume
powder with a toss and wash or
308
00:18:38,400 --> 00:18:42,920
swamp water tea, that you're
ingesting it all immediately.
309
00:18:43,400 --> 00:18:46,640
Right, exactly.
So I I got way better results
310
00:18:46,640 --> 00:18:48,920
and I know some people say poke
holes in your capsules.
311
00:18:49,280 --> 00:18:52,760
I tried that.
I did everything and it was just
312
00:18:52,880 --> 00:18:55,680
to no avail.
So I had to just suck it up
313
00:18:56,040 --> 00:18:58,640
because it tastes bad.
Some people like the you know,
314
00:18:58,640 --> 00:19:00,600
Jordan's mom from New Hope loves
the taste.
315
00:19:00,600 --> 00:19:03,800
She has a TikTok.
He made a TikTok video of her
316
00:19:04,120 --> 00:19:08,160
tossing washing with no water.
No, like she likes the taste of
317
00:19:08,160 --> 00:19:09,480
it.
It is hilarious.
318
00:19:10,400 --> 00:19:12,640
It is.
I'll have to go get the link to
319
00:19:12,640 --> 00:19:16,320
that video and put in the show
notes because it is Rarely will
320
00:19:16,320 --> 00:19:21,320
you see anybody liking the taste
of that bitter powder.
321
00:19:21,640 --> 00:19:27,800
Yeah, I mean, when I first
started I definitely was looking
322
00:19:27,800 --> 00:19:30,760
up all these drinks that
definitely like hid the taste.
323
00:19:30,760 --> 00:19:35,760
So I chocolate milk was one,
orange juice, lemonade, stuff
324
00:19:35,760 --> 00:19:38,800
like that.
And now I can do it with just
325
00:19:38,800 --> 00:19:42,520
some cold water and I'm fine and
I don't really taste it but I
326
00:19:42,520 --> 00:19:44,640
cannot imagine just taking a
spoonful.
327
00:19:45,080 --> 00:19:48,480
Oh God.
No, I mean, when I started, I
328
00:19:48,480 --> 00:19:50,160
did orange juice, I did
chocolate milk.
329
00:19:50,160 --> 00:19:52,880
I tried all the things people
said chocolate milk is good for
330
00:19:52,880 --> 00:19:57,240
masking the taste and it did.
But I, for me, what I found back
331
00:19:57,240 --> 00:20:00,840
in the beginning is that kratom
worked better if I mixed it with
332
00:20:00,880 --> 00:20:03,640
orange juice rather than the
chocolate milk, if I did it with
333
00:20:03,640 --> 00:20:05,560
orange juice.
And I imagine it's because of
334
00:20:05,560 --> 00:20:08,240
the alkaloids.
People say adding citrus like
335
00:20:08,240 --> 00:20:11,640
lemons or, or orange juice can
activate the alkaloids to make
336
00:20:11,640 --> 00:20:14,520
them work better.
And I clearly in the because I
337
00:20:14,520 --> 00:20:16,920
kept a journal and that's what's
really helpful when you're new.
338
00:20:17,200 --> 00:20:18,560
So that way you can kind of
track.
339
00:20:18,880 --> 00:20:21,320
What all you're doing and
instead of trying to do it all
340
00:20:21,320 --> 00:20:24,960
from memory, and what I notice
is that if I did it, while the
341
00:20:25,240 --> 00:20:28,240
chocolate milk tasted better, it
didn't last as long.
342
00:20:28,440 --> 00:20:31,760
My pain relief didn't last as
long and it wasn't as effective
343
00:20:31,760 --> 00:20:34,480
overall.
But if I did orange juice, I got
344
00:20:34,480 --> 00:20:36,360
amazing pain relief and it
lasted longer.
345
00:20:36,520 --> 00:20:38,560
So I had to just suck it up and
like, you know what?
346
00:20:38,560 --> 00:20:41,480
For me personally, it's worth
the bad taste for the pain
347
00:20:41,480 --> 00:20:44,840
relief I get and I don't have to
have opioids anymore and I don't
348
00:20:44,840 --> 00:20:46,680
have to have gabapentin and
muscle relaxers.
349
00:20:46,800 --> 00:20:50,640
Like I was able to cut all of
that out, which is amazing.
350
00:20:50,920 --> 00:20:55,160
That yes, gabapentin, Oh my
gosh, that is my worst enemy
351
00:20:55,200 --> 00:20:57,880
right there.
That's so funny though, because
352
00:20:57,880 --> 00:21:02,080
though I run it online
somewhere, but like eating mango
353
00:21:02,080 --> 00:21:05,080
or adding mango juice or like
you said, citrus.
354
00:21:05,120 --> 00:21:07,920
And I've actually found that
before because I love mango.
355
00:21:08,320 --> 00:21:11,520
Yeah.
And I would take some and then I
356
00:21:11,720 --> 00:21:16,000
ate a mango and I did notice
really it was stronger and it
357
00:21:16,000 --> 00:21:22,640
lasted I longer.
Like I dose every four or six
358
00:21:22,640 --> 00:21:24,560
hours.
I dose depending on how bad my
359
00:21:24,560 --> 00:21:26,480
pain is and what I'm doing and
stuff.
360
00:21:27,280 --> 00:21:31,160
I it's ever reported six hours
and I noticed that I'm actually
361
00:21:31,160 --> 00:21:36,880
able to go Meyer like past the
six hours after I ate my mango.
362
00:21:37,440 --> 00:21:40,400
Really.
Yeah, and so now I I try to get
363
00:21:40,400 --> 00:21:44,040
mangoes my just so.
Cool, but it's so cool I forget.
364
00:21:44,040 --> 00:21:46,920
About it.
But you know what they call that
365
00:21:46,920 --> 00:21:49,480
is a potentiator.
And I did a lot of research at
366
00:21:49,480 --> 00:21:52,080
the beginning because people I
remember the first time I was in
367
00:21:52,080 --> 00:21:54,440
this Facebook group and they
were, and that's when I was
368
00:21:54,440 --> 00:21:56,760
researching kratom and they were
talking about potentiators.
369
00:21:56,800 --> 00:21:58,320
I had to go Google it.
I'm like, what are they talking
370
00:21:58,320 --> 00:22:00,160
about?
And it just means that it makes
371
00:22:00,280 --> 00:22:02,720
it stronger.
So I'm like, oh, that makes
372
00:22:02,720 --> 00:22:04,920
sense.
And they were people talk about
373
00:22:04,920 --> 00:22:07,640
different potentiators.
Some would say lemon, some would
374
00:22:07,640 --> 00:22:10,360
say orange juice.
There was a variety of things.
375
00:22:10,360 --> 00:22:12,080
Pickle juice.
That was that was the one too,
376
00:22:12,080 --> 00:22:13,880
pickle juice.
And so.
377
00:22:14,240 --> 00:22:17,360
So I did all this research on
these potentiators, trying to
378
00:22:17,360 --> 00:22:20,400
understand more about it because
so many people were talking
379
00:22:20,400 --> 00:22:24,920
about things like, oh, if I add
orange juice or lemons or pickle
380
00:22:24,920 --> 00:22:28,600
juice and turmeric, like there's
so many things that people
381
00:22:28,600 --> 00:22:30,680
talked about.
That made the kratom.
382
00:22:30,680 --> 00:22:35,120
Stronger so it worked better and
so I for a while when I was new
383
00:22:35,120 --> 00:22:37,480
to kratom, I was experimenting
because I was like, this is
384
00:22:37,480 --> 00:22:40,360
fascinating to me.
I already knew that orange juice
385
00:22:40,360 --> 00:22:43,640
worked really well for me, but I
tried the lemon thing and lemons
386
00:22:43,640 --> 00:22:45,760
did not make it any better for
me at all.
387
00:22:45,960 --> 00:22:47,560
I tried the pickle juice.
So that did.
388
00:22:47,560 --> 00:22:50,920
I mean, I try.
People even say geez is so
389
00:22:50,920 --> 00:22:53,200
interesting.
Have you heard of any of these
390
00:22:53,200 --> 00:22:57,640
before?
No, the only thing I heard was
391
00:22:58,080 --> 00:23:00,200
citrus.
So like things like almond,
392
00:23:00,200 --> 00:23:03,520
orange, stuff like that and
mango, that was the only thing.
393
00:23:03,920 --> 00:23:06,560
I have not heard of Mango, so
that I'm intrigued.
394
00:23:06,560 --> 00:23:08,760
Now I'm going to have to look
into that one because that's
395
00:23:08,760 --> 00:23:10,480
the.
First I've heard of that, It was
396
00:23:10,560 --> 00:23:16,280
also drinking it hot, like
assuming like a tea also works
397
00:23:16,280 --> 00:23:20,040
better or something so I mean I.
Haven't noticed the difference.
398
00:23:21,360 --> 00:23:23,680
I've.
Done it warm and I've done it
399
00:23:23,680 --> 00:23:25,720
cold.
And from I think it's very
400
00:23:25,720 --> 00:23:27,920
individualized.
We know with this plant it
401
00:23:27,920 --> 00:23:32,040
affects everybody differently.
So it's very possible that could
402
00:23:32,040 --> 00:23:34,840
help somebody more.
But I've tried it.
403
00:23:34,920 --> 00:23:36,480
I mean, I do the small border
method.
404
00:23:36,480 --> 00:23:38,360
That's just I don't want to do
toss and wash.
405
00:23:38,360 --> 00:23:40,960
I don't think I'd be very good.
I'm worried I'd choke on it.
406
00:23:41,920 --> 00:23:46,160
But I've done it cold, I've done
it warm, I've done it all.
407
00:23:46,160 --> 00:23:49,920
I've done the lemon juice is
sitting for long, for hours.
408
00:23:49,920 --> 00:23:51,600
You know, I've done it all these
different ways.
409
00:23:51,880 --> 00:23:55,840
What works for me is I usually
just whip it up about an hour
410
00:23:55,840 --> 00:23:58,760
ahead of time so it can just
naturally cool off a little bit.
411
00:23:58,960 --> 00:24:02,120
I add more my orange juice,
sometimes I add pineapple juice
412
00:24:02,440 --> 00:24:05,400
and I'm good to go.
When it lasts my six hours, it's
413
00:24:05,440 --> 00:24:09,120
great and it's finding what
works for you.
414
00:24:09,120 --> 00:24:11,920
But you got me definitely
interested in researching
415
00:24:11,920 --> 00:24:14,920
mangoes now.
Yeah, no, I I think that works
416
00:24:14,960 --> 00:24:16,280
great.
I just keep forgotting to get
417
00:24:16,280 --> 00:24:20,080
mangoes off the grocery store or
they're not in season so only a
418
00:24:20,080 --> 00:24:22,880
limited time.
Right, well, let's talk about
419
00:24:22,880 --> 00:24:26,000
like your experience with Kratom
since starting.
420
00:24:26,000 --> 00:24:28,640
So it's been helping your pain
just has it been helping your
421
00:24:28,640 --> 00:24:33,240
pain more than the pain meds did
or like the same or how how's
422
00:24:33,240 --> 00:24:34,680
that been working out?
Yeah.
423
00:24:34,800 --> 00:24:38,720
So I definitely think it has
helped me the same.
424
00:24:38,800 --> 00:24:42,400
But the one thing that I had
noticed, and I think anyone
425
00:24:42,400 --> 00:24:46,440
who's been on payments can
relate to this is where you
426
00:24:46,440 --> 00:24:49,560
only, you know, you're supposed
to take one payment every four
427
00:24:49,560 --> 00:24:51,840
to six hours or you know,
depending on how bad your pain
428
00:24:51,840 --> 00:24:56,200
is and whatnot.
And I would take one and I would
429
00:24:56,200 --> 00:24:58,480
didn't be in pain again within
two hours.
430
00:24:58,760 --> 00:25:02,400
So then I'm waiting for the
other two hours or the other 4
431
00:25:02,400 --> 00:25:06,120
hours so I could take one again.
So I'm not double dosing or
432
00:25:06,120 --> 00:25:09,640
anything like that.
But with Kratom, I'm not in pain
433
00:25:09,880 --> 00:25:14,880
for a very, you know, a long
pain of time for six hours or so
434
00:25:15,400 --> 00:25:19,200
when I start feeling just a
little bit of pain, like start
435
00:25:19,360 --> 00:25:22,960
coming back, just a little bit
of discomfort, I go ahead and I
436
00:25:22,960 --> 00:25:25,480
take some Kratom and that's
usually around the floor to six
437
00:25:25,480 --> 00:25:29,080
mark, depending on, you know, my
lady days and stuff like that.
438
00:25:29,480 --> 00:25:32,440
Even the weather has apparently
has something to do with my
439
00:25:32,440 --> 00:25:34,480
pain.
I don't know, but just depending
440
00:25:34,480 --> 00:25:37,560
on how bad that day is, it's
every four to six hours.
441
00:25:37,560 --> 00:25:40,840
But the one thing that I
noticed, and like I mentioned
442
00:25:40,840 --> 00:25:46,360
before, I can take a little bit
and I can, for example, clean
443
00:25:46,360 --> 00:25:50,480
the house and I'm completely
silent for all of those hours
444
00:25:50,480 --> 00:25:53,920
and I have the energy and then
you know, I take a little bit
445
00:25:53,920 --> 00:25:56,840
more when I'm done and like I'm
happy.
446
00:25:57,040 --> 00:25:59,160
I don't have any issues
whatsoever.
447
00:25:59,440 --> 00:26:04,600
I also noticed when I was
working that I can take some the
448
00:26:04,600 --> 00:26:08,840
start of my shift and if I had
to I would take some in the
449
00:26:08,840 --> 00:26:12,960
middle of my shift.
But me being at work, you know
450
00:26:12,960 --> 00:26:15,520
my mind's there.
My mind's not really on my pain
451
00:26:15,520 --> 00:26:18,880
or anything.
And I have noticed before where
452
00:26:18,960 --> 00:26:23,080
if I take some before my shift,
I can go that full 12 hour shift
453
00:26:23,080 --> 00:26:25,840
or 10 hour shift without having
to take any.
454
00:26:25,880 --> 00:26:28,840
And then as soon as I get home
and I take a shower, it does
455
00:26:28,840 --> 00:26:31,640
kind of hit me like a train, you
know, on the pain starts coming
456
00:26:31,640 --> 00:26:34,080
back like crazy.
But then I just take something
457
00:26:34,080 --> 00:26:37,120
that I collapse, you know, and
then I've done for the rest of
458
00:26:37,120 --> 00:26:41,480
the night and I sleep amazing.
So it's definitely from the pain
459
00:26:41,480 --> 00:26:44,240
meds.
It was for a very amount of
460
00:26:44,240 --> 00:26:47,400
time.
I didn't want to overdose or not
461
00:26:47,400 --> 00:26:50,880
overdose, but double dose on my
pain meds just because my pain
462
00:26:50,880 --> 00:26:53,800
came back in two hours.
You know, I want I was me being
463
00:26:53,800 --> 00:26:58,120
in the medical field.
I wanted to do everything book
464
00:26:58,120 --> 00:27:03,320
perfect, if that makes sense,
and so I was waiting exactly
465
00:27:03,320 --> 00:27:07,240
those four to six hours
depending on how high of pain
466
00:27:07,400 --> 00:27:10,680
dose I had.
But with this, I can mess with
467
00:27:10,680 --> 00:27:12,520
it.
If I do have a bad pain day,
468
00:27:12,760 --> 00:27:16,320
sometimes I take a little bit
more than I normally do and then
469
00:27:16,320 --> 00:27:19,160
I'm good.
So I think that's awesome.
470
00:27:19,760 --> 00:27:22,200
That's great is finding what
works for you.
471
00:27:22,560 --> 00:27:24,960
It is great that you've got it
all figured out.
472
00:27:25,480 --> 00:27:28,080
Does it help you with things
other than just pain relief?
473
00:27:28,480 --> 00:27:30,600
You're talking about you like
you get the energy boost.
474
00:27:31,040 --> 00:27:34,680
Yeah, it helps me.
It gets, like I said, during the
475
00:27:34,680 --> 00:27:37,840
day I take a little bit less and
I get that energy boost.
476
00:27:37,840 --> 00:27:40,720
I have that want to go out for a
walk.
477
00:27:40,840 --> 00:27:44,280
You know, when I first started
taking kratom, I never did
478
00:27:44,320 --> 00:27:46,520
walks.
I can't even stop them going on
479
00:27:46,560 --> 00:27:48,560
a walk.
And after I started taking
480
00:27:48,560 --> 00:27:51,720
kratom, I was going to walks
almost every day, twice a day
481
00:27:51,960 --> 00:27:56,240
because I had that energy.
It also really helps with my
482
00:27:56,240 --> 00:27:58,600
mind.
I focus a lot better.
483
00:27:58,920 --> 00:28:03,760
I've noticed that at work I came
to like focus in a lot more and
484
00:28:03,760 --> 00:28:06,760
I'm a little bit more like on my
sheet, which I think is.
485
00:28:06,760 --> 00:28:08,560
Awesome.
That's great.
486
00:28:08,960 --> 00:28:10,960
Yeah.
And I mean, I can imagine how
487
00:28:10,960 --> 00:28:14,120
much that helps you with, you
know, you work with your shifts.
488
00:28:14,120 --> 00:28:18,120
And stuff and being able to, you
know, take care of people and
489
00:28:18,120 --> 00:28:21,800
not be worrying about your pain.
But then also how?
490
00:28:21,800 --> 00:28:25,200
You get the, the energy boost
and, and so many people talk
491
00:28:25,200 --> 00:28:27,320
about the mood boost they get
from it.
492
00:28:27,600 --> 00:28:31,200
I just think of it as like a
pharmacy inside of a plant, you
493
00:28:31,200 --> 00:28:34,800
know?
I mean, the one thing that I
494
00:28:35,160 --> 00:28:40,160
kind of struggled with even when
I started taking this was almost
495
00:28:40,160 --> 00:28:44,480
like I saw how much weed was
getting popular and how people
496
00:28:44,480 --> 00:28:48,680
were going crazy about weed and
how amazing it can be.
497
00:28:48,680 --> 00:28:51,560
And I believe it.
You know, I've seen cancer
498
00:28:51,560 --> 00:28:54,160
patients who I've sat next to in
chemo.
499
00:28:54,440 --> 00:28:58,720
Do they tell me about their weed
and stories and all that stuff.
500
00:28:58,720 --> 00:29:03,880
But how when I wanted to talk to
other people about it, they
501
00:29:03,880 --> 00:29:08,480
would look up item and they
would automatically see all
502
00:29:08,480 --> 00:29:12,120
these negative side effects that
I've never had an issue with.
503
00:29:12,640 --> 00:29:15,440
And then they automatically
judge because then they also
504
00:29:15,440 --> 00:29:17,200
see, oh, it's that opiate
receptor.
505
00:29:17,480 --> 00:29:19,040
So you're just doing it just to
get high.
506
00:29:19,440 --> 00:29:22,760
I don't get high.
You know, I I feel better, but I
507
00:29:22,760 --> 00:29:27,200
don't, I guess connect that into
a payment high.
508
00:29:27,640 --> 00:29:30,160
And you've been on payments.
You kind of understand that
509
00:29:30,160 --> 00:29:34,440
payment high versus just a
little feeling good on Kratom.
510
00:29:34,440 --> 00:29:37,680
It doesn't mean that I'm high.
You know, it just yeah, that
511
00:29:37,680 --> 00:29:40,400
mood boost.
I'm happy I have that energy.
512
00:29:40,400 --> 00:29:44,200
I'm doing stuff.
And so when I did try to tell
513
00:29:44,200 --> 00:29:47,600
some people about it, it was
almost like I was being shamed
514
00:29:47,600 --> 00:29:52,040
for it because like I said, they
would go to Google and they
515
00:29:52,040 --> 00:29:55,880
would see the negative side
effects and tell me how I
516
00:29:55,880 --> 00:29:58,160
shouldn't be doing it.
And I need to try to find, you
517
00:29:58,160 --> 00:30:01,720
know, just deal with pain meds.
But why not try?
518
00:30:01,720 --> 00:30:03,880
If something works for you, why
not do it?
519
00:30:04,240 --> 00:30:08,640
I don't want to be, as much as
I'm all about medicine and, you
520
00:30:08,640 --> 00:30:10,640
know, that's my whole career and
whatnot.
521
00:30:10,920 --> 00:30:14,040
I don't want to be changed for a
pharmaceutical company or just
522
00:30:14,200 --> 00:30:18,120
the pharmacy in general for the
rest of my life where it wasn't
523
00:30:18,120 --> 00:30:20,680
really doing anything.
It wasn't helping my life.
524
00:30:20,880 --> 00:30:23,720
You know, they always talk about
when you go to the pain clinic
525
00:30:23,720 --> 00:30:26,720
or to your doctor, how's the
pain accepting your life?
526
00:30:27,280 --> 00:30:30,480
Well, yeah, it affects my life.
And such an angered web where,
527
00:30:30,480 --> 00:30:34,000
you know, I'm crying in bed.
I can't do anything that day.
528
00:30:34,320 --> 00:30:36,080
I'm not happy.
All of that stuff.
529
00:30:36,320 --> 00:30:39,440
But the pain meds, it doesn't
help me do things around the
530
00:30:39,440 --> 00:30:41,080
house.
It doesn't help me focus.
531
00:30:41,080 --> 00:30:44,320
It doesn't help me think that I
want to live a happy life.
532
00:30:44,600 --> 00:30:47,080
It just takes away the pain.
That's it.
533
00:30:47,440 --> 00:30:49,400
So.
Plus, there's all the side.
534
00:30:49,400 --> 00:30:52,120
Effects you can have with
opiates that we don't have with
535
00:30:52,120 --> 00:30:53,800
kratom.
Exactly.
536
00:30:54,040 --> 00:30:57,720
Like #1 being if you take too
much your breathing will stop
537
00:30:57,720 --> 00:31:00,040
with opiates.
That doesn't happen with kratom.
538
00:31:00,400 --> 00:31:05,240
No, I think, and that was
another thing was working in the
539
00:31:05,240 --> 00:31:09,120
ER and stuff, we would get a lot
of overdoses, especially once
540
00:31:09,120 --> 00:31:12,560
fentanyl became a huge game in
our community here.
541
00:31:12,640 --> 00:31:16,160
I live in Tucson and I'm right
next to the Mexican border, so
542
00:31:16,560 --> 00:31:20,280
we have a pretty big crisis that
happens here in Tucson and
543
00:31:20,680 --> 00:31:24,080
seeing all these opiate
overdoses and whatnot happened
544
00:31:24,520 --> 00:31:27,280
even before fentanyl became a
thing.
545
00:31:27,280 --> 00:31:30,520
I was still seeing heroin
overdoses and stuff like that in
546
00:31:30,520 --> 00:31:35,240
the ER that that's what made me
want to be so book perfect
547
00:31:35,240 --> 00:31:40,560
because I would feel almost like
I failed my medical community
548
00:31:40,560 --> 00:31:44,480
out of way if I did get addicted
or if I did have an accidental
549
00:31:44,480 --> 00:31:48,400
overdose or something like that.
And I just, I didn't want to be
550
00:31:48,400 --> 00:31:51,560
like that, you know?
But with creatine, if I take too
551
00:31:51,560 --> 00:31:57,160
much, the one thing I notice is
my eyes do that like or whatever
552
00:31:57,160 --> 00:32:00,280
you want to call it.
Or I just throw it up and then
553
00:32:00,280 --> 00:32:02,640
I'm like, OK, that's it, you
know?
554
00:32:03,040 --> 00:32:06,240
Well, kratom is in the same
family as coffee, so it makes
555
00:32:06,240 --> 00:32:09,800
sense to me that too much, you
know, of it could make you a
556
00:32:09,800 --> 00:32:12,640
little jittery or or you know,
feel like you're over
557
00:32:12,640 --> 00:32:14,600
caffeinated.
And you know, to me, that makes
558
00:32:14,600 --> 00:32:16,720
sense.
I understand your frustration
559
00:32:16,720 --> 00:32:19,080
when people go and Google kratom
and they get all that
560
00:32:19,080 --> 00:32:22,720
misinformation and propaganda.
You were lucky that when you
561
00:32:22,720 --> 00:32:25,960
Googled it, you found good
information and you had a very
562
00:32:25,960 --> 00:32:29,960
positive experience because even
five years ago when I started
563
00:32:30,120 --> 00:32:33,000
and I was researching, there was
a lot of negative stuff I came
564
00:32:33,000 --> 00:32:35,160
across.
So I'm glad that you saw the
565
00:32:35,160 --> 00:32:39,120
positive, but people are just
not educating themselves.
566
00:32:39,120 --> 00:32:41,720
I think when they read like you
were saying before, when they
567
00:32:41,720 --> 00:32:46,680
read that kratom works on the
opioid receptors, everybody just
568
00:32:47,040 --> 00:32:50,280
I guess thinks they're a medical
doctor now and they think that
569
00:32:50,280 --> 00:32:53,760
that equals is an opioid and it
doesn't.
570
00:32:53,920 --> 00:32:58,720
Do they not know that like she's
go to your opioid receptors,
571
00:32:58,720 --> 00:33:02,200
Like all these things that we
ingest every day hit on the
572
00:33:02,200 --> 00:33:05,360
opioid receptors, People don't
realize that it doesn't mean
573
00:33:05,360 --> 00:33:07,200
it's an opioid.
Right.
574
00:33:07,440 --> 00:33:11,960
Yeah, no, the one thing.
Or not the one thing, but yeah,
575
00:33:11,960 --> 00:33:15,400
it was automatically being
connected or oh, kratom's just a
576
00:33:15,400 --> 00:33:21,800
legal opiate and no, it's not.
Or kratom can cause seizures or
577
00:33:21,800 --> 00:33:24,040
it can cause deaths and all of
that stuff.
578
00:33:24,040 --> 00:33:28,200
But when you actually do the
research on it, any death that
579
00:33:28,200 --> 00:33:32,840
was linked to kratom, they had
something else in the system and
580
00:33:32,840 --> 00:33:35,920
it's probably them trying to get
that high.
581
00:33:35,960 --> 00:33:39,040
You know, I don't know.
And I'm not here to judge
582
00:33:39,040 --> 00:33:40,760
anything.
And that's very sad.
583
00:33:40,760 --> 00:33:43,480
But just because they have
kratom in the system doesn't
584
00:33:43,480 --> 00:33:45,720
mean that they over they died on
kratom.
585
00:33:46,160 --> 00:33:49,680
I do believe that is a very safe
plant that if you use it
586
00:33:50,080 --> 00:33:53,360
properly, then it can be amazing
for you.
587
00:33:53,760 --> 00:33:58,240
There was I took a year or I
took two years off of kratom.
588
00:33:58,600 --> 00:34:02,640
I recently just started again
back in July actually, but
589
00:34:02,640 --> 00:34:06,920
because I started having some
kidney issues and my doctor told
590
00:34:06,920 --> 00:34:09,400
me that, oh, it's he, you're
taking kratom.
591
00:34:09,600 --> 00:34:15,120
So I stopped taking kratom and I
was then again back on that
592
00:34:15,120 --> 00:34:19,080
pharmaceutical journey of mine
that I was not happy about
593
00:34:19,080 --> 00:34:24,239
whatsoever.
And I almost, I didn't solely
594
00:34:24,239 --> 00:34:27,080
want to believe that the issue
because of my kidneys.
595
00:34:27,440 --> 00:34:29,920
Turns out it wasn't.
It was because of all of the
596
00:34:29,920 --> 00:34:32,920
medication I was thrown at
before I got diagnosed with
597
00:34:33,159 --> 00:34:36,480
ovarian cancer that they didn't
know what was wrong with them.
598
00:34:36,480 --> 00:34:39,159
So they were just throwing brand
of medication at me.
599
00:34:39,159 --> 00:34:44,560
And so that ended up ruining my
kidneys and wow, to kind of go
600
00:34:44,639 --> 00:34:48,800
back to that doctor and be like,
no, it's, I promise you it's not
601
00:34:48,800 --> 00:34:51,560
kratom.
But of course doctors and people
602
00:34:51,560 --> 00:34:56,199
in the medical field, I mean,
they get somewhat of, I don't
603
00:34:56,280 --> 00:35:00,240
want to say it kickback or
anything like that, but they get
604
00:35:00,240 --> 00:35:02,760
told, hey, you have to follow
this.
605
00:35:02,760 --> 00:35:05,320
You have to take these meds and
you'll be fine and you'll be
606
00:35:05,320 --> 00:35:07,440
fair.
And they don't like it when you
607
00:35:07,440 --> 00:35:10,680
go off the path of your own and
try to figure things out on your
608
00:35:10,680 --> 00:35:13,480
own.
And that's also another thing
609
00:35:13,480 --> 00:35:17,000
that I kind of realized that
being on my creative journey was
610
00:35:17,400 --> 00:35:20,920
how doctors automatically you
tell them that you're not afraid
611
00:35:20,920 --> 00:35:22,800
of them.
It's the worst thing they ever
612
00:35:22,800 --> 00:35:24,320
heard.
You could be telling them you're
613
00:35:24,320 --> 00:35:26,240
doing heroin.
It probably kind of that's a
614
00:35:26,240 --> 00:35:28,360
little bit better.
So that's, it was really
615
00:35:28,360 --> 00:35:31,760
interesting just to kind of see
for me being in medical
616
00:35:31,760 --> 00:35:35,640
community, finding Kratom out,
trying to tell them from a
617
00:35:35,640 --> 00:35:40,800
medical standpoint why this is
amazing, why it works for me,
618
00:35:41,160 --> 00:35:45,120
why I don't want to do pain meds
and nerve blockers and all that
619
00:35:45,120 --> 00:35:47,920
stuff.
And then on the other side,
620
00:35:48,000 --> 00:35:52,040
fighting it because they did a
Google search of it or they just
621
00:35:52,080 --> 00:35:57,040
did that propaganda pretty much.
I always send when people like
622
00:35:57,160 --> 00:36:00,080
in the medical profession or
just people that want to learn
623
00:36:00,080 --> 00:36:03,200
more about the science, I send
them to kratomanswers.org.
624
00:36:03,480 --> 00:36:06,880
That's a website put together by
the American Krame Association
625
00:36:07,160 --> 00:36:10,280
and is is more about the science
and facts on kratom.
626
00:36:10,280 --> 00:36:13,600
So I think that's always a good
starting point to send people
627
00:36:13,640 --> 00:36:15,560
that are trying to understand
kratom.
628
00:36:15,840 --> 00:36:19,320
I have never had anybody in the
medical profession that I've
629
00:36:19,320 --> 00:36:21,480
been around that even knew what
it was.
630
00:36:21,480 --> 00:36:24,480
Now the first few years I took
kratom, I never mentioned it to
631
00:36:24,520 --> 00:36:26,560
a doctor.
I just wasn't comfortable yet.
632
00:36:26,840 --> 00:36:32,240
But over time I decided to let
doctors know that this is what I
633
00:36:32,240 --> 00:36:33,680
take.
Like I don't take opioids
634
00:36:33,680 --> 00:36:37,280
anymore.
I take I utilize a plant and and
635
00:36:37,280 --> 00:36:39,640
able to take charge of my own
health with it.
636
00:36:39,960 --> 00:36:44,560
And I have not had any
negativity from that luckily.
637
00:36:44,920 --> 00:36:48,880
But also, I'm in a big city and
if I need to fire a doctor, I
638
00:36:48,880 --> 00:36:52,120
will because I'm not going to
let somebody in the medical
639
00:36:52,120 --> 00:36:55,480
profession that doesn't know
what kratom is try to dictate to
640
00:36:55,480 --> 00:36:59,160
me what's best for me because I
don't want to go back to
641
00:36:59,160 --> 00:37:01,120
opioids.
I will if I have to.
642
00:37:01,360 --> 00:37:04,160
But I think kratom gets a bad
rap like you were saying, like
643
00:37:04,280 --> 00:37:07,240
they always want to assume
something's wrong with us is
644
00:37:07,240 --> 00:37:10,280
because of kratom.
And that always seems to be
645
00:37:10,280 --> 00:37:15,600
blamed with everything.
And it's interesting that you
646
00:37:15,600 --> 00:37:19,520
were able to show that that's
not what it was and able to go
647
00:37:19,520 --> 00:37:23,440
back to kratom.
Did it enlighten the doctor at
648
00:37:23,440 --> 00:37:26,440
all when y'all were able to
figure out that it was not
649
00:37:26,440 --> 00:37:28,200
kratom?
Not really.
650
00:37:28,320 --> 00:37:33,680
You know, I did my research and
I woke up the medications that I
651
00:37:33,680 --> 00:37:39,160
was on before and you know,
obviously I would say 8 out of
652
00:37:39,200 --> 00:37:43,840
10, it was these can cause
kidney damage or the amount of
653
00:37:43,840 --> 00:37:49,240
ibuprofen I was taking can cause
kidney damage, you know, and
654
00:37:49,880 --> 00:37:54,120
when I did try to tell him about
it, it was, Oh no, no, no, like
655
00:37:54,440 --> 00:37:57,480
he just did not want to hear it.
I didn't care if I showed him
656
00:37:57,680 --> 00:38:01,720
exact sign like you said from
American Kratom Association, it
657
00:38:01,880 --> 00:38:04,640
would not matter to him.
I've also had an experience
658
00:38:04,640 --> 00:38:10,520
where I recently was telling a
friend of mine that about kratom
659
00:38:10,680 --> 00:38:14,160
and whatnot and they
automatically I sent them.
660
00:38:14,160 --> 00:38:18,840
I, I even believe I sent them a
page from your website about
661
00:38:18,840 --> 00:38:21,680
kratom and stuff like that.
And I send a bunch of different
662
00:38:21,680 --> 00:38:25,760
links on why I take it and how
this is amazing and whatnot.
663
00:38:26,200 --> 00:38:29,040
And automatically, Oh well,
that's just a cult.
664
00:38:29,080 --> 00:38:30,880
Like obviously it's just a
biased opinion.
665
00:38:30,880 --> 00:38:33,240
They're going to say that no
matter what because they're on
666
00:38:33,240 --> 00:38:35,240
it.
No, just read it.
667
00:38:35,560 --> 00:38:37,960
Like I promise you, it's not
what you think it is.
668
00:38:38,800 --> 00:38:41,600
So you know the reason the top
kratom researchers in the
669
00:38:41,600 --> 00:38:46,080
country do not consume kratom?
They're totally unbiased and
670
00:38:46,080 --> 00:38:50,760
their research shows that is not
dangerous, that it's not killing
671
00:38:50,760 --> 00:38:54,960
a lot of people, that it is
almost always Poly drug use when
672
00:38:54,960 --> 00:38:59,360
there is a death and that kratom
gets blamed when it turns out
673
00:38:59,360 --> 00:39:03,680
that they had heroin in their
system or fentanyl or all these
674
00:39:03,680 --> 00:39:06,560
other drugs.
There was even a reported kratom
675
00:39:06,560 --> 00:39:10,120
death years back.
The dude had a shotgun blast to
676
00:39:10,120 --> 00:39:12,320
the chest, but they called it a
kratom death.
677
00:39:13,520 --> 00:39:18,360
So it just really shows you the
level of either stupidity or
678
00:39:18,360 --> 00:39:21,080
corruption, you know, and take
your pick.
679
00:39:21,080 --> 00:39:23,520
I mean, there, it's like it's
ridiculous.
680
00:39:23,520 --> 00:39:26,600
And that's why we need more
advocates in the world like us
681
00:39:26,600 --> 00:39:29,680
that are talking about this plan
and normalizing it.
682
00:39:29,680 --> 00:39:34,080
And with you being in the
medical community, you know, you
683
00:39:34,080 --> 00:39:37,160
have that opportunity to educate
like you were just telling with
684
00:39:37,160 --> 00:39:40,400
that story and educating
somebody in the field.
685
00:39:40,640 --> 00:39:43,400
Do you feel like it's just you
just keep hitting a brick wall
686
00:39:43,440 --> 00:39:46,320
in the community, just trying
the medical community?
687
00:39:46,720 --> 00:39:51,160
Right now I do.
There's one doctor that I worked
688
00:39:51,160 --> 00:39:55,840
with a while ago in the ER.
Who actually saw me take some?
689
00:39:55,880 --> 00:40:01,400
I was in my little corner and he
saw me take some and it was the
690
00:40:01,400 --> 00:40:05,000
middle of my shift and whatnot.
And I quickly was like, Oh no,
691
00:40:05,240 --> 00:40:07,160
bring vitamins, nothing, you
know?
692
00:40:07,200 --> 00:40:11,080
And he recognized the bag and
he's like, no, that's for
693
00:40:11,080 --> 00:40:14,680
freedom.
And he was the only doctor and
694
00:40:14,680 --> 00:40:18,320
any other medical professional.
So nurses, Techs.
695
00:40:18,880 --> 00:40:20,360
Pharmacy tests, all of that
stuff.
696
00:40:20,560 --> 00:40:23,800
He knew what it was and he was
actually open to it.
697
00:40:23,800 --> 00:40:27,480
He's like, I don't know much
about it, but I know I seen some
698
00:40:27,480 --> 00:40:31,920
of my patients come in here and
like we'll say like drug addicts
699
00:40:31,920 --> 00:40:36,080
who use it for withdraw and I
seen them change for the better
700
00:40:36,080 --> 00:40:38,040
because they said they were
starting to take kratom.
701
00:40:38,400 --> 00:40:41,080
So he you know, he's like, I
don't have enough information to
702
00:40:41,080 --> 00:40:44,440
speak on it, but I said how to
figure paying do it.
703
00:40:44,800 --> 00:40:50,120
So that was the one person who
accepted me for me, I guess.
704
00:40:50,960 --> 00:40:54,120
But other than that, I didn't
try to talk about it.
705
00:40:54,320 --> 00:40:57,080
But even I work on that.
I just recently worked on a
706
00:40:57,120 --> 00:41:03,560
chiropractic office and he is
completely anti like 100% all
707
00:41:03,560 --> 00:41:08,280
about ballistic stuff.
And he didn't know about kratom.
708
00:41:08,640 --> 00:41:11,160
And, you know, I kind of talked
about it with him a little bit
709
00:41:11,160 --> 00:41:14,040
just because I know that he was
in the holistic community and
710
00:41:14,040 --> 00:41:17,360
whatnot.
And, and he again, he looked it
711
00:41:17,360 --> 00:41:18,840
up.
I tried to send him some links
712
00:41:18,840 --> 00:41:22,560
about it and he just
automatically owned Google.
713
00:41:22,560 --> 00:41:26,200
The first thing, you know, death
hit me family.
714
00:41:26,200 --> 00:41:29,240
You're like all of this stuff.
He's like, Oh no, no, I would
715
00:41:29,240 --> 00:41:35,000
never like, but yet take all
these supplements that honestly
716
00:41:35,000 --> 00:41:37,360
don't have any FDA research on
it.
717
00:41:37,360 --> 00:41:40,280
And you think that's fine, but
you won't do any research on the
718
00:41:40,280 --> 00:41:44,240
kratom so.
I think, you know, in your case,
719
00:41:44,240 --> 00:41:47,520
you're just able to show through
example like how great you're
720
00:41:47,520 --> 00:41:51,280
doing and they've got it.
The people that you work with in
721
00:41:51,280 --> 00:41:54,200
the medical profession, you've
got to see like how great you do
722
00:41:54,440 --> 00:41:58,080
considering your history with
pain, with cancer, with all the
723
00:41:58,080 --> 00:42:00,800
things you've been through over
the years.
724
00:42:01,160 --> 00:42:04,760
Like in my case, I'm not in the
medical profession, but like my
725
00:42:04,760 --> 00:42:08,080
primary care physician is so on
board with the she doesn't know
726
00:42:08,080 --> 00:42:10,800
about Kratom.
And several years ago when I,
727
00:42:10,960 --> 00:42:13,000
she was a newer primary care for
me.
728
00:42:13,000 --> 00:42:16,160
So I just started from day one.
I was just going to inform her
729
00:42:16,160 --> 00:42:18,640
that by the way, I take a
botanical supplement called
730
00:42:18,640 --> 00:42:20,960
kratom so I don't have to take
opioids anymore.
731
00:42:20,960 --> 00:42:24,880
And it's already in my chart,
you know, it shows in the chart.
732
00:42:24,880 --> 00:42:27,920
So she can clearly see that I
have degenerative disc disease.
733
00:42:27,920 --> 00:42:31,560
I have all, all the different
things and that I have been
734
00:42:31,560 --> 00:42:34,280
treated and knows nine years of
pain management.
735
00:42:34,280 --> 00:42:37,200
So, you know, it's all available
for her to access.
736
00:42:37,440 --> 00:42:42,080
So with me going to her either
once or for a while doing twice
737
00:42:42,080 --> 00:42:43,520
a year, I just go once a year
now.
738
00:42:43,840 --> 00:42:47,520
But she could see through me how
well I'm doing and I would
739
00:42:47,520 --> 00:42:50,960
always make a point to remind
her that I consume Kratom, which
740
00:42:50,960 --> 00:42:55,240
is just a plant and she was one
time she goes, I'll have to look
741
00:42:55,240 --> 00:42:57,560
into that.
Where should I go online?
742
00:42:57,560 --> 00:43:01,040
And I gave her Crater basers.org
and she even wrote in the chart
743
00:43:01,040 --> 00:43:04,040
because when I went into the my
chart to see her notes and even
744
00:43:04,040 --> 00:43:06,920
showed that.
And I felt like that's my way of
745
00:43:06,920 --> 00:43:11,000
advocating in the medical field
is to normalize it, to educate
746
00:43:11,000 --> 00:43:15,720
them so that the next time she
hears about it, she's going to
747
00:43:15,720 --> 00:43:17,120
Remember Me.
I'm like, yeah, I have this
748
00:43:17,120 --> 00:43:20,160
patient that does really well,
and she doesn't take pain beds
749
00:43:20,160 --> 00:43:22,000
anymore.
She's been using this planet for
750
00:43:22,000 --> 00:43:24,560
five years.
And every time I see her, she
751
00:43:24,560 --> 00:43:27,040
looks great.
Her labs are always great.
752
00:43:27,040 --> 00:43:29,840
I've never had any lab issues
since I've been consuming
753
00:43:29,840 --> 00:43:30,520
kratom.
What?
754
00:43:30,520 --> 00:43:33,200
What about you?
The only thing I have issues
755
00:43:33,200 --> 00:43:36,960
with my I'm anemic and I have an
iron deficiency but other than
756
00:43:36,960 --> 00:43:41,840
that since I went into since I
went into remission from cancer
757
00:43:42,160 --> 00:43:46,200
my lags have looked always been
perfect like I've never had an
758
00:43:46,200 --> 00:43:47,520
issue.
Every time I go and get my
759
00:43:47,520 --> 00:43:51,800
vitals done, perfect everything
perfect so I've never seen an
760
00:43:51,800 --> 00:43:53,160
issue.
That's correct.
761
00:43:54,240 --> 00:43:56,720
Well, I'm so glad you're on your
mission and you've been through
762
00:43:56,720 --> 00:44:01,240
a lot in your life.
I'm so glad we met on TikTok and
763
00:44:01,240 --> 00:44:03,040
having you come on here and
Share your story.
764
00:44:03,320 --> 00:44:06,200
So you're like me, been
consuming kratom for five years.
765
00:44:06,200 --> 00:44:08,560
My last question is knowing
everything you know now about
766
00:44:08,560 --> 00:44:11,200
kratom, you know a lot.
What advice would you give to
767
00:44:11,200 --> 00:44:13,360
somebody who was just starting
out?
768
00:44:13,360 --> 00:44:16,120
Now they're researching it and
like helping them.
769
00:44:16,320 --> 00:44:20,960
I know starting is so hard for a
lot of people, So what advice
770
00:44:20,960 --> 00:44:24,440
would you share?
The one thing I would say what I
771
00:44:24,440 --> 00:44:29,560
did was find a gun website that
shows the different colors, the
772
00:44:29,560 --> 00:44:32,440
different strands and exactly
what you're looking for.
773
00:44:32,720 --> 00:44:39,080
And then just if you can buy
little 5G bags of different
774
00:44:39,080 --> 00:44:41,720
strands, different colors and go
from there.
775
00:44:41,960 --> 00:44:44,800
Test your dosage.
Don't take too much at once.
776
00:44:44,840 --> 00:44:47,240
Take just a little, you know,
teaspoon of it.
777
00:44:47,480 --> 00:44:50,640
Wait a little bit, like wait 30
minutes, see how you feel.
778
00:44:50,640 --> 00:44:52,480
Can you take a little bit more?
Do that.
779
00:44:52,840 --> 00:44:56,120
If you know you did take too
much, you're probably going to
780
00:44:56,120 --> 00:45:00,080
throw it up like I did.
But definitely start slower than
781
00:45:00,360 --> 00:45:04,040
going big or go home.
And I would just say test what
782
00:45:04,040 --> 00:45:07,920
works best for you.
Little 5 grand bags are not that
783
00:45:07,920 --> 00:45:12,440
expensive and just see what
works best for you.
784
00:45:12,480 --> 00:45:17,000
But my biggest thing is research
what colors might be best for
785
00:45:17,000 --> 00:45:20,960
you and then what strain and
then what that strain might do
786
00:45:20,960 --> 00:45:23,160
for you.
Try it, if it doesn't work for
787
00:45:23,200 --> 00:45:27,280
you then go on to the next one.
That's all excellent advice,
788
00:45:27,320 --> 00:45:28,720
Barrel.
Thank you so much for coming on
789
00:45:28,720 --> 00:45:30,360
the podcast and sharing your
story.
790
00:45:30,360 --> 00:45:32,200
I know this will help so many
people.
791
00:45:32,720 --> 00:45:35,080
Thank you so much for having me.
I'm really excited that I was
792
00:45:35,080 --> 00:45:38,080
able to actually finally share
my story and someone like, you
793
00:45:38,080 --> 00:45:41,280
know, I just, I'm so happy and
thankful for that.
794
00:45:41,280 --> 00:45:42,280
So thank you so much.
Thank.

Paramedic
I am 28 yrs old, and i have been on and off of kratom for the last 5 years. I first found out about kratom doing research about natural pain relief but not weed. I was going through cancer at the time and I didnt like being on strong opioids. I did about a month of research and finally tried it from a smoke shop down the street. The first few times were rough but after a week or so i was pain free and felt better than i had in a long time. I still take it because my chronic pain i have. It allows me to live life to the fullest! Not only I am pain free but it gives me a mind boost, energy boost, and mood boost. I can work amazingly as a medic and be pain free for a whole 12hr shift.
