Ep 87: From Chaos to Clarity: Lea Lyden’s Journey from Addiction to Healing with Kratom

Lea Lyden shares how natural Kratom helped her end cravings, stop multiple medications, manage PTSD and ADHD, and regain stability after decades of addiction and mental health struggles.

Lea Lyden spent her early life navigating trauma, addiction, and years of cycling through antidepressants, anti-anxiety medications, and stimulant misuse. Even as a licensed clinician and single mother, she carried intrusive thoughts, executive dysfunction, and the lingering effects of childhood abuse. Her first attempt at Kratom years ago went nowhere, and a later run-in with extracts only added confusion about what Kratom actually was.

Everything shifted when Lea discovered natural leaf Kratom through education and community. She switched to reputable vendors and found herself stepping out of lifelong patterns: alcohol cravings disappeared, stimulant misuse stopped overnight, and she no longer needed the stack of medications she once relied on. Kratom also eased her IBS, menopause symptoms, chronic pain, and gave her the mental clarity to be present at work and at home. Lea says Kratom brought balance, steadiness, and a sense of control that had been missing for most of her life.

1
00:00:00,200 --> 00:00:05,040
But my mood, the depression, the
ADHD and let me also say this.

2
00:00:05,200 --> 00:00:11,320
I have 0 cravings, 0 cravings
for alcohol.

3
00:00:13,400 --> 00:00:16,120
ADHDI haven't touched my my ADHD
meds.

4
00:00:16,280 --> 00:00:19,320
I haven't even thought about it.
But you know, I'm not allowed to

5
00:00:19,320 --> 00:00:21,400
drink with it.
It, it keeps me in check, but

6
00:00:21,400 --> 00:00:24,200
you know, it eliminated all the
cravings and that's the only

7
00:00:24,200 --> 00:00:29,560
thing in my entire life that has
ever kept me like on the

8
00:00:29,560 --> 00:00:32,640
straight and narrow, even with
my, my green card.

9
00:00:32,720 --> 00:00:35,120
It used to be you're ripping it
all day.

10
00:00:36,160 --> 00:00:38,760
Now it's a little gummy at night
and then I go to bed.

11
00:00:38,840 --> 00:00:42,120
It it's like how you're supposed
to be doing it.

12
00:00:43,280 --> 00:00:47,360
And I can't believe it.
I, I, I, I really can't believe

13
00:00:47,360 --> 00:00:50,520
it.
And I have IBS irritable bowel

14
00:00:51,640 --> 00:00:55,200
also helps with that.
It's cured it.

15
00:01:06,080 --> 00:01:09,440
Hey friends, before we dive in,
I want to share something really

16
00:01:09,440 --> 00:01:11,960
important.
A lot of us are frustrated right

17
00:01:11,960 --> 00:01:15,640
now with censorship on social
media like Facebook and TikTok,

18
00:01:15,720 --> 00:01:17,240
all because we talk about
kratom.

19
00:01:17,240 --> 00:01:20,680
That's why I built a space where
we can speak freely and support

20
00:01:20,680 --> 00:01:23,640
each other without any fear.
It's called kratom Real talk.

21
00:01:23,880 --> 00:01:26,560
You can join us at
kratomrealtalk.com.

22
00:01:26,800 --> 00:01:28,480
I would love to have you there
with us.

23
00:01:28,480 --> 00:01:30,440
Now let's get on to today's
episode.

24
00:01:30,800 --> 00:01:35,000
So I'm here with Leah Lydon,
somebody I've met through the

25
00:01:35,000 --> 00:01:39,400
power of the Internet, social
media, TikTok, and our Kratom

26
00:01:39,400 --> 00:01:41,720
Real Talk community over on the
school platform with no

27
00:01:41,720 --> 00:01:44,880
censorship.
Leah, I'm so glad you wanted to

28
00:01:44,880 --> 00:01:48,240
come on and Share your story.
Thank you for being here.

29
00:01:48,680 --> 00:01:51,640
Thank you for having me and of
course thank you for doing this.

30
00:01:53,120 --> 00:01:58,000
It was definitely you and Jordan
on TikTok that encouraged me to

31
00:01:58,000 --> 00:02:02,720
give kratom leaf leaf a try
again.

32
00:02:03,960 --> 00:02:11,160
It's been less than a year of my
full time, you know, with intent

33
00:02:11,160 --> 00:02:16,400
using kratom and how I found it
again.

34
00:02:16,640 --> 00:02:19,280
Well, let me start.
Let me let me go back about 3

35
00:02:19,280 --> 00:02:23,000
years ago.
I heard about kratom and I heard

36
00:02:23,000 --> 00:02:25,520
that a little bit was like a
stimulant more was like an

37
00:02:25,520 --> 00:02:27,120
opiate.
And I was like, OK, that might

38
00:02:27,120 --> 00:02:30,640
be something nice to do at night
to relax and everything.

39
00:02:30,640 --> 00:02:35,600
I do have my green card, so I'm
not, you know, unfamiliar with

40
00:02:35,600 --> 00:02:39,360
plant medicine.
And I tried to take a lot of it

41
00:02:39,440 --> 00:02:41,440
because I wanted to get that
relaxed feeling.

42
00:02:41,440 --> 00:02:43,200
And I just threw up.
What?

43
00:02:44,080 --> 00:02:47,720
The Oh no, it was.
It, well, it is the probably one

44
00:02:47,720 --> 00:02:50,520
of the worst things I've ever
had to taste in my life.

45
00:02:50,920 --> 00:02:54,760
So I couldn't even take, I
couldn't even take it.

46
00:02:54,760 --> 00:02:58,200
So I threw it out, wound up just
just tossing it saying this is

47
00:02:58,200 --> 00:03:02,200
not for me, this is not for me.
Fast forward a couple of years,

48
00:03:02,200 --> 00:03:06,480
I hear on TikTok all about
kratom and how it's helping

49
00:03:06,480 --> 00:03:09,760
people with pain.
And then I I actually saw Jordan

50
00:03:09,760 --> 00:03:14,600
talking about addiction and I
was like, OK, because I do have

51
00:03:14,600 --> 00:03:19,680
a history of substance abuse
issues big time.

52
00:03:20,160 --> 00:03:25,200
So I went to the smoke shop and
I said do you have kratom and

53
00:03:25,200 --> 00:03:28,760
they said yes.
He handed me feel free.

54
00:03:30,040 --> 00:03:33,640
Oh.
I said OK oh it has cava in it

55
00:03:33,640 --> 00:03:37,360
too.
So I took it and tried to get it

56
00:03:37,360 --> 00:03:40,520
down and I did.
I got about half of the bottle

57
00:03:40,520 --> 00:03:44,400
down and I felt great.
I did I I was able to get things

58
00:03:44,400 --> 00:03:47,560
done and I thought that this was
kratom kratom.

59
00:03:47,680 --> 00:03:51,440
So I was doing 1 bottle on my
day off to get the house clean.

60
00:03:52,560 --> 00:03:57,320
And then I found out that it's
this seven OH, which I had

61
00:03:57,320 --> 00:04:01,160
really no idea even existed,
never even really heard about

62
00:04:01,160 --> 00:04:04,400
it.
And then I started seeing more

63
00:04:04,400 --> 00:04:07,000
and more and more on TikTok
about people that were addicted

64
00:04:07,000 --> 00:04:09,880
to them.
So I said, let me switch over

65
00:04:09,880 --> 00:04:13,720
back to the leaf.
And I listened to you and your

66
00:04:13,720 --> 00:04:16,959
recommendations and I ordered
some from New Hope Botanicals

67
00:04:17,320 --> 00:04:20,640
and Christopher's Organic
Botanicals.

68
00:04:21,320 --> 00:04:23,880
And that that's it.
My life hasn't been the same

69
00:04:23,880 --> 00:04:28,840
since I am.
It's replaced antidepressants,

70
00:04:29,080 --> 00:04:36,160
anti anxiety, ADHD meds.
I I, I can't.

71
00:04:36,480 --> 00:04:37,680
I don't even.
It's done a lot.

72
00:04:37,680 --> 00:04:41,480
It's done a lot for you.
Wow, there's a lot to unpack

73
00:04:41,480 --> 00:04:43,640
here.
First of all, Feel free is a

74
00:04:43,640 --> 00:04:48,200
kratom cava extract.
It's not a 708 product, but it

75
00:04:48,200 --> 00:04:52,320
is a, you know, extract is going
to be much stronger than leaf.

76
00:04:52,760 --> 00:04:56,400
So I, you know, when I said, uh
oh, it's because I, I hate when

77
00:04:56,400 --> 00:04:59,400
somebody for the very first
time, that's their experience is

78
00:04:59,400 --> 00:05:03,240
trying an extract because it's
going to be super strong,

79
00:05:03,800 --> 00:05:07,720
Whereas I'm all about natural
leaf kratom, which I think is

80
00:05:07,720 --> 00:05:13,040
just the best thing ever.
So, but it's not a seven O each

81
00:05:13,040 --> 00:05:16,040
product that there are a lot of
seven O each products on the

82
00:05:16,040 --> 00:05:21,280
market right now, but it's not
that particular extract.

83
00:05:22,720 --> 00:05:24,360
Then that's good.
That's good.

84
00:05:24,360 --> 00:05:25,360
So that's good.
You didn't.

85
00:05:25,360 --> 00:05:27,000
You didn't go down down that
road.

86
00:05:28,640 --> 00:05:32,520
But yeah, natural leaf.
I, I just a big fan of it.

87
00:05:32,520 --> 00:05:35,640
It's great to hear that is
helping you so much and being

88
00:05:35,640 --> 00:05:38,680
able to stop taking a bunch of
pharmaceuticals.

89
00:05:38,920 --> 00:05:42,600
Why don't we kind of back up
like prior to even before three

90
00:05:42,600 --> 00:05:44,280
years ago when you first
discovered it.

91
00:05:44,280 --> 00:05:47,560
Tell us a little bit about
yourself and like life before

92
00:05:47,560 --> 00:05:49,800
kratom ever even came into the
picture.

93
00:05:50,720 --> 00:05:59,240
Yeah, well, I had a, a pretty
rough childhood as far as the

94
00:05:59,240 --> 00:06:04,120
household that I lived in.
Very strict, very, I don't want

95
00:06:04,120 --> 00:06:09,080
to say traditional, but that old
school Italian type growing up,

96
00:06:10,640 --> 00:06:15,080
it was definitely abusive.
You know, they call it love off

97
00:06:15,080 --> 00:06:18,000
love if you would, but it was
definitely abusive.

98
00:06:18,000 --> 00:06:22,120
It it definitely led me to
substances for sure.

99
00:06:22,840 --> 00:06:28,520
By the time I was 17, I was full
blown alcoholic, full blown and

100
00:06:28,520 --> 00:06:32,880
also probably addicted to benzos
by the time I was 17.

101
00:06:33,680 --> 00:06:40,800
By the time I was 24, I had
three DU is and I actually did

102
00:06:40,800 --> 00:06:46,520
some time in jail for that,
which you know, was what I

103
00:06:46,520 --> 00:06:51,840
needed because I wasn't having
any consequences for my actions.

104
00:06:51,840 --> 00:06:57,800
So I did need that.
So that was all before the age

105
00:06:57,800 --> 00:07:01,520
of like 25.
So it was a rough, rough couple

106
00:07:01,520 --> 00:07:08,040
of years there.
Many years after that, I wound

107
00:07:08,040 --> 00:07:10,840
up going back to school, got my
degree in social work.

108
00:07:12,040 --> 00:07:17,520
Then I went, had my children,
wound up going back and getting

109
00:07:17,520 --> 00:07:19,800
my masters.
I was raised raising them as a

110
00:07:19,840 --> 00:07:22,480
single mom.
So it's always been very rough

111
00:07:22,480 --> 00:07:23,760
for me.
I've always struggled

112
00:07:23,760 --> 00:07:25,480
significantly with my mental
health.

113
00:07:25,480 --> 00:07:28,800
It runs in the family, but
that's why I became social

114
00:07:28,800 --> 00:07:32,680
worker and and that's, you know,
that's why I do what I do.

115
00:07:34,200 --> 00:07:37,960
I've always had my medical card
as as soon as it was legal and

116
00:07:37,960 --> 00:07:41,440
that I will always keep.
But I haven't drank

117
00:07:41,520 --> 00:07:43,440
alcoholically for about 18
years.

118
00:07:43,440 --> 00:07:49,560
My son's 18, so I'll have, well,
it's funny because kratom kind

119
00:07:49,560 --> 00:07:53,120
of keeps me in check.
If you would, I, I really do

120
00:07:53,120 --> 00:07:56,600
feel that it gives you a
personalized treatment plan.

121
00:07:56,600 --> 00:07:58,720
If you would, it kind of knows
what you need.

122
00:07:59,160 --> 00:08:05,280
So like, I it, it, I, if I have
a drink, one drink, it will

123
00:08:05,280 --> 00:08:09,280
dehydrate me to the point of
instant issues like

124
00:08:09,480 --> 00:08:10,840
Constipation, if that makes
sense.

125
00:08:10,840 --> 00:08:13,760
And I drink a ton of water.
So like, it keeps me in check.

126
00:08:13,880 --> 00:08:16,600
Like I can't even have one
because I, I will be sick the

127
00:08:16,600 --> 00:08:18,560
next day.
Like I won't even be able to.

128
00:08:19,000 --> 00:08:21,880
So, but yeah, so I got into
substances.

129
00:08:22,080 --> 00:08:26,080
I, I wound up kind of white
knuckling it trying to avoid the

130
00:08:26,400 --> 00:08:29,760
pharmaceuticals.
And eventually I did get on

131
00:08:29,760 --> 00:08:31,920
them.
Like I told you, multiple,

132
00:08:31,920 --> 00:08:36,200
multiple of them.
But even then, like with my ADHD

133
00:08:36,200 --> 00:08:38,320
meds, I would look for a way to
abuse it.

134
00:08:38,320 --> 00:08:42,640
I would snort them.
I would snort them high

135
00:08:42,640 --> 00:08:46,000
functioning, getting ready for
work, you know, masters level

136
00:08:46,000 --> 00:08:49,040
clinician have a look my
clinical license and I'll start

137
00:08:49,040 --> 00:08:52,280
my Adderall, you know, just to
like, I don't know, have that

138
00:08:52,400 --> 00:08:58,480
attic behavior and but yeah,
that that well, that was before

139
00:08:58,560 --> 00:09:00,720
kratom, you know, and now I
found it.

140
00:09:01,240 --> 00:09:04,560
So it's just completely changed
my life.

141
00:09:04,560 --> 00:09:08,920
I, I, I, I can't believe that
there's just nothing really good

142
00:09:08,920 --> 00:09:15,680
on research that points to good
because I, I guess we're maybe

143
00:09:15,680 --> 00:09:17,840
new in it.
I, I don't know if there is

144
00:09:17,840 --> 00:09:21,560
going to be studies, but it's
very, very helpful.

145
00:09:21,560 --> 00:09:23,400
And everything on the Internet
is negative.

146
00:09:24,280 --> 00:09:28,280
Very few even like, you know, I
went to my old colleges like

147
00:09:29,040 --> 00:09:32,040
studies, the research project,
everything's negative.

148
00:09:32,560 --> 00:09:37,080
Everything is negative.
Yeah, there's a lot of negative

149
00:09:37,080 --> 00:09:40,160
information out there.
There are studies that have been

150
00:09:40,160 --> 00:09:42,000
done and are currently being
done.

151
00:09:42,200 --> 00:09:45,200
There's not enough of them.
We need more and.

152
00:09:45,440 --> 00:09:49,480
And I think that if more
information went to the public

153
00:09:49,480 --> 00:09:52,240
about the research, things would
be different.

154
00:09:52,320 --> 00:09:55,320
But you don't hear about it.
That's like part.

155
00:09:55,320 --> 00:09:57,880
That's why I think I, I try to
change that.

156
00:09:57,880 --> 00:10:01,000
I try to make videos talking
about, I did one recently about

157
00:10:01,000 --> 00:10:05,080
kratom and seizures because
scientists and researchers have

158
00:10:05,080 --> 00:10:08,560
looked at this and there's no
concrete evidence that kratom

159
00:10:08,560 --> 00:10:11,440
causes seizures.
But people like to go around

160
00:10:11,440 --> 00:10:16,480
saying it does because like
maybe one person went to an ER

161
00:10:17,160 --> 00:10:20,200
suffering from a seizure that
happened to take kratom.

162
00:10:20,360 --> 00:10:23,520
And then they decide, OK, let's
put out to the world that this

163
00:10:23,640 --> 00:10:27,600
plant causes that.
But there, there are research

164
00:10:27,600 --> 00:10:29,840
studies done.
Actually, what's interesting

165
00:10:29,840 --> 00:10:34,480
that you may not know, the FDA
did a study on natural kratom a

166
00:10:34,480 --> 00:10:37,480
few years ago and they found
that it was safe.

167
00:10:37,920 --> 00:10:41,120
Have they released that publicly
and put it on their website?

168
00:10:41,120 --> 00:10:43,800
No, they have not.
But they have done it.

169
00:10:43,960 --> 00:10:47,960
They've talked about it.
They've they've everybody it,

170
00:10:47,960 --> 00:10:51,800
you know, in this kratom science
world knows about it, but the

171
00:10:51,800 --> 00:10:54,160
public doesn't.
And and that needs to change.

172
00:10:55,000 --> 00:10:57,200
Of course we know why, right?
We know why.

173
00:10:58,640 --> 00:11:02,880
We know why because it it's
going to replace too many

174
00:11:02,880 --> 00:11:07,960
medications and the list of side
effects on those medications

175
00:11:08,000 --> 00:11:10,200
that people, oh, I don't know
what's in this and that like,

176
00:11:10,280 --> 00:11:12,160
have you heard the side effects
of what you're putting in your

177
00:11:12,160 --> 00:11:15,400
body?
You know, death seizure, you

178
00:11:15,400 --> 00:11:18,640
know, anal leakage, you're going
to just pop that so easily.

179
00:11:18,640 --> 00:11:22,920
But this plant that I'm telling
you, it's an individualized

180
00:11:22,920 --> 00:11:26,080
treatment plan per person
because what it does for you, it

181
00:11:27,000 --> 00:11:33,360
has might not be what it does
for me, you know, off off label

182
00:11:33,360 --> 00:11:35,200
for me is it does help me with
pain.

183
00:11:35,200 --> 00:11:38,120
I have scoliosis.
I've always had a bad back.

184
00:11:38,120 --> 00:11:41,160
So I don't take it for pain, but
it actually kind of helps.

185
00:11:41,160 --> 00:11:44,120
But because I think I'm not
using it for that, like my back

186
00:11:44,120 --> 00:11:49,160
still hurts a lot, but my mood,
the depression, the ADHD and let

187
00:11:49,160 --> 00:11:55,080
me also say this.
I have 0 cravings, 0 cravings

188
00:11:55,080 --> 00:12:00,960
for alcohol.
ADHDI haven't touched my my ADHD

189
00:12:00,960 --> 00:12:03,720
meds.
I haven't even thought about it.

190
00:12:03,720 --> 00:12:05,240
But you know, I'm not allowed to
drink with it.

191
00:12:05,240 --> 00:12:08,280
It it keeps me in check, but you
know, it eliminated all the

192
00:12:08,280 --> 00:12:10,920
cravings.
And that's the only thing in my

193
00:12:10,920 --> 00:12:15,280
entire life that has ever kept
me like on the straight and

194
00:12:15,280 --> 00:12:17,920
narrow, even with my my green
card.

195
00:12:18,000 --> 00:12:20,400
It used to be you're ripping it
all day.

196
00:12:21,440 --> 00:12:24,760
Now it's a little gummy at night
and then I go to bed it, it's

197
00:12:25,680 --> 00:12:27,360
like how you're supposed to be
doing it.

198
00:12:28,560 --> 00:12:32,840
And I can't believe it.
I, I, I can't believe it.

199
00:12:32,840 --> 00:12:37,520
And I have IBS.
Irritable bowel also helps with

200
00:12:37,520 --> 00:12:42,120
that.
It's cured it basically, you

201
00:12:42,120 --> 00:12:43,400
know.
That's incredible.

202
00:12:43,960 --> 00:12:48,400
A lot of people with with IBS
and Crohn's talk about how it

203
00:12:48,400 --> 00:12:51,720
helps them tremendously and that
they're actually better since

204
00:12:51,720 --> 00:12:56,360
using natural kratom.
Yeah, I also find that it kind

205
00:12:56,360 --> 00:13:01,040
of forces me into self-care
because I can't take it in the

206
00:13:01,040 --> 00:13:05,080
morning without eating or I will
throw up period.

207
00:13:05,080 --> 00:13:08,320
Every time.
I take 4, four grams about my

208
00:13:08,320 --> 00:13:12,000
morning, all my doses, and if I
don't eat first, I will get

209
00:13:12,000 --> 00:13:14,320
physically ill and I don't get
hunker cues.

210
00:13:15,040 --> 00:13:18,600
I have my own, you know,
relationship with food too.

211
00:13:18,600 --> 00:13:22,320
Of course, I got everything.
So it forces me to take care of

212
00:13:22,320 --> 00:13:23,880
myself.
It forces me to get up and eat

213
00:13:24,440 --> 00:13:28,040
where I might not for 2-3 in the
afternoon otherwise.

214
00:13:28,520 --> 00:13:31,440
So I have it forces me to eat,
it forces me to drink water.

215
00:13:31,800 --> 00:13:34,480
It keeps me away from alcohol.
And even if I want to have one,

216
00:13:35,000 --> 00:13:38,680
I'm going to pay for it.
Like it's, it's, I don't know,

217
00:13:38,680 --> 00:13:44,160
it's helping me with my hot
flashes because I'm in

218
00:13:44,160 --> 00:13:46,120
menopause.
I had a hysterectomy last year,

219
00:13:46,120 --> 00:13:48,640
so it thrusted me into
menopause.

220
00:13:49,920 --> 00:13:51,480
I'm convinced that it's the
kratom.

221
00:13:51,480 --> 00:13:56,400
I did find one, one article
about how kratom is affecting

222
00:13:56,400 --> 00:13:59,600
Women's Health in a positive way
because it, you know, it

223
00:13:59,600 --> 00:14:03,160
attaches to the endorphins and
right before hot flashes, your

224
00:14:03,160 --> 00:14:05,560
endorphins like get really,
really low.

225
00:14:06,040 --> 00:14:10,480
So if you keep that, like I'm
keeping my levels, I don't even

226
00:14:10,480 --> 00:14:13,320
know how it really works, but
I'm keeping my levels kind of

227
00:14:14,760 --> 00:14:17,720
even I'm having like 2 hot
flashes a day.

228
00:14:17,720 --> 00:14:24,360
I was having like 90.
Wow, It it's an amazing plant.

229
00:14:24,360 --> 00:14:27,920
It it's like a magical plant
that it does so many things.

230
00:14:29,480 --> 00:14:34,800
Yep, I I I find it like almost
having a spiritual connection to

231
00:14:34,800 --> 00:14:37,440
it.
Yeah, it knows what a lot of

232
00:14:37,440 --> 00:14:39,640
people say that.
A lot of people say that to me

233
00:14:40,840 --> 00:14:42,960
because of of how great it
works.

234
00:14:42,960 --> 00:14:45,600
I've been using it every day for
the last 6 1/2 years for my

235
00:14:45,600 --> 00:14:49,360
chronic pain.
I still when I take my kratom

236
00:14:49,360 --> 00:14:54,800
like so grateful and cannot
believe how much this helps me

237
00:14:55,080 --> 00:14:58,760
and allows me to not be taking
high doses of narcotics anymore.

238
00:14:59,360 --> 00:15:02,640
I know I've heard of all the
the, the medications that you

239
00:15:02,640 --> 00:15:06,640
were on and people that can't
even get out of bed and now they

240
00:15:06,680 --> 00:15:10,800
now they can.
Yeah, with one thing it is very

241
00:15:10,800 --> 00:15:12,720
it's it's a sacred, sacred
plant.

242
00:15:13,320 --> 00:15:16,760
You know, our, it's been used
for what, thousands of years or

243
00:15:17,160 --> 00:15:20,520
yeah, I mean, they know, they
know what to do.

244
00:15:20,600 --> 00:15:23,960
You know, just like I, I trust
traditional Chinese medicine as

245
00:15:23,960 --> 00:15:25,520
well.
You know, they've been around

246
00:15:25,520 --> 00:15:28,880
for like 5000 years.
They must know something.

247
00:15:29,160 --> 00:15:31,520
They know what they're doing.
Yes, they do.

248
00:15:31,520 --> 00:15:35,440
Yes they do.
And I am just just really,

249
00:15:35,440 --> 00:15:38,840
really, really grateful for it.
It's, you know, like I said,

250
00:15:39,240 --> 00:15:43,320
ADHD, depression, anxiety and
then see PTSD.

251
00:15:43,320 --> 00:15:48,560
So like chronic PTSD from
childhood, menopause, addiction.

252
00:15:48,680 --> 00:15:50,680
I I mean.
What else can?

253
00:15:50,680 --> 00:15:54,160
The list goes on and on.
Right, the only issue I have is

254
00:15:54,160 --> 00:15:58,480
that it does not sedate me at
all.

255
00:15:58,560 --> 00:16:01,440
It doesn't to me either, but
when people talk about it, I'm

256
00:16:01,440 --> 00:16:04,880
like, lucky you.
They take like they'll say red

257
00:16:04,880 --> 00:16:06,880
for bed and that like it's so
relaxing.

258
00:16:06,880 --> 00:16:08,920
They sleep so good.
I'm like, you didn't do that to

259
00:16:08,920 --> 00:16:10,000
me.
I got a red.

260
00:16:10,120 --> 00:16:14,480
I got a red Bali that I'll be up
scrubbing my my ceilings.

261
00:16:15,480 --> 00:16:20,720
It's the whites don't get me any
type of way.

262
00:16:21,200 --> 00:16:25,680
I use all whites, greens, Reds
and I just switch them up it I

263
00:16:25,680 --> 00:16:27,680
don't find one different than
the other really.

264
00:16:28,200 --> 00:16:31,520
I did.
I wish I did, like, I want to

265
00:16:31,520 --> 00:16:34,640
get relaxed too from it, but the
amount that I probably would

266
00:16:34,640 --> 00:16:37,320
need to take, you know, to say
like if maybe if you use more,

267
00:16:37,320 --> 00:16:38,800
you would OK.
I get sick.

268
00:16:39,400 --> 00:16:42,040
I get sick.
I have to constantly remember

269
00:16:42,840 --> 00:16:45,680
that added mindset out.
More is not better.

270
00:16:46,960 --> 00:16:49,320
More is not.
Yeah, we, we.

271
00:16:49,320 --> 00:16:52,080
Say that a lot to people their
news like less is more, less is

272
00:16:52,080 --> 00:16:56,520
more because a lot of people
think oh I need to take a lot

273
00:16:56,840 --> 00:17:00,280
for those that come from pain
management that took a lot of

274
00:17:00,280 --> 00:17:03,280
opioids, the assumption is I
took a lot of opioids I'm going

275
00:17:03,280 --> 00:17:05,920
to need a lot of this that's not
necessarily true People that

276
00:17:05,920 --> 00:17:08,880
come from addiction.
Well, I just always took all

277
00:17:08,880 --> 00:17:12,400
this stuff and they assume I got
to do that with this plant.

278
00:17:12,400 --> 00:17:14,240
And that's not necessarily true
either.

279
00:17:14,400 --> 00:17:18,880
I know some people that only
take like 1/4 teaspoon and get

280
00:17:18,960 --> 00:17:21,640
what they need out of it.
And then I know people that take

281
00:17:21,960 --> 00:17:25,200
3 tablespoons to get what
they're what they're looking

282
00:17:25,200 --> 00:17:26,640
for.
But it affects everybody

283
00:17:26,640 --> 00:17:28,319
differently.
That's what's so fascinating

284
00:17:28,319 --> 00:17:31,440
about the plant.
Yeah, I, I just wish I could

285
00:17:31,440 --> 00:17:34,480
take it on an empty stomach in
the morning because I, I, I was

286
00:17:34,480 --> 00:17:36,560
listening to 18.
Well, one of the times I've

287
00:17:36,560 --> 00:17:39,560
heard you say it about how you
keep the pressed tablets from

288
00:17:40,080 --> 00:17:42,320
for Especioso.
Especioso.

289
00:17:43,080 --> 00:17:47,680
Yeah, and.
I was like, I, I, I can't, I, I

290
00:17:47,680 --> 00:17:49,440
can't do it because I would
love.

291
00:17:49,440 --> 00:17:52,720
I know that it would give me
that jolt that I need in the

292
00:17:52,720 --> 00:17:56,000
morning.
Yeah, I can't.

293
00:17:56,000 --> 00:17:57,320
Interesting.
Well, why?

294
00:17:57,320 --> 00:18:00,600
Because it's telling.
Me No, you need to eat.

295
00:18:00,960 --> 00:18:03,000
But it's so interesting.
Because you know what, this

296
00:18:03,080 --> 00:18:07,680
topic has come up quite a few
times on TikTok in, in my chats

297
00:18:07,680 --> 00:18:11,520
over there where we've talked
about empty stomach versus full

298
00:18:11,520 --> 00:18:15,000
stomach.
And it's, it's a discussion

299
00:18:15,000 --> 00:18:16,560
we've had off and on for years
now.

300
00:18:16,600 --> 00:18:20,920
And what I've come to determine
is about half the people that

301
00:18:21,080 --> 00:18:25,080
talk about this topic say works
great on an empty stomach, works

302
00:18:25,080 --> 00:18:30,160
better for them, no problem.
Whereas another half the other

303
00:18:30,160 --> 00:18:32,160
half is like, oh, I got to take
it with food.

304
00:18:32,160 --> 00:18:34,520
It doesn't work for me well or I
get nauseous if I don't take it

305
00:18:34,520 --> 00:18:36,800
with food.
And it just goes back to it

306
00:18:36,800 --> 00:18:39,680
affects everybody differently.
When I first started, I was

307
00:18:39,680 --> 00:18:42,480
taking it with food.
And I'm like, why is this taking

308
00:18:42,480 --> 00:18:45,120
so long to kick in?
Why is this not as effective?

309
00:18:45,120 --> 00:18:48,120
Why is this not lasting as long?
And I'm like, let me try it on

310
00:18:48,120 --> 00:18:50,400
an empty stomach.
And it was like, oh, my God,

311
00:18:50,400 --> 00:18:51,960
this was like night and day for
me.

312
00:18:51,960 --> 00:18:55,880
And I don't get nauseous at all.
So it's interesting how it's

313
00:18:55,880 --> 00:18:57,960
affecting you.
That's very different.

314
00:18:58,640 --> 00:19:02,200
Yeah.
It's because I, I won't, I won't

315
00:19:02,200 --> 00:19:04,080
take care of myself.
I'll, I'll get up.

316
00:19:04,120 --> 00:19:05,520
I'll.
I cook both my kids hot

317
00:19:05,520 --> 00:19:07,760
breakfast every morning and not
one for myself.

318
00:19:08,680 --> 00:19:12,560
Yeah.
So taking better care of myself

319
00:19:12,560 --> 00:19:14,560
and it's.
And it's.

320
00:19:14,560 --> 00:19:21,400
Not expensive.
It's not expensive for such a

321
00:19:21,400 --> 00:19:26,560
healing and helping product
plant supplement.

322
00:19:26,560 --> 00:19:29,360
I I don't even know what we're
going to these days.

323
00:19:29,360 --> 00:19:31,600
Plants.
I like plant, but it's not.

324
00:19:31,600 --> 00:19:35,200
You would think that it would be
more expensive being how helpful

325
00:19:35,200 --> 00:19:40,960
it is, but it's not.
So I mean, it's not really out

326
00:19:40,960 --> 00:19:45,880
of reach for a lot of.
People right because it's the

327
00:19:45,880 --> 00:19:49,040
extracts in the seven OH
products that are expensive

328
00:19:49,520 --> 00:19:53,920
compared to natural leaf kratom,
which is a lot that was like I.

329
00:19:53,960 --> 00:19:58,080
Think I think it was like $10.00
for one of those little bottles.

330
00:19:58,080 --> 00:20:00,840
Yeah, those little.
Bottles are usually $10 and and

331
00:20:00,840 --> 00:20:03,880
when we hear stories of people
consuming a bunch of them every

332
00:20:03,880 --> 00:20:07,200
day, it's like, Oh my God, that
that gets expensive.

333
00:20:07,200 --> 00:20:09,760
If that becomes a daily habit, I
don't know how you could stomach

334
00:20:09,760 --> 00:20:12,720
it.
I I don't know how you could

335
00:20:12,720 --> 00:20:15,720
stomach it.
It is such a foul taste.

336
00:20:15,800 --> 00:20:18,400
The, that whatever I try, you
know, the feel free.

337
00:20:18,440 --> 00:20:20,120
The good thing I thought it was
seven O 8.

338
00:20:20,360 --> 00:20:23,680
It was very strong though, to
the point where I would I, I

339
00:20:23,680 --> 00:20:27,360
know that it was because I had
that little thing in my brain

340
00:20:27,360 --> 00:20:30,480
that I have and I was like, oh,
I like this.

341
00:20:32,760 --> 00:20:34,640
But I was able to keep it to
once a week.

342
00:20:34,640 --> 00:20:37,080
I took, I only have one day off
and I would take it on my day

343
00:20:37,080 --> 00:20:40,600
off to clean the house.
But then I was like, I saw

344
00:20:40,600 --> 00:20:43,240
someone on TikTok who was saying
they were taking like 10 or 12 a

345
00:20:43,240 --> 00:20:45,760
day and then they were saying
something.

346
00:20:45,760 --> 00:20:47,600
And I was like, Oh my gosh,
that's what I'm getting.

347
00:20:48,320 --> 00:20:50,760
I don't want to get, I don't
want to get hooked on this.

348
00:20:51,120 --> 00:20:52,920
It's, it's doing too much good
for me.

349
00:20:53,240 --> 00:20:57,320
I don't, you can, I don't want
to take advantage of what I

350
00:20:57,320 --> 00:21:01,240
have.
But yeah, I, I've, I've met, you

351
00:21:01,240 --> 00:21:05,840
know, a couple of vendors and
they're all so, so open and

352
00:21:05,840 --> 00:21:09,240
transparent and helpful.
And it's just, I mean, of course

353
00:21:09,240 --> 00:21:12,160
I've had, I guess I've made a
couple comments on your videos.

354
00:21:12,160 --> 00:21:15,080
I have all these inboxes from
people by my Kratom.

355
00:21:15,080 --> 00:21:19,320
You know, they're definitely, I
have some of those.

356
00:21:19,320 --> 00:21:21,640
But you know, some of the
vendors I've spoken to, I'm

357
00:21:21,640 --> 00:21:24,000
just, and they give it to their
own family.

358
00:21:24,800 --> 00:21:28,200
They take it.
I trust it.

359
00:21:28,760 --> 00:21:30,680
I trust it.
If you would give it to your own

360
00:21:30,720 --> 00:21:35,200
family, maybe not to yourself
because things into our own body

361
00:21:35,200 --> 00:21:36,520
that we wouldn't give to our
family.

362
00:21:36,520 --> 00:21:41,440
But I, I found it very helpful
to listen to all the, the

363
00:21:41,440 --> 00:21:46,120
stories on school and on TikTok.
Obviously I see them in my

364
00:21:46,120 --> 00:21:49,480
algorithm now.
But yeah, it's been, it's been a

365
00:21:49,480 --> 00:21:54,400
very interesting journey.
Like I can't believe it.

366
00:21:54,840 --> 00:21:56,320
I've heard you say that too.
Like every day.

367
00:21:56,320 --> 00:22:00,560
I can't believe this is real.
And it hey, it can't be the

368
00:22:00,560 --> 00:22:05,360
placebo effect for everybody.
Now, there's no way.

369
00:22:05,440 --> 00:22:07,880
And there's a plant that helps
the millions of people in the

370
00:22:07,880 --> 00:22:11,760
USI mean just in the US alone.
Well, going back to when you

371
00:22:11,760 --> 00:22:14,880
first heard about it, you said
that was three years ago.

372
00:22:14,880 --> 00:22:17,080
Do you remember like how old you
heard about it?

373
00:22:17,800 --> 00:22:21,480
I heard that it was.
Let me see.

374
00:22:21,480 --> 00:22:24,720
I heard of it.
It was actually work related.

375
00:22:28,520 --> 00:22:31,600
I want to I don't was they don't
consider it psychedelic, do

376
00:22:31,600 --> 00:22:33,800
they?
No, right, Because some people.

377
00:22:33,800 --> 00:22:36,360
Call it that, but it's not.
I was lumped in.

378
00:22:36,360 --> 00:22:41,920
Into a psychedelic assisted type
training.

379
00:22:42,400 --> 00:22:45,120
It was brought up in
conversation about they were

380
00:22:45,120 --> 00:22:48,680
calling it Kratom and they were
saying, you know, it's a little

381
00:22:48,680 --> 00:22:51,520
bit of a stimulant and and
higher doses is more like an

382
00:22:51,520 --> 00:22:52,680
opiate.
They made, They were a little

383
00:22:52,680 --> 00:22:56,320
bit more dramatic about it as
far as like the negative parts

384
00:22:56,320 --> 00:22:59,520
about it.
But I was like, hey, I I I don't

385
00:22:59,520 --> 00:23:02,520
want to be on this Adderall.
I don't want to take this every

386
00:23:02,520 --> 00:23:04,320
single day.
I don't I'm always, always

387
00:23:04,320 --> 00:23:07,360
looking for something to take
instead of these pills.

388
00:23:08,360 --> 00:23:12,000
Yeah, but I need something.
All right, I'm honest with

389
00:23:12,000 --> 00:23:14,440
myself, but I am definitely
honest with myself.

390
00:23:14,440 --> 00:23:16,080
I need something.
Something is definitely, you

391
00:23:16,080 --> 00:23:20,320
know, going on that.
But the but the pills just don't

392
00:23:20,320 --> 00:23:21,960
do it for me.
I always have a lot of side

393
00:23:21,960 --> 00:23:24,200
effects.
I don't remember to take them

394
00:23:25,320 --> 00:23:27,160
and then I just fall off and I
never really.

395
00:23:27,160 --> 00:23:29,640
So I was like, oh, let me try
it.

396
00:23:29,640 --> 00:23:33,320
And there was a three pack and
it was the brand super special.

397
00:23:33,320 --> 00:23:36,440
So they had a it was like a
white, green and a red.

398
00:23:36,440 --> 00:23:39,080
It was little tiny packets like
a little 3 pack or something.

399
00:23:39,080 --> 00:23:42,920
It might have been like 5 years.
It was a couple of years ago for

400
00:23:42,920 --> 00:23:46,240
sure.
And then I was like, I wanted to

401
00:23:46,240 --> 00:23:48,080
take a lot.
I wanted to feel relaxed.

402
00:23:48,080 --> 00:23:52,840
I it didn't work, I got sick.
I was like, this is disgusting.

403
00:23:54,520 --> 00:23:58,120
It is an interesting taste.
Some people say they like it and

404
00:23:58,120 --> 00:24:02,040
I, I, I don't know if you've
seen this long time ago, Jordan

405
00:24:02,040 --> 00:24:06,760
from New Hope had a TikTok video
of his mom taking a spoonful and

406
00:24:06,760 --> 00:24:09,240
she doesn't dry mouth with no
water.

407
00:24:09,560 --> 00:24:13,800
And I remember seeing that video
like and she says she likes it.

408
00:24:13,920 --> 00:24:16,680
She likes the taste and it's
like, Oh my God.

409
00:24:16,680 --> 00:24:19,800
And not even wash it down and
like I mean.

410
00:24:20,080 --> 00:24:24,040
Having that in your mouth, I
mean, I've had, you know, I've

411
00:24:24,040 --> 00:24:26,920
had it break off of into my
mouth and.

412
00:24:27,560 --> 00:24:30,280
Yeah, it is just.
I keep saying I want to make the

413
00:24:30,280 --> 00:24:33,640
tea, I want to make the tea and
drink it with a straw, but

414
00:24:35,000 --> 00:24:37,080
there's so many different ways.
Of consume it.

415
00:24:37,080 --> 00:24:42,400
I mean, I have what when I first
heard about it in 2019, I was

416
00:24:42,400 --> 00:24:44,600
like, well, OK, so it's this
powder.

417
00:24:44,920 --> 00:24:47,640
How do I consume this?
Like I'm looking like a what?

418
00:24:47,640 --> 00:24:50,320
What do you do with it?
And I went, I think I went to

419
00:24:50,320 --> 00:24:53,240
YouTube and there was this video
of this guy doing toss and wash

420
00:24:53,240 --> 00:24:55,640
where he just took the scoop of
the powder put in his mouth and

421
00:24:55,640 --> 00:24:58,320
then drink some water.
And I watched that going, I'm

422
00:24:58,320 --> 00:25:00,840
not going to do it like that.
That looks really gross.

423
00:25:01,160 --> 00:25:04,840
And I'd probably be like the
cinnamon challenge, like I'd be

424
00:25:04,840 --> 00:25:07,080
worried I'd inhale or coughing
up or whatever.

425
00:25:07,360 --> 00:25:11,600
So I, I started doing a bunch of
research and I was in a Facebook

426
00:25:11,600 --> 00:25:14,160
group at the time.
So I was brand new and I was

427
00:25:14,160 --> 00:25:15,960
asking people like, how do you
consume this?

428
00:25:16,000 --> 00:25:19,680
And when people were talking
about, you know, just mixing it

429
00:25:19,680 --> 00:25:22,640
with water, which is, you know,
what we call the swamp water tea

430
00:25:22,760 --> 00:25:25,200
method.
But then you said you just make

431
00:25:25,280 --> 00:25:28,640
get some warm water, mix it in.
Don't do it with cold water

432
00:25:28,640 --> 00:25:31,160
because it won't mix in cold
water, which is very true.

433
00:25:31,440 --> 00:25:35,600
And just, you know, mix it in
with some warm water and slam it

434
00:25:35,600 --> 00:25:38,480
down, put some juice in it.
Some people pick coffee or

435
00:25:38,480 --> 00:25:40,760
chocolate milk, like all kinds
of different things.

436
00:25:41,080 --> 00:25:44,280
So I just started experimenting
and it was really gross the

437
00:25:44,280 --> 00:25:46,440
first time I remember doing
orange juice cause a lot of

438
00:25:46,440 --> 00:25:51,800
people said orange juice and
there's warm swampy muddy water

439
00:25:51,800 --> 00:25:56,480
were with orange with hot drink
with cold orange juice.

440
00:25:56,560 --> 00:25:59,240
Not even.
Thinking about it, it was.

441
00:25:59,280 --> 00:26:03,240
Not pleasant when I almost puked
drinking that.

442
00:26:04,520 --> 00:26:08,280
But once I started and it took a
little trial and error, but I, I

443
00:26:08,280 --> 00:26:11,080
knew I had to figure this out.
But even though it tasted so

444
00:26:11,080 --> 00:26:13,400
bad, I'm like, I can't believe
I'm trying to drink this stuff.

445
00:26:13,640 --> 00:26:16,680
And it wasn't really helping at
first because I, I was using

446
00:26:16,680 --> 00:26:18,120
red.
Everybody said red for pain.

447
00:26:18,120 --> 00:26:21,320
And I'm like, why is this not
really this magic everybody's

448
00:26:21,320 --> 00:26:23,400
talking about?
But I knew I had to stick with

449
00:26:23,400 --> 00:26:27,120
it and not rush myself because I
had no alternatives at the time

450
00:26:27,160 --> 00:26:29,920
unless I went and got a drug
dealer because, you know, losing

451
00:26:29,920 --> 00:26:31,960
access to pain management is
scary.

452
00:26:32,280 --> 00:26:34,880
And if you can't access the meds
you've been taking for nine

453
00:26:34,880 --> 00:26:37,880
years every day to help your
pain, what are you supposed to

454
00:26:37,880 --> 00:26:39,400
do?
The only thought I had was I'd

455
00:26:39,400 --> 00:26:42,800
have to go find a drug dealer
and just buy them illegally and,

456
00:26:42,800 --> 00:26:45,240
and no one should have to be put
in that position, like forced

457
00:26:45,240 --> 00:26:47,520
into that position.
So I was really determined to

458
00:26:47,520 --> 00:26:51,600
figure out this kratom thing.
But once it started working, I'm

459
00:26:51,600 --> 00:26:57,080
like OK, it tastes bad but I'm
getting pain relief from a plant

460
00:26:57,080 --> 00:26:59,200
which was just mind boggling at
the time.

461
00:26:59,200 --> 00:27:02,360
Like I can't believe instead of
my Oxycontin I'm taking this.

462
00:27:03,880 --> 00:27:08,080
But I just, I just got over it.
I said to myself, this is worth

463
00:27:08,080 --> 00:27:10,120
it.
This is worth it to be able to

464
00:27:10,120 --> 00:27:12,320
use a plant instead.
Absolutely.

465
00:27:12,320 --> 00:27:14,040
It's worth it.
It's worth it.

466
00:27:14,160 --> 00:27:16,000
You know, I'm very picky with my
food.

467
00:27:16,880 --> 00:27:20,480
Again, relationship with food is
questionable at best.

468
00:27:21,680 --> 00:27:23,440
It's worth it.
It's worth it.

469
00:27:23,600 --> 00:27:26,720
It's worth it.
And my mind knows and I do the

470
00:27:26,720 --> 00:27:30,520
blade papes and I do capsules,
mostly blade Papes because, you

471
00:27:30,520 --> 00:27:32,640
know, capsules.
Yeah, of.

472
00:27:32,680 --> 00:27:38,040
Them and stuff, but I actually
like the capsules from mate

473
00:27:38,040 --> 00:27:40,480
metros.
Metrospect.

474
00:27:40,480 --> 00:27:45,240
Which there's a new episode
coming out actually this week,

475
00:27:45,240 --> 00:27:47,120
even though your episode will
come out after that.

476
00:27:47,600 --> 00:27:51,080
But there's a new episode where
we actually talk about they're

477
00:27:51,080 --> 00:27:53,200
capsules because they use vegan
capsules.

478
00:27:53,200 --> 00:27:55,520
I got like a whole education on
this because when I first

479
00:27:55,520 --> 00:27:57,880
started capsules, they didn't
really work well and I just

480
00:27:57,880 --> 00:28:00,240
figured they weren't opening up
and got all those capsule shells

481
00:28:00,240 --> 00:28:05,280
in your stomach anyway.
But most capsules are made with

482
00:28:05,320 --> 00:28:09,400
animal byproducts, so they're
harder to digest gelatin.

483
00:28:09,400 --> 00:28:12,160
Right, the gel.
Yes, gelatin.

484
00:28:12,160 --> 00:28:15,840
So my interview with Dan, he
talks all about how they're

485
00:28:15,840 --> 00:28:20,120
known for using the vegan
capsules, and it's actually made

486
00:28:20,120 --> 00:28:23,320
with a tapioca starch called
Poland.

487
00:28:24,840 --> 00:28:27,200
Yeah.
And so that that you know, so

488
00:28:27,200 --> 00:28:30,080
I'm definitely more interested
in capsules that method.

489
00:28:30,800 --> 00:28:34,560
And they are bigger.
They have more.

490
00:28:35,560 --> 00:28:40,360
So for my traditional dose, like
I was out earlier and I grabbed

491
00:28:40,360 --> 00:28:42,680
this, I bought a sample pack
from them, a bunch of different

492
00:28:42,680 --> 00:28:44,720
kinds.
I threw it in my purse because I

493
00:28:44,720 --> 00:28:47,040
couldn't take my dose until
after I had breakfast, of

494
00:28:47,040 --> 00:28:48,400
course.
And I went out for breakfast

495
00:28:48,400 --> 00:28:51,840
with my son.
So I took this and for 4/4 grams

496
00:28:51,840 --> 00:28:55,080
it's about 55 capsules.
There's a lot.

497
00:28:55,080 --> 00:28:56,800
More in them.
I think they were like 800

498
00:28:56,800 --> 00:29:00,880
milligrams or something they
advertised, but I yeah, vegan

499
00:29:00,880 --> 00:29:05,920
capsule polo, Polo Land or
whatever that yeah, yeah, these

500
00:29:05,920 --> 00:29:07,000
are great.
I love them.

501
00:29:07,680 --> 00:29:11,200
One of my favorite brands.
That's great.

502
00:29:11,200 --> 00:29:13,680
That's awesome.
I'm so glad to hear that.

503
00:29:13,920 --> 00:29:16,880
Yeah.
That is really interesting how

504
00:29:17,040 --> 00:29:21,040
they're doing capsules that way,
which people rave about.

505
00:29:21,040 --> 00:29:24,640
A lot of people are raving about
it and I've been trying their

506
00:29:24,640 --> 00:29:28,800
their super love what they do.
Sarah and Dan are the husband

507
00:29:28,800 --> 00:29:33,320
and wife duo that runs that
company, family run business and

508
00:29:33,720 --> 00:29:36,680
love their their kratom products
and love that they do those

509
00:29:37,320 --> 00:29:39,680
vegan capsules.
So that's that's great.

510
00:29:39,680 --> 00:29:42,560
It's finding what works for you.
Bottom line, right, Leah?

511
00:29:42,560 --> 00:29:45,720
It's like I I still do swamp
works.

512
00:29:45,720 --> 00:29:48,480
I'm just so used to it.
It it's just part of my routine

513
00:29:48,840 --> 00:29:51,520
and I just, it's just what I do
is see how.

514
00:29:51,520 --> 00:29:53,400
That could work.
And I keep saying I'm going to

515
00:29:53,400 --> 00:29:55,880
try it just because I know that
the straw is going to be a lot

516
00:29:55,880 --> 00:29:59,560
better and it would be quicker.
But then again, you know, for

517
00:29:59,560 --> 00:30:05,000
me, Madeline, you know, it's
taken from mental health more so

518
00:30:05,000 --> 00:30:07,960
than the pain, right?
So I can get out of bed.

519
00:30:09,240 --> 00:30:12,480
You know, it's not that I'm I
need that immediate just to get

520
00:30:12,640 --> 00:30:15,280
moving.
I need to get moving up here,

521
00:30:15,360 --> 00:30:21,440
you know, just like right.
I just, I, I will never get over

522
00:30:21,440 --> 00:30:23,640
the fact of how it just does
different things for different

523
00:30:23,640 --> 00:30:26,720
people based on what it's like.
It knows what you need.

524
00:30:27,440 --> 00:30:31,640
And I, I, I only find that with
plant medicine and natural

525
00:30:31,960 --> 00:30:34,800
products.
I psilocybin is the same way,

526
00:30:35,640 --> 00:30:38,400
especially in the micro dosing
people that do micro dosing for

527
00:30:38,400 --> 00:30:40,600
the, the magic mushrooms or
whatever.

528
00:30:41,480 --> 00:30:44,600
It's very, very, very personal
to you.

529
00:30:44,840 --> 00:30:47,920
I know people that, you know,
had neuropathy, it cured their

530
00:30:47,920 --> 00:30:51,720
neuropathy, other people, and it
just does what you need.

531
00:30:51,720 --> 00:30:55,720
It goes right to what you need.
And it goes back to the belief

532
00:30:55,720 --> 00:30:59,360
that everything we need is
already provided on this earth.

533
00:30:59,760 --> 00:31:02,440
You know, if you want to say God
or the universe, whatever, but

534
00:31:02,440 --> 00:31:05,040
it's been provided already, you
know.

535
00:31:06,240 --> 00:31:09,280
Yeah.
Were you expecting that you

536
00:31:09,280 --> 00:31:12,880
would not need to take so many
pharmaceuticals after starting

537
00:31:12,880 --> 00:31:17,000
using natural leaf kratom?
No, you were mentioning like.

538
00:31:18,080 --> 00:31:20,080
Several different.
Pharmaceuticals you were taking,

539
00:31:20,720 --> 00:31:22,240
is it OK?
That I mentioned the name

540
00:31:22,240 --> 00:31:23,440
absolutely.
Absolutely.

541
00:31:23,560 --> 00:31:28,360
I was taking.
Prozac Wellbutrin, Buspar

542
00:31:29,280 --> 00:31:35,920
hydroxyzine as a PRN for anxiety
and I never say it right methyl

543
00:31:35,920 --> 00:31:38,840
it like Concerta Ritalin type
for the ADHD.

544
00:31:40,360 --> 00:31:43,280
So all those were yeah gone.
So you don't take any of them

545
00:31:44,280 --> 00:31:49,560
not not a single one And
primarily I was taking it to

546
00:31:49,560 --> 00:31:52,520
substitute for my Adderall
because I heard energy right

547
00:31:52,520 --> 00:31:55,920
little bit of energy.
But then I realized like, like,

548
00:31:55,920 --> 00:31:59,000
I don't want to die.
Like, I don't feel like, you

549
00:31:59,000 --> 00:32:03,200
know, it would be OK if I didn't
wake up, which is chronic

550
00:32:03,200 --> 00:32:07,120
suicidal ideation, as they call
it chronic SI had it since

551
00:32:07,240 --> 00:32:09,520
childhood and now I don't have
it.

552
00:32:09,520 --> 00:32:13,000
Like I, I was like, I
accidentally realized that it

553
00:32:13,000 --> 00:32:16,600
was helping me with the
depression and anxiety, my PTSD

554
00:32:16,600 --> 00:32:21,400
essentially.
So that was by accident, you

555
00:32:21,400 --> 00:32:25,080
know, and I lost my back.
And also, you know, the IBS.

556
00:32:26,520 --> 00:32:28,960
It's a it's, it's, I mean, I'm
always drinking.

557
00:32:31,560 --> 00:32:34,280
And it forces you into self-care
it really.

558
00:32:34,280 --> 00:32:38,480
Does a lot of people say that I
I I drink a lot of water too?

559
00:32:38,480 --> 00:32:40,880
I mean I already was drinking a
lot of water but I definitely

560
00:32:40,880 --> 00:32:45,120
drink more since I become a a
kratom consumer and that's not a

561
00:32:45,120 --> 00:32:47,440
bad thing, no?
Exactly.

562
00:32:47,440 --> 00:32:52,160
Every, every side effect that I
have gotten from it is, is for a

563
00:32:52,160 --> 00:32:54,480
reason.
Either now or you took too much.

564
00:32:55,160 --> 00:32:58,440
You can't take too much.
You know the side effects.

565
00:32:58,440 --> 00:33:00,200
Well, you don't really need to
have that one drink.

566
00:33:00,480 --> 00:33:02,680
You don't really need it.
You don't really need it.

567
00:33:04,000 --> 00:33:08,080
It just forces me to take care
of myself, which is, yeah, I'm

568
00:33:08,120 --> 00:33:11,440
great at taking care of others,
but when it comes to myself,

569
00:33:11,560 --> 00:33:16,160
it's, you know, not as easy.
Yeah.

570
00:33:16,520 --> 00:33:21,960
Well, the there's so many
positive side effects from it.

571
00:33:22,640 --> 00:33:26,240
I mean, you're just been naming
the, the medications you were

572
00:33:26,240 --> 00:33:29,520
able to stop.
It's just incredible.

573
00:33:29,800 --> 00:33:33,080
So many times we hear negative
information on the Internet

574
00:33:33,080 --> 00:33:36,520
about all these terrible side
effects, all these negative side

575
00:33:36,520 --> 00:33:38,800
effects with kratom.
And sure, some people have them,

576
00:33:39,360 --> 00:33:42,600
A lot of people don't.
Most people don't.

577
00:33:42,920 --> 00:33:45,840
I, I don't have any negative
side effects from it.

578
00:33:45,840 --> 00:33:49,960
I only have positive.
I like to raise awareness about

579
00:33:49,960 --> 00:33:53,840
that with people because it is
it is a.

580
00:33:55,360 --> 00:33:58,360
An amazing.
Plant that's that's saving lives

581
00:33:58,360 --> 00:34:02,440
in so many different ways.
And I think that it it it helps

582
00:34:02,440 --> 00:34:05,800
too, that, you know, people like
yourself, you know, you don't,

583
00:34:06,760 --> 00:34:08,360
you don't come from a
background.

584
00:34:08,520 --> 00:34:12,280
Oh, with the addiction problems,
you know, you're, you know, just

585
00:34:12,280 --> 00:34:17,199
from a pain perspective.
So nobody can say, oh, yeah,

586
00:34:17,239 --> 00:34:19,520
yeah, she says it's for pain,
but you know, she's probably

587
00:34:19,520 --> 00:34:21,679
getting high.
Like that's not even something

588
00:34:21,679 --> 00:34:25,280
that you do.
So it it definitely helps having

589
00:34:26,040 --> 00:34:29,760
the perspective of, you know,
different people that use it and

590
00:34:29,760 --> 00:34:32,719
why, you know, Jordan was the
one.

591
00:34:33,040 --> 00:34:35,480
I didn't even know that it could
be used.

592
00:34:35,480 --> 00:34:39,199
I mean, I've heard you know it
for like opiate withdrawal,

593
00:34:39,199 --> 00:34:43,760
things like that, but I had no
idea about the cravings that it

594
00:34:43,760 --> 00:34:45,840
just like kind of eliminates all
together.

595
00:34:45,840 --> 00:34:48,960
I didn't know that.
But his transparency, of course,

596
00:34:48,960 --> 00:34:53,120
I was like, wait a minute, like,
yeah, let me try.

597
00:34:53,159 --> 00:34:54,880
Let let me.
And then I was like, you know

598
00:34:54,880 --> 00:34:57,760
what?
Yes, I have not thought about

599
00:34:57,760 --> 00:35:00,440
stopping for a six pack since I
started it.

600
00:35:01,040 --> 00:35:03,240
I would drive by every day.
So I should stop and get a six

601
00:35:03,240 --> 00:35:05,160
pack.
I wouldn't, but I would think

602
00:35:05,160 --> 00:35:06,720
about it, right.
Oh, it's a nice day.

603
00:35:06,760 --> 00:35:08,200
It's, you know, first day of
fall.

604
00:35:08,200 --> 00:35:10,400
I should get a six pack.
Oh, it's a first day of summer.

605
00:35:10,400 --> 00:35:12,680
I should get a sick every day.
And I've realized, you know

606
00:35:12,680 --> 00:35:14,160
what?
Haven't even had this silly

607
00:35:14,160 --> 00:35:16,320
thought in my head since I
started it.

608
00:35:16,600 --> 00:35:19,120
I have not taken an Adderall
since the first day that I

609
00:35:19,120 --> 00:35:21,840
touched kratom with the intent
of this.

610
00:35:22,920 --> 00:35:25,320
Still sitting there.
Can't believe it.

611
00:35:27,400 --> 00:35:29,200
That's powerful.
I was.

612
00:35:29,280 --> 00:35:31,680
That's.
Very powerful every single day.

613
00:35:31,840 --> 00:35:34,400
I was it.
I mean, it's not, I'm not proud

614
00:35:34,400 --> 00:35:37,800
of it, but yeah, I was snorting
my Adderall every day for years.

615
00:35:38,480 --> 00:35:40,560
Like, I don't know why I just
can't pop it, you know?

616
00:35:40,560 --> 00:35:45,280
I have to be a little, you know,
you know, and I'm almost 50

617
00:35:45,280 --> 00:35:48,160
years old and still playing that
game with myself, you know, like

618
00:35:48,320 --> 00:35:51,000
very high functioning.
But I'll, I started Adderall in

619
00:35:51,000 --> 00:35:55,480
the morning.
So it's, it's the, you know, the

620
00:35:55,480 --> 00:35:59,520
high functioning.
The deal is, is, you know,

621
00:35:59,520 --> 00:36:02,960
sometimes worse even when you're
able to just, you know, present

622
00:36:02,960 --> 00:36:07,480
yourself as though everything is
great, but you know, behind the

623
00:36:07,480 --> 00:36:11,040
scenes you're not.
I feel OK.

624
00:36:11,040 --> 00:36:14,240
Now I do, I feel great.
I feel great.

625
00:36:15,520 --> 00:36:20,000
I just wish that it was a little
bit more, you know, accepted in

626
00:36:20,000 --> 00:36:25,760
society because I love to shoot
scream it from the rooftop, but

627
00:36:26,280 --> 00:36:29,280
I also don't want to shoot it
from the rooftop.

628
00:36:29,680 --> 00:36:33,560
And then someone like me says,
oh, I'm going to try create

629
00:36:33,560 --> 00:36:34,920
them.
That sounds like a great idea.

630
00:36:35,120 --> 00:36:38,480
And they wind up going in to a
smoke shop and walking out with

631
00:36:38,480 --> 00:36:41,440
Feel Free.
It's literally what I what

632
00:36:41,440 --> 00:36:43,360
happened to me.
I walked out with Feel Free.

633
00:36:44,200 --> 00:36:45,840
And that wasn't what I really
wanted.

634
00:36:47,640 --> 00:36:49,320
I just didn't know.
Just create em.

635
00:36:49,320 --> 00:36:53,360
Just create em, yeah?
Well, that's why education is so

636
00:36:53,360 --> 00:36:57,240
important and why me and some
other advocates are always

637
00:36:57,240 --> 00:37:00,480
trying to educate others.
And some of the kratom companies

638
00:37:00,720 --> 00:37:04,960
like Christopher's, like Jordan,
like Mitris Back, Sarah and Dan

639
00:37:04,960 --> 00:37:08,600
are big with this, where let's
educate the public and give out

640
00:37:08,600 --> 00:37:11,560
good factual information so
people have an understanding of

641
00:37:11,560 --> 00:37:13,720
what this is.
So they're not walking into a

642
00:37:13,720 --> 00:37:16,440
smoke shop where you have people
behind the counter that don't

643
00:37:16,440 --> 00:37:20,080
know anything and just pointing
to a product when you say, hey,

644
00:37:20,160 --> 00:37:22,080
I heard about this kratom, I
want to try it.

645
00:37:22,360 --> 00:37:27,000
And many times right now in
2025, people are being directed

646
00:37:27,000 --> 00:37:31,120
to 70 H products at the smoke
shop and being told this is

647
00:37:31,120 --> 00:37:32,960
kratom too.
Oh yeah.

648
00:37:32,960 --> 00:37:37,080
And I've seen them, now that I
know what they are, I I was

649
00:37:37,080 --> 00:37:40,320
looking around to see if they
had it.

650
00:37:40,320 --> 00:37:42,040
Of course they did.
Or at the counter.

651
00:37:43,440 --> 00:37:47,160
Very appealing.
Very appealing to someone that's

652
00:37:47,160 --> 00:37:49,360
looking to, you know, get high.
Absolutely.

653
00:37:49,360 --> 00:37:51,160
I would have been all over that
when I was younger.

654
00:37:52,640 --> 00:37:54,000
I would have been.
A lot of them have.

655
00:37:54,000 --> 00:37:58,600
Drug names I know.
It was like we have Parker Opia

656
00:37:58,640 --> 00:38:03,040
or something, like definitely we
know what you're trying to

657
00:38:03,080 --> 00:38:06,520
insinuate.
Like Zanny bars.

658
00:38:06,520 --> 00:38:11,520
I was like, but, you know, at
the same time, it's probably

659
00:38:11,520 --> 00:38:13,960
safer than what's out on the
street, right?

660
00:38:13,960 --> 00:38:18,240
Right, It most likely is
compared to like, you know,

661
00:38:18,240 --> 00:38:22,080
things on the street like
fentanyl and whether other

662
00:38:22,480 --> 00:38:25,440
drunks out there.
There just needs to be more

663
00:38:25,440 --> 00:38:28,400
education.
People need to know what these

664
00:38:28,400 --> 00:38:31,640
products are and just have some
understanding.

665
00:38:31,640 --> 00:38:34,080
People are just so quick to just
consume something and have no

666
00:38:34,080 --> 00:38:36,720
idea what it really is.
I see a lot of videos like on

667
00:38:36,720 --> 00:38:40,360
Tiktok and YouTube or people
talk about their addiction to

668
00:38:40,400 --> 00:38:45,240
kratom to seven O to feel free.
And every single time they they

669
00:38:45,240 --> 00:38:47,600
all say the same thing.
Yeah, I just bought it and took

670
00:38:47,600 --> 00:38:49,040
it.
I didn't even read what it what

671
00:38:49,040 --> 00:38:52,160
it was.
They didn't research nothing.

672
00:38:52,160 --> 00:38:55,400
And it's like, well, there's got
to be some accountability.

673
00:38:56,080 --> 00:38:58,560
I mean, you know, you should,
you should know what you're

674
00:38:58,560 --> 00:39:03,040
consuming and.
That's definite definitely the

675
00:39:03,040 --> 00:39:06,520
case.
You know, for 7/7 OI, I've heard

676
00:39:06,520 --> 00:39:09,240
enough of people that are
getting a lot of relief from it,

677
00:39:09,720 --> 00:39:12,920
but I see much more.
Maybe it's just my algorithm

678
00:39:12,920 --> 00:39:19,720
that you are struggling with it,
but it shouldn't be my, my, my,

679
00:39:19,720 --> 00:39:23,240
my fault or, you know, my
problem that other people can't

680
00:39:23,240 --> 00:39:25,720
control and it shouldn't be
anyone's.

681
00:39:25,840 --> 00:39:28,640
They, the liquor stores are
still open, right?

682
00:39:29,080 --> 00:39:30,360
Right.
Liquor's still open.

683
00:39:30,360 --> 00:39:34,880
That's the worst drug out there
in my opinion, and most widely

684
00:39:34,880 --> 00:39:38,640
accessible, right.
And the start, you know, it's

685
00:39:38,640 --> 00:39:41,800
the I believe, like that's the,
you know, what do they call a

686
00:39:41,800 --> 00:39:45,120
gateway?
Gateway, you know, drug where a

687
00:39:45,120 --> 00:39:49,680
lot of other drugs that, you
know, a lot of times every every

688
00:39:49,680 --> 00:39:54,640
good story starts out with
alcohol, but they're still open,

689
00:39:54,720 --> 00:39:57,320
you know that they're they're
still, you know, thriving.

690
00:39:57,320 --> 00:40:01,760
So it shouldn't be, but but I
will also like, you know, like

691
00:40:01,760 --> 00:40:05,240
you said, like the names are so
close that it's a gimmicky

692
00:40:05,360 --> 00:40:08,480
almost.
It's gimmicky and it's with the

693
00:40:08,480 --> 00:40:12,840
soul to attract, you know,
people that are trying to get

694
00:40:12,840 --> 00:40:15,480
high.
Well, those manufacturers know

695
00:40:15,480 --> 00:40:18,920
what they're doing.
Right, Exactly, exactly.

696
00:40:18,920 --> 00:40:23,800
And I I mean, even if you want
to get high on kratom leaf, you

697
00:40:23,800 --> 00:40:25,160
can't.
It's going to get you sick

698
00:40:25,160 --> 00:40:26,560
first.
It's just not.

699
00:40:26,560 --> 00:40:28,040
Exactly.
You're going to throw it up

700
00:40:28,040 --> 00:40:31,080
before, before that happened.
I mean, but that's where

701
00:40:31,120 --> 00:40:37,720
extracts, because they're potent
people are, are more prone to

702
00:40:37,720 --> 00:40:40,520
have issues because, you know,
it's not going to make you sick

703
00:40:40,520 --> 00:40:42,480
like leaf powder will.
Yeah.

704
00:40:43,640 --> 00:40:45,040
Well, and then you can.
Consume a lot.

705
00:40:45,040 --> 00:40:47,960
And then get into trouble.
It won't let me abuse it.

706
00:40:47,960 --> 00:40:49,720
I tried and it keeps me in
check.

707
00:40:50,200 --> 00:40:51,800
That's good.
That's really good.

708
00:40:51,880 --> 00:40:57,360
Well, what are you doing?
How about you go throw up and

709
00:40:57,360 --> 00:40:59,000
have?
Some food before you take any.

710
00:40:59,240 --> 00:41:02,000
I love that.
Like how your body responds to

711
00:41:02,000 --> 00:41:03,240
it.
That's just amazing.

712
00:41:03,800 --> 00:41:06,880
I have a very.
I think I would say spiritual

713
00:41:06,880 --> 00:41:09,800
connection with it, you know it.
It knows what I need when I need

714
00:41:09,800 --> 00:41:13,360
it, and it's the only thing that
doesn't change.

715
00:41:13,400 --> 00:41:18,280
Like alter my like, I don't say
it's me and my consciousness, my

716
00:41:18,280 --> 00:41:20,640
sobriety.
If you that I actually like

717
00:41:21,280 --> 00:41:23,440
like, Oh my gosh, let me see
what time it is.

718
00:41:23,760 --> 00:41:27,120
Am I able to take my kratom yet?
And it's not because I'm high.

719
00:41:27,520 --> 00:41:31,880
It it it it took away all that.
It took away the the yearning to

720
00:41:31,880 --> 00:41:36,240
get up.
Yeah, away all together.

721
00:41:36,240 --> 00:41:37,680
And it also doesn't get you
high.

722
00:41:37,680 --> 00:41:39,760
So it's like I could see why
people over.

723
00:41:39,760 --> 00:41:42,920
Why would you bother?
I don't it's it's just it

724
00:41:42,920 --> 00:41:45,880
eliminated all that craving and
also doesn't get me high.

725
00:41:45,880 --> 00:41:50,000
So happy without it.
That's a first.

726
00:41:51,200 --> 00:41:55,280
That's a first in 49 years.
That's amazing.

727
00:41:55,280 --> 00:41:58,600
You have such an amazing story
and, and it just, from

728
00:41:58,600 --> 00:42:01,000
everything you're saying, it
just sounds like this is just

729
00:42:01,520 --> 00:42:03,760
incredible for just your
day-to-day life.

730
00:42:03,760 --> 00:42:06,640
I mean, you got family.
How has all of that changed

731
00:42:06,640 --> 00:42:08,440
since kratom has come into the
picture?

732
00:42:09,120 --> 00:42:15,920
Well, I, I would will say that I
am much more present.

733
00:42:16,520 --> 00:42:21,520
You know, it's not that I
wouldn't be present, but to the,

734
00:42:21,520 --> 00:42:24,720
the thoughts all day around, you
know, the intrusive thoughts

735
00:42:24,720 --> 00:42:28,480
that go along with, you know,
certain mental health situations

736
00:42:28,480 --> 00:42:31,600
and, or just being alive in
2025.

737
00:42:31,600 --> 00:42:34,960
I don't know, like a lot of
constant, you know, around and

738
00:42:34,960 --> 00:42:38,880
around and around.
And ADHD comes with executive

739
00:42:38,880 --> 00:42:40,920
dysfunction, right?
Like not being able to like get

740
00:42:40,920 --> 00:42:44,000
started on things.
So I'm a lot more ahead of

741
00:42:44,000 --> 00:42:45,680
things.
Like, you know, the bills are

742
00:42:46,360 --> 00:42:52,480
paid in advance, the house is
cleaner, You know, I meal

743
00:42:52,480 --> 00:42:55,400
prepping where is like, I would
do it, but it would be such a

744
00:42:55,400 --> 00:42:58,960
pain for me to do it.
And just everything, everything

745
00:42:58,960 --> 00:43:02,280
is better on, on that front.
I have more energy at work.

746
00:43:02,760 --> 00:43:09,920
I work about 70 hours a week.
So I need that energy and it's

747
00:43:10,680 --> 00:43:14,440
energy without a crash.
It's there's no feeling of

748
00:43:14,440 --> 00:43:16,040
coming down.
Like you mean the coffee

749
00:43:16,040 --> 00:43:19,480
jitters.
It's just I'm, I'm more present.

750
00:43:19,520 --> 00:43:22,880
I am.
I got the energy without feeling

751
00:43:23,360 --> 00:43:26,000
like what the stimulant
medication does to you, which

752
00:43:26,000 --> 00:43:28,480
isn't a good feeling.
Like you're up but you feel like

753
00:43:29,040 --> 00:43:31,920
shaky.
I don't feel that way.

754
00:43:32,560 --> 00:43:35,400
So I'm extremely productive at
work.

755
00:43:38,840 --> 00:43:40,160
Just yeah, I'm just more
present.

756
00:43:40,160 --> 00:43:42,960
Just more present physically and
mentally.

757
00:43:44,440 --> 00:43:46,640
That's wonderful.
That's just so wonderful to hear

758
00:43:46,640 --> 00:43:49,880
stories like this, like just
amazing positive experience with

759
00:43:49,880 --> 00:43:52,200
a plant and doesn't.
Break the bank.

760
00:43:53,520 --> 00:43:55,120
That's that.
That's really important.

761
00:43:55,800 --> 00:43:58,800
And I definitely overdo it, like
so much.

762
00:44:00,560 --> 00:44:02,240
But it's like, you know, I don't
feel it.

763
00:44:02,240 --> 00:44:05,760
I don't feel guilty because it's
not, it's terribly expensive.

764
00:44:06,400 --> 00:44:09,520
It's not.
It's not, Yeah.

765
00:44:10,000 --> 00:44:13,640
And it's just not something like
you said before that you really

766
00:44:13,640 --> 00:44:16,280
feel comfortable talking about
at work or talking to others

767
00:44:16,280 --> 00:44:19,600
about just because of that.
What they would.

768
00:44:19,600 --> 00:44:23,240
Perceive well.
Yeah, I mean, well, my, my one

769
00:44:23,240 --> 00:44:26,080
job is a remote job.
I do utilization management for

770
00:44:26,960 --> 00:44:30,160
for insurance company.
So I do like authorizations for

771
00:44:30,520 --> 00:44:32,120
impatient mental health things
like that.

772
00:44:32,120 --> 00:44:34,880
It's a very I'm not really
talking to anyone anyway.

773
00:44:35,720 --> 00:44:40,640
I do have private small private
practice where I see clients and

774
00:44:41,240 --> 00:44:43,760
I.
Help.

775
00:44:43,920 --> 00:44:46,720
But it ain't going to be me.
You're not going to hear it

776
00:44:46,720 --> 00:44:52,320
coming from me only because what
if they do go into a smoke shop?

777
00:44:53,360 --> 00:44:56,880
The guy says try this, They do.
And then now they're hooked.

778
00:44:56,880 --> 00:44:58,640
And it was something that I put
in their ear.

779
00:44:58,640 --> 00:45:03,000
I don't, I just can't do it.
And then, you know, you know, in

780
00:45:03,080 --> 00:45:04,960
other ways, the rest of it's
just my business.

781
00:45:04,960 --> 00:45:08,200
You know, it's my business.
I don't need to share my

782
00:45:08,200 --> 00:45:13,480
personal business with them and
then with my family with my

783
00:45:13,480 --> 00:45:16,200
substance abuse history.
If I say, oh, I got this Kratom,

784
00:45:16,720 --> 00:45:21,400
they all they know is what they
see on the news, my family and

785
00:45:21,680 --> 00:45:24,080
they go along with whatever they
see on their particular news

786
00:45:24,080 --> 00:45:25,600
station.
Let's just say that.

787
00:45:26,560 --> 00:45:32,160
So it's just not their business.
They don't understand and you

788
00:45:32,160 --> 00:45:38,400
know, but I it's not, it's not
like that I'm ashamed or

789
00:45:38,400 --> 00:45:40,680
anything like that, but it's
just my business.

790
00:45:40,680 --> 00:45:44,560
I'm very private to begin with,
to begin with.

791
00:45:44,800 --> 00:45:47,480
So just don't need the
conversation.

792
00:45:48,280 --> 00:45:50,760
Tired of dealing with fighting
with ignorance.

793
00:45:51,040 --> 00:45:54,520
It'd be more like.
I'm like I'm.

794
00:45:54,760 --> 00:45:58,400
I'm maxed out with like, you
know, explaining when people are

795
00:45:58,480 --> 00:46:02,520
committed to misunderstanding,
why waste your time?

796
00:46:02,720 --> 00:46:06,160
So, but I think, you know, this
isn't going to go away.

797
00:46:06,320 --> 00:46:09,640
I think it's only going to get
stronger.

798
00:46:09,680 --> 00:46:12,080
The, you know, the amount of
people that see that it's

799
00:46:12,080 --> 00:46:15,280
helping and it's not just, you
know, what you're hearing.

800
00:46:15,960 --> 00:46:19,280
So I think just go, I think
we'll just move forward.

801
00:46:19,280 --> 00:46:23,280
And I think that we just, we
need a lot more research studies

802
00:46:23,280 --> 00:46:26,440
and projects.
And, you know, people in in

803
00:46:26,440 --> 00:46:28,640
college, they need to do more
studies.

804
00:46:30,360 --> 00:46:30,880
Yeah.
They.

805
00:46:31,040 --> 00:46:34,120
They definitely, it would be
great to have more research on

806
00:46:34,120 --> 00:46:38,520
it, but that's surprisingly been
quite a few studies on on it.

807
00:46:38,880 --> 00:46:43,480
My understanding is right now
there's a study on, I believe

808
00:46:43,480 --> 00:46:47,320
the FDA is involved with a study
on potential abuse of kratom.

809
00:46:48,600 --> 00:46:49,920
So that'll be interesting to
see.

810
00:46:49,920 --> 00:46:53,560
Like, you know what?
But I just find it interesting

811
00:46:53,560 --> 00:46:57,320
that the FDA has done a single
dose study shows it's safe, but

812
00:46:57,320 --> 00:47:01,440
they won't put it out there
because it shows that kratom is

813
00:47:01,440 --> 00:47:06,080
OK, quite natural leaf kratom.
And I've been told by multiple

814
00:47:06,080 --> 00:47:09,880
sources that the FDA was so sure
it was going to kill people.

815
00:47:09,880 --> 00:47:12,080
It was going to hospitalize
people and people are going to

816
00:47:12,080 --> 00:47:14,560
get super sick by, you know,
consuming.

817
00:47:14,560 --> 00:47:16,800
And you know what's interesting,
with that study they did a few

818
00:47:16,800 --> 00:47:20,240
years ago, it was actually
superspeciosis capsules, by the

819
00:47:20,240 --> 00:47:22,680
way.
So kudos to them that they were

820
00:47:22,680 --> 00:47:28,400
involved with that.
They had participants take 12

821
00:47:28,400 --> 00:47:31,520
grams of capsules in a 5 minute
period.

822
00:47:32,000 --> 00:47:35,440
So you talk about how you take 4
grams, I take about 5:00-ish.

823
00:47:36,040 --> 00:47:41,440
So try to imagine having to take
enough capsules to equal 12

824
00:47:41,440 --> 00:47:44,160
grams.
That would make me puke, I'm

825
00:47:44,360 --> 00:47:45,160
sure.
Oh yeah, I'm.

826
00:47:45,520 --> 00:47:48,680
I'm definitely going to get sick
from that for sure, but imagine

827
00:47:48,680 --> 00:47:50,080
how.
Many capsule shells, that's

828
00:47:50,080 --> 00:47:51,400
going to be in your stomach,
right?

829
00:47:51,800 --> 00:47:53,680
And here's the worst thing that
happened.

830
00:47:53,760 --> 00:47:57,200
A few people got nauseous.
That was the worst that happened

831
00:47:57,640 --> 00:48:01,800
in this study that the FDA
conducted that most people don't

832
00:48:01,800 --> 00:48:04,040
even know about.
So that's.

833
00:48:04,040 --> 00:48:05,040
Why?
That's why they couldn't

834
00:48:05,040 --> 00:48:06,840
schedule it right?
That's why they couldn't make it

835
00:48:06,840 --> 00:48:08,600
a schedule one, because probably
so.

836
00:48:08,600 --> 00:48:10,720
Probably.
That's probably because how, how

837
00:48:10,720 --> 00:48:13,040
could they?
I mean, they're going after 70

838
00:48:13,080 --> 00:48:18,400
H, but how could they schedule
natural leaf kratum when they

839
00:48:18,400 --> 00:48:22,760
themselves were involved with a
study that shows that ingesting

840
00:48:22,760 --> 00:48:26,520
12 grams in 5 minutes is not
going to hurt anybody?

841
00:48:29,360 --> 00:48:30,560
You know you.
Know they.

842
00:48:30,560 --> 00:48:32,560
They don't want to.
They don't want to get their

843
00:48:32,560 --> 00:48:35,160
friends in Big Pharma upset,
right?

844
00:48:35,360 --> 00:48:36,880
Right.
Well, it says interesting.

845
00:48:36,880 --> 00:48:40,160
When you look at like people
when they leave the FDA, where

846
00:48:40,160 --> 00:48:43,000
do they go work at?
It's always big pharma.

847
00:48:43,040 --> 00:48:47,680
They get a big cushy high paying
job in big pharma.

848
00:48:48,280 --> 00:48:51,640
Yeah.
And it's, you know, I don't

849
00:48:51,640 --> 00:48:54,800
believe or trust anyone in the
government.

850
00:48:55,400 --> 00:48:58,360
Yeah.
You know, totally understand,

851
00:48:59,760 --> 00:49:02,600
never did.
But it's certainly not getting

852
00:49:02,600 --> 00:49:06,320
you know, any different, but I I
I do.

853
00:49:06,320 --> 00:49:08,840
I do hope that and and I do see
it too.

854
00:49:08,840 --> 00:49:11,320
I do see that that it is known
out there.

855
00:49:11,320 --> 00:49:14,400
You know there's a lot of people
that do do different sheep

856
00:49:14,680 --> 00:49:18,480
between the seven O and leaf
kratom that are, you know,

857
00:49:18,760 --> 00:49:20,520
higher up.
They do understand there's a

858
00:49:20,520 --> 00:49:22,000
difference.
So that's a good thing.

859
00:49:22,240 --> 00:49:25,360
Yeah, they should pull all those
off the shelf, those Smurf

860
00:49:25,360 --> 00:49:28,880
looking thing like they're too
attractive to kids to young

861
00:49:28,880 --> 00:49:32,160
people, they're too attractive.
Get them off.

862
00:49:32,160 --> 00:49:37,040
There's there's a couple I I
guess of of of seven O vendors

863
00:49:37,040 --> 00:49:40,160
online that they say they do
testing, but I like the

864
00:49:40,160 --> 00:49:43,880
transparency and well, not not
on that anyway, but on my I love

865
00:49:44,200 --> 00:49:46,080
that on the on the products that
I buy.

866
00:49:46,080 --> 00:49:49,560
It says it especially
Christopher's botanical like it

867
00:49:49,560 --> 00:49:51,760
says exactly.
I don't even know what old all

868
00:49:51,760 --> 00:49:54,800
the ingredients really are, but
you could see right on there.

869
00:49:54,800 --> 00:49:58,680
Everything's very transparent.
Scan a code on some of them on a

870
00:49:58,680 --> 00:49:59,760
lot.
Yep, Yep.

871
00:49:59,760 --> 00:50:01,760
You can scan a code for their
testing.

872
00:50:02,360 --> 00:50:06,240
And you know that's the only way
I'm I'm gonna ever do it with

873
00:50:06,360 --> 00:50:09,040
the vendors that I have now.
I like that a happy hippo too.

874
00:50:09,040 --> 00:50:11,640
I I've tried them as in the
past.

875
00:50:12,680 --> 00:50:14,960
I think I have a whole order, a
couple of orders out for

876
00:50:14,960 --> 00:50:17,600
delivery today.
I have one too.

877
00:50:17,760 --> 00:50:19,560
I have order delivery.
I saw, I checked my e-mail.

878
00:50:19,560 --> 00:50:21,560
I have a delivery coming today,
some more tablets.

879
00:50:22,720 --> 00:50:25,200
Yeah, you know it.
I think it just, it's so

880
00:50:25,200 --> 00:50:28,200
important to do your research so
you know what you're getting and

881
00:50:28,200 --> 00:50:31,040
know that these are reputable
brands that you're buying from.

882
00:50:31,040 --> 00:50:33,320
All the ones that you've
mentioned or all the ones that I

883
00:50:33,560 --> 00:50:36,640
ones that I use that I recommend
because they're very

884
00:50:36,640 --> 00:50:39,520
transparent.
They they lab test all their

885
00:50:39,520 --> 00:50:42,160
products.
They put the QR code on there so

886
00:50:42,160 --> 00:50:46,040
you can go see the certificate
of analysis and know exactly

887
00:50:46,040 --> 00:50:48,160
what you're consuming.
I think that's incredibly

888
00:50:48,160 --> 00:50:53,560
important, yes.
Yes, I would never buy it from

889
00:50:53,560 --> 00:50:55,600
any of these people that are DM
and me.

890
00:50:55,600 --> 00:50:59,120
I was like no thank you.
I've heard about, you know,

891
00:50:59,120 --> 00:51:03,720
salmonella, lead and and other
things, you know, and then but

892
00:51:03,720 --> 00:51:07,640
but see, let's say I did and
then I get sick and I go to the

893
00:51:07,640 --> 00:51:13,080
hospital and now Kratom, you
know, and it becomes, oh, well,

894
00:51:13,240 --> 00:51:15,880
kratom makes you sick.
Kratom did this target you've

895
00:51:15,880 --> 00:51:18,320
got poison you She's got.
Yeah, right.

896
00:51:18,520 --> 00:51:20,160
But we have to look at the whole
picture.

897
00:51:21,000 --> 00:51:23,480
What else was in my system?
Where did I get it?

898
00:51:23,480 --> 00:51:24,600
What?
You know, there's a lot of

899
00:51:24,600 --> 00:51:29,200
different factors that go into,
you know, people that died from

900
00:51:29,240 --> 00:51:30,840
kratom.
Well, yeah, but they were also

901
00:51:30,840 --> 00:51:34,040
taking this and this and this
and this and, you know, they

902
00:51:34,040 --> 00:51:36,200
already had this going on in
their body.

903
00:51:36,200 --> 00:51:42,920
So my labs have been fine.
I've had blood work probably

904
00:51:42,920 --> 00:51:45,960
once since I've been on my full
time regimen here.

905
00:51:46,520 --> 00:51:49,320
Fine, totally fine, a little
deficient in vitamin D.

906
00:51:49,320 --> 00:51:52,560
That's got nothing to do with
the the kratom.

907
00:51:52,560 --> 00:51:54,680
That's pretty most of us are.
That's a common.

908
00:51:54,680 --> 00:51:57,680
Yeah, that's a common 1 is just
about everybody's deficient in

909
00:51:57,680 --> 00:51:59,680
vitamin D That's why I take a
vitamin D supplement.

910
00:52:00,160 --> 00:52:03,680
Yeah, a long time ago my doctor
said take a vitamin D supplement

911
00:52:03,680 --> 00:52:06,520
because, yeah, a lot, most of us
are all deficient in that.

912
00:52:06,680 --> 00:52:09,800
That's so incredible to hear
because I do the same thing.

913
00:52:09,800 --> 00:52:11,760
I go to my doctor once or twice
a year.

914
00:52:11,760 --> 00:52:15,520
I always get labs and I I've
told her that I take natural

915
00:52:15,520 --> 00:52:17,160
kratom.
She didn't know anything about

916
00:52:17,160 --> 00:52:20,200
it, but I've been educating her.
I feel good about that.

917
00:52:20,480 --> 00:52:24,520
And she sees how well I'm doing
and how I don't have to take

918
00:52:24,520 --> 00:52:26,480
narcotics.
I can take this instead for my

919
00:52:26,480 --> 00:52:30,960
pain is she's and she's super
impressed and every time my labs

920
00:52:30,960 --> 00:52:33,440
come back fine.
I don't you know, people like to

921
00:52:33,440 --> 00:52:36,680
also say Kratom causes liver
damage.

922
00:52:37,840 --> 00:52:42,400
Well, I mean things are going to
affect everybody differently and

923
00:52:42,400 --> 00:52:45,160
somebody's going to consume
kratom that could possibly have

924
00:52:45,200 --> 00:52:48,760
issues, but maybe there's a
history of problems.

925
00:52:48,760 --> 00:52:53,200
Maybe their alcohol previous
alcohol use was already this

926
00:52:53,240 --> 00:52:56,120
had.
More of a problem you.

927
00:52:56,120 --> 00:53:03,040
Know I've I'm a healthy person,
I go to the doctor, I get labs

928
00:53:03,080 --> 00:53:07,320
and my labs have not changed in
the 6 1/2 years I've been

929
00:53:07,320 --> 00:53:09,080
consuming crate.
I mean I've consumed it every

930
00:53:09,120 --> 00:53:13,760
day just like when I used used
the pain meds I every day

931
00:53:13,760 --> 00:53:17,240
because I my this degeneration
is so severe.

932
00:53:17,240 --> 00:53:20,120
I've got to take something or
I'm going to be like in bed not

933
00:53:20,120 --> 00:53:21,840
able to move and being
miserable.

934
00:53:22,000 --> 00:53:24,960
So I'm OK with that.
I understood what I got into

935
00:53:24,960 --> 00:53:28,760
when I started pain management
years ago, but I need to take

936
00:53:28,760 --> 00:53:31,760
something.
And I'm just super impressed

937
00:53:32,120 --> 00:53:36,320
that I can consume this plant
every day and not have any

938
00:53:36,320 --> 00:53:38,600
health issues because of
anything negative.

939
00:53:38,760 --> 00:53:42,480
Labs are always great.
So it I I just think it's

940
00:53:42,480 --> 00:53:44,320
amazing.
And I love that people like

941
00:53:44,320 --> 00:53:46,960
yourself come on here and share
your incredible story because we

942
00:53:46,960 --> 00:53:50,320
need more of these stories out
there so people know that this

943
00:53:50,320 --> 00:53:53,160
plant changes lives.
Yeah, I mean.

944
00:53:53,160 --> 00:53:58,320
I was curious to see the labs.
I was curious they, I did not

945
00:53:58,320 --> 00:53:59,600
tell my doctor that I'm taking
it.

946
00:53:59,600 --> 00:54:03,160
And there was absolutely nothing
different than the year before,

947
00:54:03,840 --> 00:54:05,760
nothing different.
Everything was pretty much the

948
00:54:05,760 --> 00:54:07,880
same.
It has affected, you know, so

949
00:54:07,880 --> 00:54:12,920
far nothing negative.
And like I said, any, any damage

950
00:54:13,760 --> 00:54:16,960
I could have done to my liver, I
wasn't very concerned about it

951
00:54:17,640 --> 00:54:22,600
back in the day.
So we're fine and everything

952
00:54:22,800 --> 00:54:24,840
affects your liver.
So if I'm taking 5

953
00:54:24,840 --> 00:54:28,800
pharmaceuticals a day, you know,
I, I worked in, you know, for a

954
00:54:28,800 --> 00:54:33,120
while I worked in, in Group
homes and these, these people

955
00:54:33,120 --> 00:54:37,360
were on, you know, 1213
different psych meds for years,

956
00:54:37,360 --> 00:54:40,960
you know, for decades.
None of them, none of them live

957
00:54:40,960 --> 00:54:47,280
past 5055, maybe because they
all developed the, I've seen

958
00:54:47,280 --> 00:54:51,720
twice now thyroid cancers.
They, they developed stuff and

959
00:54:51,720 --> 00:54:54,720
I'm convinced that it's from,
you know, 1213 different meds

960
00:54:54,720 --> 00:55:00,400
they're on, you know, 2-3 times
a day, a lot of meds all day and

961
00:55:00,400 --> 00:55:02,320
that they're dead.
I mean, I'm sure there goes

962
00:55:02,320 --> 00:55:03,560
other, there's other parts to
it.

963
00:55:03,560 --> 00:55:05,440
They don't have the healthiest
diet either.

964
00:55:05,440 --> 00:55:08,040
But but when you're a group
home, you go for your check UPS,

965
00:55:08,040 --> 00:55:10,240
you get your vaccine, you get
everything you're supposed to.

966
00:55:10,640 --> 00:55:14,040
Why do you die early?
I don't know, just a lot of meds

967
00:55:14,520 --> 00:55:16,560
processed through your liver,
right.

968
00:55:16,680 --> 00:55:21,560
So I'll, I'll take, I'll take
the hit for the positive that

969
00:55:21,560 --> 00:55:24,480
I'm getting from it, because
it's not about me.

970
00:55:24,480 --> 00:55:28,040
What do I want to live to 110?
No, I I don't need to live that

971
00:55:28,040 --> 00:55:31,000
long.
But the time that I have at

972
00:55:31,000 --> 00:55:36,280
least this second-half of my
life, maybe I won't wish I was

973
00:55:36,280 --> 00:55:39,480
dead.
Yeah.

974
00:55:40,040 --> 00:55:41,880
And I think.
That that, that I'll take, I'll

975
00:55:41,880 --> 00:55:45,680
take the, you know, take the hit
to the liver, not to want to die

976
00:55:45,680 --> 00:55:48,760
every day.
This is such a great.

977
00:55:48,760 --> 00:55:52,720
Conversation I'm so glad you
came on the podcast to to have

978
00:55:52,720 --> 00:55:55,520
this discussion with me.
Last question I want to ask you

979
00:55:55,520 --> 00:55:58,600
is knowing everything you know
about kratom, what advice would

980
00:55:58,600 --> 00:56:01,520
you give to someone else to help
them get started in their own

981
00:56:01,520 --> 00:56:08,320
journey?
I would definitely advise start

982
00:56:08,840 --> 00:56:13,680
low, start low, start low.
More is not better.

983
00:56:15,360 --> 00:56:18,120
Check out Madeline's approved
vendors list.

984
00:56:18,160 --> 00:56:23,800
That's what I did, yeah.
Just just just start low and for

985
00:56:23,800 --> 00:56:27,400
the first time, don't take it on
an empty stomach.

986
00:56:28,920 --> 00:56:30,840
That that's just me.
That's my advice.

987
00:56:32,880 --> 00:56:36,920
Other people are fine, but I got
really sick from, you know, not

988
00:56:36,920 --> 00:56:41,440
taking it with food.
So, but give it a try and see

989
00:56:41,440 --> 00:56:44,800
for yourself and take it with
intent, you know, take us.

990
00:56:44,800 --> 00:56:46,640
I'm taking this to help myself
feel better.

991
00:56:46,640 --> 00:56:48,440
I'm helping this for my pain.
I'm helping.

992
00:56:48,440 --> 00:56:50,560
This is going to help.
This is going to help my

993
00:56:50,560 --> 00:56:53,080
depression.
This is going to help my

994
00:56:53,080 --> 00:56:54,920
anxieties.
This is going to help me clean

995
00:56:54,920 --> 00:56:58,440
my house today.
I love that.

996
00:56:58,680 --> 00:57:00,160
Leah, thank you so much for
being here.

997
00:57:00,400 --> 00:57:02,440
Thank you so much.
For having me, I appreciate

998
00:57:02,440 --> 00:57:05,840
everything that you do and and
the whole community.

999
00:57:06,040 --> 00:57:09,120
Everyone seems lovely.
I I think I I think I've watched

1000
00:57:09,120 --> 00:57:13,920
all of the create them gal
really nice have Yep.

1001
00:57:13,920 --> 00:57:16,800
I I, I had him playing while I
was at work the other day and

1002
00:57:16,800 --> 00:57:20,240
just let him play.
Yeah, it, you seem to have

1003
00:57:20,560 --> 00:57:25,360
really created a very safe
environment that that we can all

1004
00:57:25,360 --> 00:57:27,680
just come to.
Everyone's so helpful and I

1005
00:57:27,680 --> 00:57:31,560
appreciate you and I appreciate
all the vendors that that that

1006
00:57:31,560 --> 00:57:34,440
come on your show and that you
guys are great.

1007
00:57:34,440 --> 00:57:36,520
I'm so grateful to be a part of
this.

1008
00:57:36,680 --> 00:57:39,560
And you said for the first time
in my life, I just want to be

1009
00:57:39,560 --> 00:57:43,280
alive.
Wouldn't be if it wasn't for

1010
00:57:43,280 --> 00:57:46,200
kratom.
I love that.

1011
00:57:46,200 --> 00:57:48,240
Well, thank you.
Appreciate all the nice words.

1012
00:57:48,360 --> 00:57:48,840
Thank you.
